  1. I'm rooting for a conference championship and possible playoff run but this is becoming a team I can get behind win or lose.
  2. Luckily, learning and improving is what this team's about from the top down unlike Mr Physicality.
  3. I was extremely impressed with WSU. They did not look like they thought of themselves as underdogs in this game and played that way. That is 100%on the coaching staff. WSU will not only factor in to the conference championship winner, they may even be in the conversation themselves. I still say they should be ranked!
  4. Remember when wins felt like losses? Glad those days are behind us. I think when history looks back at the Lanning era, this game will be thought of as a corner stone of what he built at UO. An absolutely impressive win against a very formidable opponent in an hostile environment. Great job Ducks!
  5. Now teams are going to have plenty of tape of Mario coaching two different teams with multiple different coordinators showing the same tendencies time and time again. Every game he coaches now will just be adding to the blue print on how to beat him. UO just made more adjustments thoughout one game than Mario has his entire career.
  6. The Ducks just found a way to win the toughest test on their schedule until the fuskies come to town. If they can just continue playing at this level, they should get there at 8-1. WSU should have been and still should be ranked. Regardless of what the polls say, they basically just pulled off a come from behind victory on the road against a top 25 caliber team. If WSU played #25 Miami, who would you bet on? If the Ducks continue improving on D they should be ready to compete in their final three games which are the toughest ones on the schedule. I think the way the offense, defense and coaches all had to dig deep to pull off this victory will go a long way towards building a conference champion mentality.
  7. Touch down Beavers!
  8. The forecast calls for Hurricane Mario to batter Miami for the next eight years. Damages expected to exceed $80,000,000.
  9. I think we see some new blitz and coverage packages unveiled this week. I think the D will look more aggressive and closer to Lanning's vision of what he want the D to be. Also I see this team hitting it's stride just in time to host those fuskies!
  10. I'm now contemplating the ACC/ Pac merger. I think that combined with an ESPN/ Amazon media deal plus extra profits for NY6 bowls and March Madness invites could keep the Ducks happy with staying put and have SC and UCLA singing the blues.
  11. It seems like Lanning is installing his defense piece by piece. I expect to see a couple new wrinkles this week designed to create a little more havoc in the passing game.
  12. Even better is Oregon has given up 14 points with the game one the line in two games and 20 points in garbage time though they went into that mode a little early against BYU.
  13. It's unfortunate that many in the Duck fan base don't share the founding principles of decorum that we share here on this board. It's one thing to help provide an enthusiastic game atmosphere with loud pumped up cheering and quite another to degrade an opponent or their fans with bigoted chants of any sort. As for punishment, that's a tough one. I would focus more on those that incite such behavior than the those that use poor judgment and go along with the crowd. I'm sure the majority of those that did partake in the chant feel that they went way to far and feel remorse and won't do it again. That would be my hope anyway.
  14. I'd say if he stays fine. If he leaves fine. I'm down with who ever the coaching staff feels deserves playing time. Who ever leaves because of those decisions would have been the back ups anyway. It is up to TT to begin the TT era. If he can't beat out a returning Nix or an incoming Moore, then that's the way the cookie crumbles. At first I was wondering why transfer running back Bucky Irving was getting prime reps above the guys we expected to get those snaps. Now I'm just glad we seem to have a solid starting RB with a good group behind him. Guys will continue to transfer out and in to the program and the team will soon turn into a roster that reflects the direction of the coaching staff so it's all good in the end to me.
  15. Yes. WSU deserves to be ranked and Ducks deserve a playing three ranked teams in four games narrative. If Vanderbilt started out 3-0 with a road win over a ranked Big 10 team, they’d be ranked.
  16. WSU deserves to be ranked for this game.
  17. Hope you enjoyed your stay BYUTexan. Good luck to BYU for the rest of the year!
  18. Dumpster fire: 2016 4-8 with70-21 loss to Huskies. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
  19. I predict google sees a spike in the search for "how much is Cristobal's buyout?".
  20. Hard to believe the Ducks went from dumpster fire to the Lanning era because of two back to back dream jobs in Florida!
  21. When an unranked SEC team beats a ranked SEC team, they'll usually just take their place in the rankings and the loser will drop a couple spots. With WSU, they just dropped Wisconsin from the rankings and ignored WSU all together. Oregon getting ready to play their third ranked team in four games SHOULD be the story line this week but no.
  22. I checked out a little Miami message board this morning and saw some familiar themes. First, fans are puzzled by the sudden regression of their star QB. They've gone from expecting a Heisman chase to wondering if he should be benched and what is wrong with him. I'm sure Herbert can diagnose what's wrong. They are also scratching their collective heads at the conservative play calling from the offensive coordinator. For a guy that had so much success at Michigan, they're confused what the heck just happened. I'm sure Joe Moorhead can help them solve that riddle. Mario basically said they lost because they didn't physicality enough which is how he throws his own players under the bus for his poor coaching decisions. Oh well. Let the buyers remorse begin.
  23. I learned this coaching staff can game plan. Much like UGA did to the Ducks, they came out and set the tone early on both sides of the ball. I learned this coaching staff can problem solve week to week. Nearly every flaw that UGA exposed week one has been addressed and improved upon. I learned the starting D is becoming the real deal fast. They have given up only two TDs in their last 6 quarters of play. I learned that the O has too many play makers to everywhere making focusing on one thing to stop difficult. Distributing the ball to so many running backs and receivers and tight ends gives the other team nothing and no one to focus on to stop. Brilliant game planning. I learned that talk has become walk for this Ducks team and I'm actually excited about football again!
