  1. Got to admire the spirit. Hope he stays healthy and doesn't jinx his NFL stock...
  2. Exactly my first thought. In this day and age of the carousal, I won't expect him to stick around long if OBD continues to be successful offensively. The next question is: Will Frank Harris follow him to Oregon, if Nix leaves?
  3. Mario is like the magic snake oil salesman - he can sell to anyone anytime. Didn't they just sign a big-time recruit and are still ranked 7th for the 2023 class, despite this horror show of a season? Amazing.
  4. Don't know how to feel about this one - he didn't even get to play with TT's underwhelming showing this season. Good luck to the kid. He may need it.
  5. Well, but aren't they under a ton of sanctions? All coaches are on very short leash nowadays. If he can't deliver in 2-3 yrs, his career will be over. That's my bet at this point.
  6. The slow mesh, they call it. LOL. It was entertaining to watch the QB and RB getting hammer by defenses at the same time while they were saying to each other "no, you have the ball, I insist".
  7. So is Chip the only coach to have left Oregon and be "successful", which comes with a lot of qualifiers of coz... I wonder if future incoming coaches are going to look at that and think twice before coming here, unless they want to be OBD lifers. Is this a good thing for us?
  8. I know I know - not very gracious here, but who cares: The failures of slick and Mario do help to soothe and heal my soul after Saturday. Thank you, disloyal traitors. Unfortunately, Dilly didn't learn. ASU is such a snakepit now, I doubt a young inexperienced guy will make it there. Not a smart move at all!
  9. Great analysis, but just like the CFP talk last week, this is pointless speculation with 2 weeks remaining. Just win and things will be taken care of. Agree 100% with David, OBD's season is most likely over if Bo is out. May be heading to Holiday or lower bowl if we lose the last 2... How the fortune has changed in one game.
  10. This is not good at all. A lot of sweats coming Saturday night... Also, seems like Kris Hutson talks too much. Hope he doesn't get disciplined and miss a game.
  11. It's another problem and sign of OBD's success. I tell all my fellow OBD fans after Saturday to take a deep breath and look at the big picture - shouldn't we be happy that UW made such a huge deal about beating us? Remember how it was a HUGE DEAL for UO to beat UW back in 1994? How the tide has turned? OBD is now enjoying the prestidge of Alabama, tOSU, Clemson and ND, where other teams "win of the (insert forever in their timeline)" is beating the Ducks? Same idea about yanking coaches form us... We should rejoice in the successes of OBD and continue to be proud of our team, as long as they keep working on it.
  12. Good for him. MC will have him run up the middle and into the piles in no time!
  13. Yes, it's time to stop chasing after the stars and actually evaluate the players in person like the old times. The whole CFB system now is broken, including this business of ranking teams recruiting based on star ratings and making a big deal out of it.
  14. The 4th-down fail was entirely on the coaches. If they were going to gamble, why NOT gamble with the play-calling and have TT run around the pile, instead of asking Whittington to slip up the middle? So many mistakes in that Q4...
  15. I remember reading a comment on this forum regarding his transfer, predicting a scenario exactly like this. Granted it's never right to wish it on anyone, but that post mentioned the difference in O Lines, and karma... Wish Dye well, but this has got to hurt his future prospects.
  16. In the game against Colorado today, Dye's knee got badly injured and has to be carted off the field...🤞
  17. They are all going to say the same thing, until they get a right-fitting offer that they can't refuse. I think the problem with Auburn is the fit - they will likely not want someone who is yet inexperienced as HC, even with the success so far. If OBD makes playoff or beyond, then that narrative may change. But not at this point. MC had no offer even after the Rose Bowl season, right? On the other hand, DL may not like to be in the pressure cooker and the mess that's Auburn, at this point of his career. It makes a lot more sense to build on his success here so far. So this is simply a story of fit. Because of that, he won't leave now for Auburn.
  18. Definitely a factor. Unfortunately it will be clear in Eugene this Saturday. So expect Pennix to fire the ball everywhere. Hope DL flexes his D wisdom and do a Bulldog on the puppies!
  19. #7, Tennesse, LSU, and TCU will still be ahead...
  20. Totally agree. Watching NBC's coverage of ND's big win tonight and 2 years ago over Clemson, especially after the games - the time they alloted to showing the crowd rushing the field, it's evident that NBC values and needs this contract to compete. So I think ND will get a big contract all by themselves. If so, why bother joining any conference? BTW, my daughter was in that crowd both times, pretty lucky for her 4 years there. I am convinced that she brought them the luck though, LOL...
  21. This won't help our poll position. So I hope someone beats LSU later. But the ND blow-out win over Clemson will definitely move OBD up to 7.
  22. Very funny read. Thanks for the laughs, Alan.
  23. Since he turned down ND to commit to OBD, how does MSU have a chance?
  24. Hope he doesn't read any of these. Just keep playing hard and win, Bo. Good things will come naturally!
  25. Or Oklahoma... Speaking of ND, at least they are no longer overrated this year. But how the heck does Syracuse make No. 20 after being beat by a 3-loss ND team that had lost to Marshall and Stanford? Stupid rankings.
