  1. SEC fans are salty that Oregon is still ranked 6th, but say nothing about 7-4 Tennessee being ranked 21st. Utah is also 7-4 but unranked. However, only one of those two teams beat Florida and Tennessee’s best win is against a 5-loss team (UK).
  2. No matter the uniform I would’ve preferred that Spencer Webb been wearing it on Friday night for his last game at Autzen.
  3. Washington has been saying the same thing. I hope we get a rematch and settle it. Win or lose it will be a fair fight in a climate controlled, neutral environment. No excuses for either team. Gotta beat the Beavis first. I hope OBD don’t get caught looking ahead. They haven’t so far.
  4. I think Mario thought we were booing AB. Nope, that was for you and your shallow crossing routes on 3rd and 12. If you go to the CanesInSight forums you see the same complaints you saw on this site 3 seasons ago. The thing about Mario is he always gave us hope with his recruiting and healthy hatred for Washington. I think he’s still salty about the fact that they diminished one of his national championships by laying claim to half of it.
  5. I don’t see how he’s any better than TT13. He only has a year left and he has to learn a new offense.
  6. This award is voted on by humans and I don’t think those humans can overlook JD’s rushing yards. If LSU didn’t have him they would probably be a 3 or 4 win team.
  7. I would normally think that Bo winning the Heisman would tick off the Auburn fans, but they’ve got enough things to be mad about right now. Like getting their teeth kicked in by their week-12 cupcake they scheduled as a warm up for the Iron Bowl.
  8. As far as playoffs are concerned, FSU will have to win the rest of their games with the backup quarterback. However, next week’s game is against Florida who also lost Graham Mertz for the year. I hope Louisville shows up for the ACC championship game.
  9. I watched the game from start to finish and Miami was tackling late out of bounds the entire game. It looks like their aggressiveness got the better of them. I do think TVD is a good QB but a victim of the system.
  10. You’re right. He likes to open it up in meaningless games. He waits for bowl games to grind it out against average defenses.
  11. This is Washington’s last challenge before next week’s scrimmage vs. Wazzu. They’re going to sell out tonight because they know they’re officially eliminated from the playoff with a loss. I think they win by a TD.
  12. Miami is actually letting TVD throw the ball. They have 14 points in the first quarter. It’s amazing how that works out.
  13. I don’t know if the committee is too keen on putting two SEC teams in the playoff. A one-loss UGA teams wouldn’t have a very strong strength of schedule. Their only wins against ranked teams would be Mizzou and Ole Miss. Tennessee will drop out of the top 25 after tonight. I’m still pulling for the Dawgs, though. If they beat Bama that diminishes Texas’ only good win. Of course, this is all for naught if the Ducks don’t win out.
  14. If I’m going to lose him then I’m going to pay him to keep him from walking. It’s a calculated risk that I would be willing to take if I’m Lanning or Mullen.
  15. The positive impact of that loss in 2019 is that it allowed guys who suffered through the 2016 season to end their careers on a high note. Losing by 5 TD’s to LSU wouldn’t have been as fun as winning the Rose Bowl
  16. Oregon is #2 in total offense. This is a product of not only great talent, but making the right offensive calls at the right time to get the ball in their hands. Bo might cover up a few warts that may exist with a less experienced QB because he’s like a coach on the field. However, that’s also a product of a good QB Coach (Stein). I’m sure DL will do what it takes to keep him around.
  17. There is a very simple answer to this question: Jill Cohen. His priorities shifted once he started dating her in 2015. He no longer has all 24 hours in the day to dedicate to football.
  18. 37-13 Ducks 1 TO 4 Sacks 299 yards passing
  19. If Oregon wants to run with the big dogs they need to pay their assistants accordingly. This means paying them enough to keep them from taking G5 jobs and making lateral moves as assistants on other P5 teams. If you look at the top 20 paid coordinators in the link below they all make around $2M/year (Tosh makes around $1.7/year). That said, there are a few G5 jobs that pay over $2M, but I’m speaking in generalities. That kind of money won’t keep them from taking HC jobs in the P5 conferences. That’s where Saban, Meyer, etc lose their assistants. Some have made lateral moves, but those have been driven by personality differences. Guys like Pete Golding, Tosh, Nussmeier and Mario left because they either disliked working for Saban or he told them he was replacing them. In the case of Brent Venables, he left OU for Clemson because Stoops hired his brother to be co-DC after he was fired from Arizona. It was a lateral move and OU could’ve matched his pay if they wanted him to stay. Oregon can and should match Stein’s offers up to the going rate for top coordinators. However, if A&M wants to over-pay then I wouldn’t match their offer. https://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/assistant
  20. With all of the anticipated movement this year it looks like some G5 jobs could be coming open. Jimbo is gone and it looks like Dave Aranda is standing by to be fired by Baylor, so that leaves two possible openings for Jeff Traylor from UTSA. My guess is UTSA might look at someone who is familiar with their program and who also is killing it on the coaching front. This is where Stein comes in. He’s young, but that’s where programs have been trending lately. There will be plenty of more jobs as well if Chadwell and Fritz move up from Liberty and Tulane. It would suck to lose Stein, but his resume is playing out on the national stage, so he will get scooped up sooner or later. Maybe this year. I’m sure he’ll get a raise, but that might not be enough to keep him from a head coaching job.
  21. We’re sure getting our money’s worth out of those chrome lids this year.
  22. I saw a comment on a story earlier that stated: ”Never pay a man who goes by Jimbo any more money than what is required to fix your car.”
  23. This is a great video. Pate always has his finger on the CFB pulse, so I find his stuff very informative. The biggest takeaway from this is when he said he knows “definitively” there are coaches in the mix that aren’t on anybody’s radar. We’re talking Riley to USC type of stuff. It’s at the 5:30 point in the video.
  24. I really don’t think A&M is serious about DeBoer. He’s a great coach, but they need someone who can recruit Texas and the South. DeBoer hasn’t done a really great job of recruiting the West Coast. Transfers are fine for filling gaps, but you need a solid foundation.
