Read These and Weep- the Pac-12 Continues its Deep Dive
Steven A replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Being in a transition away from the "prevent offense" and "cuckoo clock time management team" might make us part the OOC failure next year which is an Ok hiccup. And it will probably be the last year of 9 games with the new Commish and the Alliance. -
I'm a fan, so is my grandson who was Dexter for Halloween (parents put a deadbolt on their bedroom door Nov. 1st)

Nix leaving Auburn where he was the #1 legacy recruit is very telling on the program in general.

Rating = OVER RATED in a lot of instances as stars change based upon who offers. Get your kids AND coach 'em up. -
Analysis: Is Dan Lanning an Upgrade from Mario Cristobal?
Steven A replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Per Fishduck "I believe everyone was served well, as Mario got to go home to a fat contract, while Oregon has the opportunity to take the next step." NAILED IT. -
So true. We have to play with the hand we are dealt. Youth is on our side.

Leach Says it's "Selfish" for Players to Opt out of Bowl Games
Steven A replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I am not going to fault the players one bit for opting out IF they have pro potential. There is no use risking your future for a bag of swag and bragging rights for boosters, alums and fans. They are not the ones that will feed your family in the future. I am sure we will never see an opt-out in the playoffs, or even a NY bowl. -
Wow, interesting article. And this explains why local sources, Canzano, Crepea, Feldman and Prehm, reported it wasn't a done deal after the Atlanta paper was reporting "the deal" on Friday.

Canzano: "Oregon Shooting BIG, Even Into the Great Unknown"
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Hope the background check only showed his alma mater, William Jewell College in Missouri, as his dream job. -

Switch to Chargers, go Justin

I think uw's hire was way below Laning, especially recruiting wise; UCLA, mixed emotions from them, a large number wanted Kelly off their hands; OSU, 'nough said about little bro; usc only one with more name recognition, but that would be true of anyone we hire.

In general ..... Mullens is keeping it close to the vest, so a lot of smoke. Lanning's name leaked by non UO sources. Could be other candidates that the names haven't broken yet. Lanning's brother live on twitter last night. No offer yet. Current Ducks and some parents took part. No bad mouthing of Cristobal from them, they understood going home which is a great take since these are kids away from home and parents. Chip re-upping ?? Wilcox mentioned.

This Coaching Search Might Go Until Sunday....
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
100% correct (of course, not sure how you can be less than 100% when you are correct) -
I'd bet my ex-wife's half of our ex-house on OU. (Well, if I had an ex-wife and the current one doesn't read my posts, so I don't think I'll be shopping for a new one after 43 years) That team wants to show Lincoln he made a bad choice leaving. The Ducks, I don't think they have the same moxie.

Latest from John. As you can see from the end of the article, his twitter will be updated. Canzano: What I know about the Oregon Ducks coaching search coming clear - oregonlive.com

Transfer Portal Will Be a Disaster For Student-Athletes
Steven A replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It is welcome to the real world Mr. Transferee. Enter the portal and you are now an “at will” student/athlete/employee. It reminds me of a line in Ghostbusters when the gang gets kicked out of the college and Bill Murray says something to the effect of going out in the real world or private sector “where they expect results.” -
But zero recruiting

Confirmed: Oregon Intends to Hire Chip Kelly
Steven A replied to McDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Two constants in life .... 1)Dyer was down (hey refs, not his leg but the elbow) 2) Kenny Wheaton is going to score
