  1. Even better is Oregon has given up 14 points with the game one the line in two games and 20 points in garbage time though they went into that mode a little early against BYU.
  2. It's unfortunate that many in the Duck fan base don't share the founding principles of decorum that we share here on this board. It's one thing to help provide an enthusiastic game atmosphere with loud pumped up cheering and quite another to degrade an opponent or their fans with bigoted chants of any sort. As for punishment, that's a tough one. I would focus more on those that incite such behavior than the those that use poor judgment and go along with the crowd. I'm sure the majority of those that did partake in the chant feel that they went way to far and feel remorse and won't do it again. That would be my hope anyway.
  3. I'd say if he stays fine. If he leaves fine. I'm down with who ever the coaching staff feels deserves playing time. Who ever leaves because of those decisions would have been the back ups anyway. It is up to TT to begin the TT era. If he can't beat out a returning Nix or an incoming Moore, then that's the way the cookie crumbles. At first I was wondering why transfer running back Bucky Irving was getting prime reps above the guys we expected to get those snaps. Now I'm just glad we seem to have a solid starting RB with a good group behind him. Guys will continue to transfer out and in to the program and the team will soon turn into a roster that reflects the direction of the coaching staff so it's all good in the end to me.
  4. Yes. WSU deserves to be ranked and Ducks deserve a playing three ranked teams in four games narrative. If Vanderbilt started out 3-0 with a road win over a ranked Big 10 team, they’d be ranked.
  5. Hope you enjoyed your stay BYUTexan. Good luck to BYU for the rest of the year!
  6. Dumpster fire: 2016 4-8 with70-21 loss to Huskies. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
  7. I predict google sees a spike in the search for "how much is Cristobal's buyout?".
  8. Hard to believe the Ducks went from dumpster fire to the Lanning era because of two back to back dream jobs in Florida!
  9. When an unranked SEC team beats a ranked SEC team, they'll usually just take their place in the rankings and the loser will drop a couple spots. With WSU, they just dropped Wisconsin from the rankings and ignored WSU all together. Oregon getting ready to play their third ranked team in four games SHOULD be the story line this week but no.
  10. I checked out a little Miami message board this morning and saw some familiar themes. First, fans are puzzled by the sudden regression of their star QB. They've gone from expecting a Heisman chase to wondering if he should be benched and what is wrong with him. I'm sure Herbert can diagnose what's wrong. They are also scratching their collective heads at the conservative play calling from the offensive coordinator. For a guy that had so much success at Michigan, they're confused what the heck just happened. I'm sure Joe Moorhead can help them solve that riddle. Mario basically said they lost because they didn't physicality enough which is how he throws his own players under the bus for his poor coaching decisions. Oh well. Let the buyers remorse begin.
  11. I learned this coaching staff can game plan. Much like UGA did to the Ducks, they came out and set the tone early on both sides of the ball. I learned this coaching staff can problem solve week to week. Nearly every flaw that UGA exposed week one has been addressed and improved upon. I learned the starting D is becoming the real deal fast. They have given up only two TDs in their last 6 quarters of play. I learned that the O has too many play makers to everywhere making focusing on one thing to stop difficult. Distributing the ball to so many running backs and receivers and tight ends gives the other team nothing and no one to focus on to stop. Brilliant game planning. I learned that talk has become walk for this Ducks team and I'm actually excited about football again!
  12. It feels like everything is in place for a special season even in year one. I loved seeing how pissed Lanning got at those late scores and put the first string D and O units back in to finish strong. He is a real deal leader and learning fast on the job. The BYU coaching staff does an awesome job of coaching up players as well as in game decision making and Lanning and staff out coached them all game long. This team is heading in the right direction and heading there fast.
  13. Canes fans are waking up in a Vegas motel room with a raging hangover wondering who the heck they just married last night. And on the day the Lanning era really kicked off. Sorry Miami. No refunds on that 8 mill buyout. Good luck for the next eight years.
  14. Great breakdown. To me, this looks like a battle between UO's higher ceiling vs BYU's higher floor. That always seemed like the underlying theme between those classic UO vs Stanford match ups. Can't wait for this one!
  15. Seems to be working for me on a laptop with firefox browser..
  16. Great take SnickSnack. Long term, I’m seeing the Big Twelve as the odd conference out. Geographically, they are primed for easy pickings by The BIG and the SEC for the remaining upper tier teams. The Utah BYU rivalry would be an awesome addition. Throw in a Texas team or two (Texas Tech, Baylor, or Houston) and San Diego St and Fresno St and all of a sudden, you have a pretty solid conference.
  17. I think Moore is rated the number one or two QB in this class. I’m pretty sure he won’t feel threatened by a second year guy struggling to start ahead of an average QB. Darren Thomas lead the Ducks to a championship game, then a Rose Bowl victory. He still left early to avoid being replaced by Mariota. When you’re the cream, you’ll rise to the top.
  18. I am curious about the state of mind of BYU fans have towards joining the Big 12. If the Pac 12 invited BYU to join and a yearly rivalry game with Utah could be had, would they prefer that? Do they enjoy conference independence and are disappointed about joining any conference? I'd really like to hear the thoughts of BYU fans on this.
  19. Oops. After watching that video , I now have a wall I need to rebuild!
  20. When it comes to USC and fuskies. I wouldn’t say I root for them as much as I just don’t want them to blow I for the conference.
  21. I’d have to throw USC vs Fresno St on that list. Blowing out Rice and scoring 41 on Stanford has sent the Troy boys shooting up to #7. I need to see what their offense does against a solid D before I consider them a legit top 10 team.
  22. I don’t mean to demean TT in any way and hope nothing but the best for him. That said, he seems like just another guy when on the field. Dixon, Masoli and Thomas all had an it factor leading the team that I haven’t seen in TT. I was also wanting him to get his chance to shine but now I’m kind of whatever about it. Prove me wrong TT please!
