  1. Yes, taking a field goal on one of those 4th down-plays near the Dawgs goal line would have gotten us a chance in OT. Two of them would have won the game for us. Hindsight frequently shows the most aggressive play is to take the sure points and leave the posturing for another time or the other guy. Just MHO. Your mileage may vary.
  2. What a comeback!! Wow. So glad I stayed up to watch even though Furd was behind 29 - zip at the half.
  3. Da U should have taken a knee instead of going for 3 yards and a cloud of dust on the last play of the game. (It's what da U does you know) ESPN, MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Miami should have taken a knee. It took a disastrous loss instead, as Georgia Tech turned a huge mistake by the Hurricanes into a last-second miracle. Haynes King threw a 44-yard touchdown pass to Christian Leary with two seconds remaining after Miami turned the ball over with the game all but won, and Georgia Tech stunned the 17th-ranked Hurricanes 23-20 on Saturday night. The Yellow Jackets went 74 yards in 24 seconds, just after the Hurricanes had the option to kneel down, likely run out the clock, win the game and remain unbeaten. Instead, Don Chaney fumbled the ball away -- Miami argued he was down, referees disagreed -- and the Yellow Jackets pulled off a stunner. "Not going to make an excuse for it, say we should've done this or that," Miami coach Mario Cristobal said of not taking a knee. "That's it. We should've done it. Sometimes you get carried away with just, finish the game and run it. I should've stepped in and said, 'Hey, just take a knee.'" I'm so glad he got that great promotion and went to "da U"
  4. Personally, I look for the 100-proof, bottled-in-bond variety. But that's just me. Sorry, couldn't resist.
  5. --Winner Oregon --Score 58 -15 --Turnovers Oregon creates 5 --Number of sacks Oregon records 4 --Passing yards by the Ducks. 315 (215 by Nix, 100 by others)
  6. This is the way I always do it. The last time I went, Sr. citizens rode the bus for free. Make sure you ask! Enjoy.
  7. --the winner: DUCKS --the score: 48 - 24 --turnovers Oregon creates: 4 --sacks Oregon records on TT: 3 --passing yards by the Ducks: 347 (247 by Nix - 100 by others) GO DUCKS!
  8. There has been a small amount of comment about this and I believe that might be a bit short-sighted. , Wyoming was very motivated and played well down the stretch and maintained their composure in the two overtimes, but if you look at the TT players even in Q4 as well as the OT periods they just weren't as crisp and they looked gassed. I hope it isn't true but I think the Ducks will see a much better 4th quarter TT team and we'd better be ready for that. GO DUCKS!
  9. I think it could be something completely different. I don't think he cares that we scored 81 points. He believes if he writes something glowing about the classy way we did it, how there was no drop-off when the 2's or 3's were playing, almost no penalties, no unsportsmanlike or taunting actions by the Ducks, just regular Duck football that PSU couldn't deal with. If he wrote that he'd feel like he's labeling himself or others MIGHT label him a Duck fan, or worse, a dreaded Duck HOMER!! He, can't go for that, can't go for that...no can do! (Apologies to Hall & Oates.)
  10. CU looks very real to me. Going to surprise lots of doubters.
  11. I watched some of that game and finally had to tune it out because the announcers were such HOMERS. They kept telling me what a great fit Mari was for the U and how his plan to bring it back to prominence was a 3 to 5-year deal and he was certainly the right person for the job. I finally couldn't stand it anymore and turned it off.
  12. If I'm not mistaken, those responsible for this brand are the same ones responsible for the NIKE brand for the last 40 years. Weiden+Kennedy. Nothing like having the A team working on your stuff. GO DUCKS!
  13. Watching it happen will make the journey much more interesting, but watching it not happen will make the journey much more painful. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome. GO DUCKS!
  14. I'm glad to see this thread. I enjoyed it too. Well worth a watch.
  15. I think they should both shoot from the line they are used to shooting from. That way neither has to practice and learn a new shot, which could affect their shooting in regular games. The differences in distance are tiny and would not really be an advantage for either player. I for one, am eager to see it. I think Sabrina shoots the lights out again.
  16. I know we have less than a month to go. I know soon we will be hip deep in all the things that accompany the football season. I realize that I am only one of a sea of Duck fans that want to get on with it. It, being the planning, the scheming, the conjecture and the actual popping pads, thrilling runs through the line, the short screen passes and the long bombs and runs that drive the fans wild. The intercepted passes, the QB sacks and the stops at the line of scrimmage. All that stuff. I am going to find a couple of David Baldacci books to occupy my time for the next couple of weeks because I can't stand it!!!!!!!!!!! I need to see some FOOTBALL and all the old MadMike games will no longer provide relief. Rant off. Go Ducks!
  17. To this, I would only say, beware, the geeks are out there and being mistaken for AI might be their greatest compliment. "Just sayin!"
  18. Be very careful what you wish for, particularly with this wild-eyed group of legislators.
  19. I guess I am sort of surprised I am the only one that liked this. Maybe it's because I couldn't image Matt Damon as anyone except Carroll Shelby before this, and I have a soft spot for NIKE because I live a mile from their HQ. Oh well, I still think it will be great.
