The new norm!

I see at least two problems with the rule. The team that wins the toss and scores a TD, the other team never gets the ball. If the team that wins the toss scores a FG, the other team should not be facing the rest of the 10 minute clock. They should have all the time they need to finish the drive. For instance, had LV kicked the FG with 1 minute left, LA should be given all the time they need for their possession.

Thanks for Keeping Oregon Football History Alive

Good mention of Frei. I remember in the 1970 season he won national coach of the week award twice in three weeks, and hi comment the second time was something to the effect that we must not be expected to win games. -

The Coming Mid-Season Opt Outs in College Football
Steven A replied to geoquack's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think we already saw something like this recently with a BIG 10 player (need a little help from my forum friends for his name) who was hurt, missed a few games and could have come back for a game or two but decided to end his college career. Also, we saw a QB from a Texas school (more help please) who decided to redshirt after the first few games went into the tank. Said he would definitely come back and then entered the transfer portal after the season. So, your point seems to be a natural progression. -
Darren, I agree on all your points and that the Alliance was a much better option to expansion. I will be interesting to see how long Vandy and any other bottom SEC feeders stay where they have ZERO chance to ever be anything but cannon fodder in football. Plus, OU and Texas will be middle tier at best for a while. I wonder if their buyout from the SEC will be when they realize the colossal mistake they made going from being a big fish in a small pool to a small fish in a big one. And when they never sniff a conference CShip and jettison their coaches, they will never attract quality coaches since they will be doomed to fail from the beginning.

Let's not forget Hopkins in BBall, won two coach of the year awards with Romar's recruits, and then turned into a Duck's best friend. -
I'm going to disagree on this one. I think he has done a good job all around. As you know, there are a lot of sports that he is in charge of and although football is the cash cow, he seems to have hit home runs in some of his other hires.

Let's hope he is. In regard to coaching commitments, eventually very few leave on their own terms.
