How to Cook a Steak: I’m Disappointed in Dan Lanning
Exactly! American Standard could put Weber and Igloo out of business in one felled swoop if they weren’t so good at making toilets.

How to Cook a Steak: I’m Disappointed in Dan Lanning
I think I would prefer to live in a van down by the river and use this grill rather than live in a complex that doesn’t allow outdoor grilling. Keep in mind that this is coming from a guy who hasn’t cooked a holiday meal in the oven in years. Everything is done on the Kamado or smoker. This year it’s a fresh ham. It’s been brining for the past 5 days and it will be ready to smoke on Christmas Day.

How to Cook a Steak: I’m Disappointed in Dan Lanning
There are very few steaks that can be cooked on the stovetop. The fancy French stuff that CalBear brought up and chicken fried steak. However, pan frying a steak should be a misdemeanor at best. Punishable by a small fine that can be waived in lieu of taking a grilling class.

How to Cook a Steak: I’m Disappointed in Dan Lanning
Agree to disagree (except on your cuts of meat). Beef tastes better when cooked over natural wood with just sea salt and cracked black pepper. Although, finishing the steak in a cast iron pan with butter is acceptable, but only if the pan is on an open flame. If DL continues to cook steaks like that we won’t have to worry about UT or A&M ever trying to lure him away. He won’t be allowed residency in the state of Texas.

How to Cook a Steak: I’m Disappointed in Dan Lanning
It should be illegal to cook a steak indoors in a pan on the stovetop. I guess this is what happens when your life is consumed by football and you don’t have time to watch shows like BBQ Pitmasters or The Pioneer Woman to draw inspiration.

BREAKING: 4-Star WR Jordan Anderson Decommits from Oregon
This article tells me a lot of things I didn’t know about the recruiting process. We always hear about the guy who “de-committed” or “flipped” from one program to the next. What I gather from this article is that there are programs that “de-offer” and flip to a better recruit. This isn’t something we hear about, but likely happens. This is the kind of thing we’re not used to in Eugene, but I’m sure the “de-offer” manifests itself in the form of an unattractive alternative such as a gray-shirt or an incentive based NIL deal that is unreachable. With the transfer rules we have these days it looks like an early offer means about as much as an early commitment. And that’s OK. Except, you don’t want the reputation as a programs that pulls scholarship offers at the last minute.

Can Someone Explain Aaron Fentress?
Helfrich was to Oregon what Barry Switzer was to the Cowboy. Or if you want to use a CFB example, what Larry Coker was to the Miami Hurricanes. These guys carried the torch for their predecessors, but everyone knew their time was short. For Helfrich, the 2016 season was his demise, but he was as good as gone after 70-21. No CFB coach from a program that has an ounce of self respect survives a loss like that to a hated rival. As for Fentress, he said it all when he said the conference championship was won with Helfrich’s players. Two other coaches came in and never had a losing season with his guys. If any coach should have gone 4-8 with those players it was Taggart. Losing Herbert for six weeks really put him behind the eight ball. However, he managed a seven win season. That should tell you how bad of a coach Helfrich was.

Walter Nolen ... Do We Really Want This Guy?
I don’t think we have to worry about it. He’s down to one school and that’s Ole Miss. Oregon is in the mix because he needs a second hat to lay on the table when he makes his “dramatic” choice. It reminds me of DJU making his choice between Clemson and Oregon. Duck fans knew there was no chance of landing him. Good thing, too. Mario would’ve destroyed his confidence.

Oregon Legacy WR FLIPS From USC to Oregon!
A signed NLI for LDS’s used to mean something before the new transfer rules. Bair has no real reason to sign one because neither he nor the university will be beholden to it. Something tells me he’s going to end up at BSU or BYU in a couple of years.

Oregon Legacy WR FLIPS From USC to Oregon!
Good flip, but this tells me that Bair is most likely going to be a Wolverine.

Only one left to sign his NLI is Mothudi. It appears that he won’t sign until 3:00 PST.

Did Anyone Watch the Bahamas Bowl?
I find it best to talk about it openly and not keep it bottled up. It’s also a great retort for the “Oregon treated Helfrich too harshly” crowd. This and 70-21.

Breaking: Transfer QB Dante Moore to Oregon
I have a feeling Novosad will be moving on. I hope he sticks around for the Fiesta Bowl, though. We’re running low on backup QB’s.

Did Anyone Watch the Bahamas Bowl?
I saw a bowl game one year where a team was down 31-0 At halftime and came back to win in three OT’s.

Report: RB Jay Harris to Transfer to Oregon
Mizzou has one of the best RB’s in the nation in Cody Schrader. He spent his first 3 years at Truman State. Sometimes guys take a few years to develop.

Huskies Got Their Penix Replacement...
He was an Air-Raid QB in high school which is why he did so well in Leach’s offense. This year, Arnett tried to switch to a more conventional system and Rogers did not play well. DeBoer’s system isn’t the Air-Raid, but it is pass heavy, so Rogers should do well. His stats indicate that the more he throws, the more accurate he is. This could be due to all of the short throws in the Air-Raid.

Where Will Troy Franklin Land in the NFL Draft?
FYI, that’s Trikweze Bridges in the photo running off the field with Bo. Franklin will probably go in the 2nd round which is a tremendous value for a team. However, if he runs 4.3 or better at the combine it could bump him up to the 1st round. He doesn’t get enough credit for his speed. Compare film with him and the rest of his WR competition. He is the only one who was consistently behind the defenders. I looked up 40 times and he’s definitely the fastest WR on the AP All-American teams.

Yikes: Oklahoma Fans on Fire about Oregon Taking TWO of Their Players?
I find it hard to believe that Venables was their second choice. Then again, he was not in good standing after ditching OU for Clemson. Who could blame him? He was forced to share his job with Mike Stoops after he got canned by Arizona.

Crap. RB Dante Dowdell Transferring Out
He’s going to end up being really good like Benson.

Does Bo Nix go in the First Round?
Teams may not value his arm strength. He might not be able to make all of the throws. They might think he locks into his primary receiver too much or doesn’t read through his progressions very well. They may think he does fine when he has all day to throw behind an elite OL, but he freaks out under pressure like he did at Auburn. They will definitely do their due diligence. Value wise, he’s probably a 3rd rounder. However, there is always the possibility of somebody valuing him a round earlier or a round later. A drop to day 3 might seem unlikely, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Does Bo Nix go in the First Round?
They had Verone McKinley as a mid to late rounder. He went undrafted. Bo could easily slide with a bad combine performance.
