Great Analysis. But I also remember what happened when these 2 teams last played each other in the Pac12 cship. Nobody expected the Dux to have a chance coz Utah looked so dominant. This year the comps are much more in our favor, but then we have to play at their home... Overall I am hopefully optimistic - as long as we are prepared like tOSU or even the UCLA/UW game, we should win, despite moments of bad AB plays...
One would have to wonder if the poor playing/coaching between tOSU and Colorado games is contributing to this (small) tide of discontent among recruits. I really hope I am wrong, but I would not be surprised. Fingers crossed that the Ducks kill Dawgs tomorrow and make statements in all the games remaining this season. That will help cement recruiting.
We may have to really treasure this moment because this just painted a even larger target on our backs and you know how the Pac is beating each other up. UW, WSU, Utah and tosu, none of them is easy unless the coaches and AB bring their A game 4x in a row...
Exactly. And don't forget Ty was playing with 2nd team offense too. Mario should've let him use the 1st team. I bet the INT wouldn't have happened. Another poor coaching decision, IMHO. Fortunately he adjusted this time and didn't cost us a game.
Funny most think alike - with this team and the coaches, one can never count on anything. Just fingers crossed that they play just enough to win - that's what AB and the team has been doing all season. "Crushing" anyone is really the fanbase's false expectation and the reason we booed. Shame on us!
Apparently the gamblers agree with the pollsters too - the line for UCLA opened as -3 for dux, then instantly shifted to +1.5.... LOL. They are tired of getting their butt kicked, booing or not...
The fan frustration was entirely justified. Every time they booed, I was booing at home at the TV too...
The biggest problem with Mario is his refusal to change and adjust. So I hope it's correctly reported that the boos really bothered him. Now we will see which team shows up this Saturday, when they get to play without worrying about the fans booing - the Q3 team or the Q4 team of the last game...
This and the remaining games on Ducks schedule this year will be stressful to watch for a Duck fan simply because MC is too stubborn to adjust. In that way, Ducks will be consistent. So it will be down to how the opponents play. If they play well, then we are doomed. If they suck, then we may get lucky win. We will probably never blow anyone out from now on...
Well, until the top recruits stop coming, what do we know to second guess Mario? Apparently people in the business still think highly of him to want to come to play for him. It's hard for a Duck fan to see the team struggle or fail to dominate, but I say let's wait and see what develops in this season before throwing the coach under the bus...
