  1. Had to figure Tenn was out of NIL $$$.
  2. Boy, will this put ADs in the cross hairs with revenue vs non-revenue coaches? New details on the California bill that could change college sports forever WWW.MSN.COM The next 48 hours could prove to be crucial for the future of college athletics.
  3. Per 24/7. Let's hope so. Oregon's defense projected to be Top 15 over next few seasons 247SPORTS.COM Oregon head football coach Dan Lanning has a strong reputation of being one of the best defensive-minded coaches in college football. He led the Georgia Bulldog defense
  4. I am Ok with "pistol plunges on third-and-one!" It was the pistol plunge on third-and-a-lot-more-more-than-one that drove us crazy(ier).
  5. Can't wait to see Dj and him, plus the rest of the front 7 wreaking havoc.
  6. Missouri's legislature has just sent a bill to the Governor to allow any athletic department official -- including coaches -- to assist with NIL deals. It seems the first tenet of the NCAA's interim [NIL] policy is you have to follow your state's law. That would suggest, if a state gives the ability to do that, the NCAA doesn't have any ability to enforce any restrictions. So, existing laws in Louisiana and Illinois are undergoing amendment conversions that would allow booster involvement. As the article states, "it's a race to the bottom...." Fissures already appearing after NCAA's attempted crackdown on NIL from boosters, collectives WWW.MSN.COM Enforcing its updated rules will be a tall task for the NCAA
  7. 24/7 Sports National recruiting analyst Greg Biggins thinks so. What's a fair expectation for Oregon's recruiting efforts? 247SPORTS.COM Over the last few seasons, the Oregon Ducks have turned their football program into one of the best programs in recruiting. The Ducks have led the Pac-12 Conference in
  8. So far, a two-run home run hire with the potential for a grand slam (have to wait for the new media rights contract, hopefully we'll have a new analogy, a five-run homer). We have to remember, Larry was fast out of the gate with a record breaking media deal. Unfortunately, it was all down hill from there. I am in favor of the Alliance vs immediate expanded playoffs since that would have given ESPN too much power, which in turn would further empower the SEC at this time.
  9. Best part about this kid, he is a TEAM guy .... “We’ve known for a long time,” Dowdell’s stepfather Lawrence Hopkins said. Dowdell just wanted to wait till the end of his spring season before going public, keeping the steady flow of colleges coaches to come by the school to see his teammates while they were going through camp."
  10. The article is complete BS. Why, you may ask. Because it did not address the fact that an expansion last year would have given ESPN a monopoly on the rights for a few years starting immediately. By delaying, there will be competitive bidding by Fox, CBS and whomever may decide to come to the table. As we know, competitive bidding means more $$$ for everyone. So, while the premise of the article is correct, it leaves out the most important piece of the pie. Of course, since the SEC and ESPN share the same sheets, Stankey ignored the peeping elephant in the room. So, short term, Pac 12 & Big 12 lose, long term we'll get back to the table.
  11. This article throws a lot S at the wall with no real answers, what a surprise. Forget NIL -- these are the real issues college leaders need to solve WWW.ESPN.COM You may hear a lot of whining about NIL. But school presidents and college sports power brokers need to focus on the big issue -- the widening gap between the Big Ten and SEC and everybody else...
  12. Kentucky Derby. Got married @ 12:34 5/6/78, the day Affirmed won (last triple crown winner until 2015) Would love to go 5/6/28 on our 50th anniversary (as long as I can count to 8, I can remember it.)
  13. Per ESPN, here are the latest comings and goings for each school. You can skip down to Conference of Champions to avoid the irrelevant dribble. NCAA Division I men's college basketball rosters, departures, newcomers for 2022-23 WWW.ESPN.COM Your guide to roster movement, including transfers and NBA draft decisions, for all the top leagues and programs in men's college basketball.
  14. As you are finding out, our hearts have unlimited capacity for family love. I'm done with that generation at 5. However, I remember the first thing I thought of when my first grandchild was born was that my new goal in life was to live long enough to watch my daughter get to experience the same feelings. Congrats.
  15. Title game change should probably be instituted by Pac 12 ASAP. Never thought about the recruiting class issue, but with the NIL exoduses, expanding class size to re-gain scholarship maximums seems essential. NCAA oversight committee: Ease conference title game requirements, waive recruiting class size restrictions - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM The two proposed pieces of legislation will be voted on by the Division I Council later in May
  16. Of course, all of us would like to follow a dumpster fire in our next job. Oregon president Michael Schill: Q&A on the Kliavkoff hire and direction of the Pac-12 WWW.MSN.COM On May 13, 2021, George Kliavkoff was appointed the seventh commissioner of the Pac-12 Conference. To mark the one-year anniversary and gain insight into Kliavkoff’s performance, the...
  17. This really is the only vote that counts. Well, that and Nike'$.
  18. Way to rep the Ducks. Gano gets last laugh .... "When he said he was willing to give to that, I can be No. 9, and maybe in 10-15 years when he retires, and I'm still kicking, I can get No. 5 back" Giants rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux donates $50K to charity for Graham Gano's jersey number WWW.FOXNEWS.COM New York Giants rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux will be wearing No. 5 this season in New York, but it cost him a hefty sum to do so.
  19. I'll take the Ducks as an Over, and UCLA Under. College Football Win Total Projections For All 131 Teams: 2022 Spring COLLEGEFOOTBALLNEWS.COM College football win totals – the projection of what they should be after spring football and before what should be a wild summer.
  20. With only 3 recruits, how crazy is this? Oregon Ducks make strong early impression, jump into ESPN’s top-25 recruiting rankings SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Dan Lanning and the Ducks have jumped into the top-25 for ESPN's 2023 recruiting rankings.
  21. Utah all the way. A W over Georgia would be spoiled by an L to Utah. Deja vu tosu and Stanford games last year.
  22. Wichita State Shockers fire AD Darron Boatright amid criticism school can't compete in NIL market WWW.ESPN.COM Wichita State fired athletic director Darron Boatright on Wednesday amid growing criticism over the university's inability to compete... Shame on him for ... "They said it was Boatright's responsibility to ensure the school's donors were aware of the new rules and be prepared with incentives to retain current players and attract new ones."
