Lanning Meets with Harrington: A Good Thing?
Wood Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think Lanning meeting with former players or anyone really, (assuming he is mostly listening) is just expanding his knowledge, and no knowledge is wasted. More knowledge is always an asset. I'm all in favor. -
All the Oregon Players to Have a Super Bowl Ring...
Wood Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Russ Francis never got a ring with those Niner teams? I thought he played in the same era as Michael Walter. -
THE Most Important Two Hours as a Duck Fan...a MUST!
Wood Duck replied to Log Haulin's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
My thought as well. I'm not sure what it takes to keep them around after some success. They seem like such a great group of people working together, it almost feels too good to be true. Their recruiting success so far shows the level effort they've poured into such a short period of time. I was impressed at the high praise each one of them had for Lanning. It says a lot about his character. The passion of Dillingham and Locklyn really stood out in their interviews. If these guys can get the players to reflect the demeanor and attitudes of this coaching staff, we're gonna' see some scary good, dominant teams in the not -too-distant future! A Natty? I'm beginning to think it WILL happen here. -
If a kid can't get excited to play for this guy they have no soul. Like Log Haulin said about Dillingham, listening to Lanning makes me want to put on pads and go fly around the gridiron, and I'm just a rickety little old man!

My brother-in-law got about 100 bricks from when they tore the Delta house down. They now form a small patio and fire pit at our cabin on the Siuslaw.

That was one serious ass whuppin'! Ducks were swarming on defense, excellent ball movement at the offensive end. Paopao looked unstoppable, and Prince was deadly with the mid-range jumper. Seeing them play with this much effort is fun to watch, and if they continue to play like this, they may become a juggernaut. Sure hope Sabally didn't have a serious injury.

The longest yard with Burt Reynolds and North Dallas Forty with Nick Nolte.

Unable to score right at the rim. Excellent free throw shooting keeping them in the game. (Are you watching, Duck Men?)

Willpower can make up for a lack of power in many other areas, for sure! "Sure you can, you just have to believe in yourself!" - My neighbor teaching her kid to ride a bike

I suppose we'll have to wait and see how good this new group of coaches is at evaluating talent and choosing which players they see as best at each position. Hard to imagine not seeing TD as a top RB based on his on field, in game performance.

Buttsniffers... thats funny! Considering how bad the Fuskies have been, are we sure we want any of 'em? -

Georgia D No. 99... looks like a supercharged human steamroller. Look out! -
Wednesday night was like watching AB all season: half drowning my sorrows and half celebration. Tonight is all celebration. Happ new year everyone!!!

I had to wonder if (Franklin?), through past experience, just didn't expect that pass to be thrown, and was caught by surprise.

Two-Back Sets in the Kenny Dillingham Offense
Wood Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Reminds me, some of OU's o-linemen looked like two guys stuffed into one uni.! -
And thus endeth the AB paradox, shape shifting, Jekyl and Hyde. His game stats were surprisingly not too bad. Thank goodness there was always TRAVIS DYE. Glad the team showed up for the second half. Here's a toast to the future (raises a glass of The Glenlivet) Yay!

And he could come back for another season!

Kickers Deserve Scholarships, Too
Wood Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I don't know if Josh Bidwell ever had a scholarship, but he sure deserved one. That dude was a beast of a punter, and kept OBD in a few games with great punts when the offense was stagnant. I believe he even made a few TD saving tackles, if memory serves. -
Mycah Pittman Explains Why He Decided to Transfer.
Wood Duck replied to latracey's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
AB was never mentioned, but I frequently thought I saw open receivers downfield on a lot of pass plays that ultimately ended with AB tucking and running, or checking down to a receiver short of the line to gain. Maybe that was a large part of the problem that wasn't stated? Not so much that there weren't enough passing plays called, but that AB couldn't find his receivers, or hit them when he did see them. -
Analysis: Is Dan Lanning an Upgrade from Mario Cristobal?
Wood Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
That's something I really enjoyed about Chip. I thought he had a pretty funny sense of humor. -
About 15 steps from the beer fridge mostly!

I'm excited about this hire. I think he has a ton of upside. His lack of HC experience is somewhat concerning. He seems like a solid character, I like his energy. I think it will be reflected on the field. My grade? I'll give him a B for now. Great OC and DC will raise it to an A.

I like what I've seen so far. (Not much!) After watching the video linked, did anyone else think he sorta looks like a bulldog?
