  1. They had better be willing to spend it on a stadium on campus. They also better be willing to lower their entrance scores for student athletes. As of now, athletes are held to the same standards as other students. This isn’t the 80’s and 90’s anymore. And don’t bring up 2001. That was solely due to Butch Davis’ loose interpretation of NCAA rules. Just look at his record at UNC.
  2. “The U” needs much deeper pockets if they want to match Uncle Phil. That is, if PK wants to keep MC around. I’ve heard he’s willing to do what it takes to keep him. Miami is probably looking for the alumni discount.
  3. The Beavs stink on the road but this isn’t the typical road game. Lots of orange in the stands at Autzen. It’s a hard fought battle like last year, but Oregon drives down in the final minutes with a 7 point lead to seal it with a FG. Unfortunately, Lewis shanks it and Beavis goes on to tie it with a solid 2-minute drill. Oregon gets the ball first in OT and Lewis nails a 37 yarder. However, Beavis gets a TD for the win. Beavers 30 - Ducks 27 0 TO’s created 2 sacks 207 passing yards.
  4. I guess I could handle getting Peterson if Mario were to leave. However, we must be ready for Jimmy Lake to come with him.
  5. Chris Petersen is 0 for 2 against Mario. I know who I prefer.
  6. The big question is why have the last 3 coaches failed so badly? What is going on at Florida that has caused it to become a black hole for football coaches? It could be a bad administration, meddling boosters or both. Maybe they were just all and coaches.
  7. That’s awesome. The Zags had another big man named Collins a few years ago who could move like that. The Blazers drafted him, but he didn’t do much. He may have come out too early. I think he’s with the Spurs now.
  8. I always thought skinny, big men were a thing of the past (Bol Bol?). However, there are some decent big men out there who can dominate a game.
  9. First of all, I’m glad you’re not the AD. Second, Utah was the better team on Saturday and still is. They are better than Oregon at every position but DE. Just because they had 3 losses doesn’t mean they stink. They only have one loss since Rising took over and that was in Corvallis which is where teams go to die (thank goodness we’re playing in Autzen this weekend). It would be a safe bet to put your money on Utah to represent the PAC in the Rose Bowl. Saban couldn’t have coached Oregon to a win on Saturday night. They only have like 7 Seniors and they’re down 11 starters overall. 9 wins is a good showing for this team.
  10. If Oregon loses then I won’t really care, but I lived in Spokane for 14 years. Therefore, the Cougs always have my allegiance in the Apple Cup.
  11. I was well aware that Rich Brooks did well in Lexington. I am also aware that Mike Belotti and Helfrich were pretty good on TV (Helfrich still is).
  12. I’ve been waiting for these two Freshman (Franklin and Thornton) to get more reps. I wasn’t too concerned when I heard Redd and JJ were out because the young guys have a lot of upside.
  13. I know he didn’t need much convincing to stay near home (word is he’s a MSU lean). However, we can all be sure that so long as MC is a hot name for open jobs, other coaches will use that fact to try and lure his recruits. It’s all part of the game.
  14. Yes, but his NEXT job after Oregon was the Rams. A job in which he was fired. I call it The Curse of the Duck.
  15. First things first. Every Duck coach who has left Oregon has failed miserably at their next job (Belotti included). I don’t know why, but these are the facts. Second, if MC takes the Gator job he’s going to get 3 years to completely turn it around. This means beating Kirby and Saban. He will most likely be gone in 2 years if he posts .500 or below records. He better negotiate a massive buyout. Third, Miami can’t pay him what he can earn at Oregon and they have terrible football facilities. He also has to deal with getting recruits who can qualify academically. Miami is a lot like Stanford and UCLA in that respect. It’s just not as easy to win there anymore. I’m not saying he won’t leave but Oregon has a lot of upside if he decides to stay.
  16. Correct. The only person who should be making Saban money is Saban. Mel Tucker at $9M/year still baffles me.
  17. Not too shabby for a guy who was only Honorable Mention on the 2019 All-Pac 12 team.
  18. I think “The Courteous Skirmish” is also kind of catchy.
  19. True. How about we switch “aggression” with “antagonism”. That might be a better name for the uw game.
  20. The War of Northern Aggression. After all, Corvallis is north of Eugene.
  21. Kiffin wouldn’t come here. He’s being courted by all of the SEC teams. He’ll be making Saban money by the end of the season.
  22. Does anybody know how long it took Dabo Swinney to get his team to a championship level? It took him 7 years to get to a championship game and 8 to win one. It took him a bit to get the right players and coaches together. If MC ever leaves it will be tough sledding in Eugene for a good while. For one thing, we are second fiddle to the SEC in pecking order for available coaches. We also have to find someone who won’t use Oregon as a stepping stone to a better job. That’s hard to do unless they’re from the West Coast. Long story short. Give the man some time. His team is young, which is why I think he stuck with a Senior QB. He is also dealing with a ton of injuries. There are 5 starters missing on offense and 6 on defense. If anything, he needs to look at what is happening in the strength and conditioning program and assess how how and why he is losing players in practice.
  23. That shouldn’t be too hard based on their performance this weekend.
  24. Yes, it is ridiculous. Especially the Kellen Moore prediction. He’s ripe for a HC job in the NFL. There’s no way he’s going to uw. Personally, I think the Cowboys should fire McCarthy after the season and hire Kellen, but Jerry doesn’t listen to me. He never has. Furthermore, I think football is a dying game on the West Coast as a whole. I think you’re going to see it removed from a lot of school districts and become more of a club sport. Fewer and fewer kids out West are playing the game due to the stigma of injuries. West Coast parents have always been more progressive while folks from the Midwest and the South still have an old school, blue collar mindset. Football is a huge part of their culture and some communities live and die with their HS football teams. In fact, I’ve met quite a few kids from the South who played HS football strictly because their parents made them. It was done more to teach them discipline and hard work.
