I hope to see "the Lanning way", a combination of the Ducks legacy and the "2021 cards" that we are dealt, ie full use of relentless recruiting, NIL, & transfer portal. We all know Mario AND his staff were master recruiters. If Lanning and company are near as good, then we can assume an upward trajectory as we can also assume better game management with proper training/development and use of the players, play calling, and that little matter of CLOCK MANAGEMENT. Mario plateaued, no doubt. Playoffs = absolutely Natty = one can only hope. I remember when, from my time ('68 on), the Rose Bowl was pretty much a pipe dream. Hell, any bowl game was in the 60's, 70's and 80's. That first Rose Bowl, I told my wife this was a once in a lifetime event and I had to go. I started driving down I-5 without a ticket or place to stay. Within an hour of arriving at the official Duck hotel, I had both. I have never been happier that the Ducks made me out to be such a liar. It is now time for onward and upward.

Philosophically speaking, while we're at it, can we get a Socrates to share his cup with the fill-in-the-blank-prowessLESS team up north?

Also, there was a game wherein Sewel wasn't credited with a single tackle, yet he had an impact as always. -
"but these scholarships are solely for kickers, punters and long snappers and cannot be used in any other way." Meaning none of them are allowed on the field for any other purpose . end of story So, no Bill Veecking and seeing that long snapper also being used on KO, punt coverage, defense or backup tight end, etc.

Longhorns Throwing Shade at Oregon's New Coaching Staff?
Steven A replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Gotta admire a team that pays a coaching staff 15+ Mil per win (5 - 7) . . . . 25 Mil to buy-out Herman and his staff & 55 Mil for Sark and a new staff. Of course, Texas math will probably correct me that it is ONLY 11 Mil per loss. -
I too am sorry to see Joe S go. However, I'm sure he will land on his feet and if it is for less money, then I'm sure his contract calls for the make-up payment. I am not sure any retained coach would have any loyalty to the guy who left and didn't offer to take him with the "dearly departed/dead to me" former coach. Also, since "the buck stops" with Lanning, he needs to make sure he is confident with his picks whether they be entirely new, or some holdovers.

Heck of a resume builder.

Well, at one time we thought Joe Moorehead would unleash "his offense" now that MC is gone. However, our interim coach may be joining MC in Miami, so will he insist on AB and a pedestrian offense so as to not make his former, and soon to be current boss, look bad?

Even a Bad Bo is a Good Sign For our Ducks!

And remember Bo's numbers although similar to AB's, I think one of them faced a lot better defenses than the other. -
