  1. I am still stuck on why Civil War got cancelled. I thought it was a just war that freed the slaves. What did I miss other than that it's not good to memorize any war? Pretty dumb, but apparently I am getting too old.
  2. One thing I am curious - so if Beavs and Cougs both win this Saturday, 3 teams will be 6-3 in the North and they all chain-beat each other up. So who will have the tie-breaker? Wouldn't the team with the best overall record, i.e., Ducks, win out?
  3. Completely agree. It was evident that Ducks was a one-dimensional team easy to beat once someone figured out how to stop the run and KT. We had no answers because we don't have an air game. And that's on the coaches for not developing it despite clear evidence of AB's shortcomings. Having a passing threat alone might not have been enough, but it would have helped with the score and other parts of the game. As I said before, it seems obvious that we should've tried to play a 2-QB system most of the year to help get a young guy who can throw gain the experience they need. I heard that they insisted on playing AB because he was the only QB who could fully grasp the playbook. OK, but surely TT or Butter could grasp part of it if they only play part of the game? Anyway, it's easy to couch coach, but I am not the only one criticizing the coaching. It's been very frustrating to see no change.
  4. Oh that's unfair. What's the PC thing one can do to a Ute? 🙂 We are just sitting ducks, unfortunately, for this type of disparaging headline...
  5. 35-24 OBD wins, as long as AB brings his A game like the WSU one and doesn't throw to the wrong team!
  6. Well, it's all about abilities and rankings. So I think it's fair. 12-team playoff will definitely reduce/eliminate controversies - if you are #13, you should only have yourself to blame. 🙂
  7. LOL, but seriously, most of these will probably do better than their last guy. They will all look legit with a 9.5M/Yr salary, that's for sure.
  8. I have the same fear, but also hold out hope that they see that AB is gone and there should be much more passing with TT under center. Again, fingers crossed. We can't just run our way to a natty.
  9. Interesting analysis. But like the Beavs, Utes won't think this way at all. They just want to beat the No. 3 team of the land, both times if possible...
  10. This is inflation for sure, LOL! Had no idea MSU has such deep pockets. Wow. And everyone is right - he is not worth more money than Saban, that's for sure. SMH...
  11. Nice discount. Just checked - the football tix are about 1/2 price of the going rate on Stubhub. Thanks!
  12. Not good at all that we are not just losing new WR recruits, but enrolled and seasoned guys too. That's the downside of having a QB like AB, unfortunately. Yes, these guys should be more patient, but who can blame them in this day and age. I am personally very surprised that our QB3 Butterfield and QB4 Ashford have been as patient as they are so far. Fingers crossed.
  13. This. Only AB can beat AB. And only Mario can beat Mario... Fingers crossed and focus on one game at a time!
  14. Thanks Duck 1972. But is there any news about their visit and what they thought?
  15. That's great - good championship teams need strong D. Having the likes of KT and Sewell has really done us well. More please... Weren't there supposed to be 2 highly rated receiver recruits at the WSU game? Did they like what they saw, I wonder, with all the running by AB and 130 passing yards? Opportunities or concerns?
  16. Yeah, I have heard that too, but just hope that it doesn't backfire again like the Furd game...
  17. Jonathan Smith may be the best fit, if they can get him to leave the Beavs...
  18. I watched it via Sling stream and the quality/definition seemed fine. What was not was the lack of cameras and how many times they failed to follow the ball correctly. The crew was also pretty weak - were they the same Tree alums assigned to the Furd game?
  19. I have always liked Adams too. What a shame that he was just one thumb injury away from NFL greatness. He would've been like Russell Wilson or even better. But not sure he was second best from Oregon though, depending on how you define it I guess. As far as NFL success, Dan Fouts has to be up there. Let's hope Herbert stays upright and keeps performing!
  20. Before reading the interview, I had always held a grudge against Harbaugh for LaMike's lack of success in NFL. Now it's clear that someone else was to blame. Still Harbaugh was the HC and he definitely failed to utilize LM properly. Too bad for NFL, but good for the burger field. Killer Burger is alright!
  21. This is fun to talk about, but don't want to jinx anything - could we table any talk of Utah game until after this Saturday? 1 game at a time... 😀
  22. Thanks. It's definitely on my list. My daughter has season student ticket and always shared vids and pics about the atmosphere. I was planning to go last year to see the Michigan game until Covid happened. Will have to go next year before she graduates.
  23. If I remember correctly, the boos came when AB missed a short 3-yard pass when the receiver was wide open... But yeah, the fans were just frustrated about his misfires and MC's refusal to change things up. What's wrong with playing 2 or more QBs? I think this year's Oregon team is perfect for that. I know most Dux fans don't watch Notre Dame, but I do because my daughter goes there. They play 3 QBs very effectively, led by a super-senior transfer from Wisconsin, followed by a freshman and a sophomore. Couldn't that be our setup exactly? Start AB, but pepper in TT and Butter... I bet that will get the offense going when it's stuck, not to mention making the team more resilient in case AB goes down after one of those short runs to nowhere?
  24. That's why Suamataia's transfer hurts even more... We could really use a 5-star FR like him now.
