  1. Mari-Noooo at halftime: "Okay guys, we need to change things up...they are on to us. For the second half, we are going to go crazy and run the ball to LEFT side of the center. It will completely fool them!" Assistant Coaches: "Uhh, they have been stopping that on the right...how will going to the left change anything? Mari-Nooooo: "Because we are going to do it with PHYSICALITY!!!
  2. So Colorado is sitting at 1-6 in conference, 4-6 overall. Oregon derailed that train my friends!!!
  3. UW is turning into USC north on the defensive side.
  4. Or in the LB category.....or in the DB category. They have a good marching band.
  5. Forget the rankings!! Get em Utes!! So to put this in perspective: Oregon WENT into Rice Eccles and only allowed Utah to score 6 points. Utah has COME into Husky Stadium and has put up 21 in the first half! Does UW have a defensive issue?
  6. Winner - DUCKS! Score - 56 - 28 Turnovers - 4 Sacks - 4 Passing Yards - 322 Bonus: Caleb Williams will be unable to finish the game.
  7. Interesting article from the perspective of a LB from USC after the UW loss. If you don't want to peruse the entire article, I have cut his quote and pasted it here: DL would NOT allow this attitude. That is what makes him such an incredible asset. Ignoring a bad game does nothing for developing players. I honestly cannot believe that this behavior is acceptable to a college level coach. Yeah, your defense stunk it up as it has done all season. Allowing a player to dictate what film study is done does NOT prepare them for the next game. And while I am on my horse, this does NOT translate well to life skills either. Much to learn at that University. USC football's Mason Cobb's brutally honest admission amid Michael Penix Jr., Washington debacle CLUTCHPOINTS.COM The USC football defense did not perform well against Washington, and the result clearly had a big effect on...
  8. So, it appears that Oregon's D wasn't the only group that locked down Shadeur Sanders. https://www.si.com/college/colorado/buffs-social/shedeur-sanders-reportedly-has-rolls-royce-booted-by-cu-campus-police All I gotta say is that I am glad OBD don't have to deal with this issue!!
  9. Here, you guys take our coach to make your team worse and we will take your QB that your new coach made worse and turn him into a dark horse Heisman candidate. Oh, and you can keep the coach.
  10. Truth is, you won't be able to gut and reshape the defense in a week. Scheme may be a little different and the new guys may call plays little different but the coordinators coached the players they way they have been playing. I honestly don't think we will see much of a change next week.
  11. Riley to Grinch: Sorry buddy, I gotta let you go. We're having a hard time scoring enough points to keep up with the other team. Grinch to Riley: So why not fire the OC for not scoring enough points? Riley: Great Point. I'll hire you when I go to the NFL. Keep your phone on.
  12. Wow. That is a GREAT question. Truth is, I was NOT a fan of Bo coming to Oregon because I didn't know enough about him; only that he had struggled at Auburn. Fishduck mentioned Tyler Van Dyke from Miami and that's a solid "maybe" for me. In a different thread, I mentioned Quinn Ewers if he leaves Texas. But one guy that I would keep my eye on comes from DL's former program and that is Brock Vandagriff from Georgia.
  13. I totally see what your saying here. I guess from my perspective, this was NOT the outlier of his reactions. His reaction to the Utah loss, to sit on the bench and not go to congratulate the winning quarterback, reactions to the Tulane loss, to the TWO Utah losses last year, and don't get me started on painting the obscenity directed at Utah on his fingernails. I can completely chalk it up to pouring everything out to win and the sheer emotions pouring out of you when you see all you've worked for down the drain. However, as a GM, is THIS what I want to see from my franchise quarterback? Again, I don't know because I have never been a GM.
  14. You know what interesting about this reaction is that there are a media folks who are saying "that looks like a man who wants to win and if I am a GM of an NFL team, that's what I want". I guess. I've never been a GM or a scout. I would say that from my perspective I would rather see a guy that jumps off the bench after a loss, walks to the middle of the field, congratulates the winner for a job well done and then leaves the field in dignity. All the emotions can certainly come out in the locker room, but to have this reaction be the face of my franchise?? I dunno. I just think this has more of the "Mommy, they didn't play fair" vibe to me versus "I am SICK of losing"....could be my USC dislike showing there.
  15. As I stated earlier, I thought TT threw some good balls and he seemed to enjoy himself out there last night. Now, the harsh reality is that next year (IF he is our starter), he will be facing some defenses in the BIG that are loaded with talent. If I knew we had Bo going into next year, I would not be worried one iota. But TT? Let me just say that I would like to see him play a full game against say Portland State or maybe Sheldon High School before I am willing to hand over the keys to the Ferrari. I'm certainly NOT in the QB room or on the practice field and he MAY be the guy. I just haven't seen enough "go out and win the game" stuff from him. "Go out and close out this 28 point lead" scenarios are much easier to produce in.
  16. What's crazy about this poor kid is that he was projected as a possibly 3rd or 4th rounder in the draft. Under "that joke of a coach, but he's a great recruiter" individual in Miami, I think he has seen his draft stock drop. Now, I have ANOTHER crazy proposition for you. Those fickle fans down in Texas are screaming for Arch Manning to play. The issue is that they have a pretty good guy there now (albeit his is currently injured) by the name of Quinn Ewers. As crazy as it sounds, what if Dan "The Man" Lanning could lure Quinn Ewers out of Texas to Oregon AND Ewers could face the team that he initially started with in Ohio State. Now granted, I know he is from Texas and has family there and wanted to play in that horrid Orange color...but hearing all the fans calling for Arch Manning probably has taken a little of that nostalgia away. I know, I know it sounds crazy...some southern kid who has always wanted to play for a certain team leaving that behind to come to the Pacific Northwest and play for Oregon...but hey, it COULD happen....Right??
  17. First off, I want to start my own T-Shirt business selling Caleb Williams post-loss facial expressions. It's priceless and you get the impression that he wants to throw his apple juice against the wall and crush up his Cheerios on the carpet mat. So, what did we learn today. Well all undefeated teams stayed undefeated but none looked particularly impressive. FSU struggled against Pitt, Georgia struggled with Missouri, Rutgers gave Ohio State some fight. Michigan did handle a 2-6 Purdue team in spite of what they have going on. Overall, I think the Georgia win looks the best of the undefeated teams. Washington's win over USC is decent but USC won't be ranked after this week and they are starting to look a little like a stepsister to the Colorado hype train. Utah's win was awesome and just makes what Oregon did to them that much more impressive. Of course, I am biased but Oregon had the most dominant win today.
  18. The zip on his ball was what impressed me. Also, he looked like he was really enjoying himself out there and that's awesome to see. I mean, having a 4 TD lead when you come in should take some of the jitters away. Heck, I would have a smile on my face if Lanning said "hey, old guy...go in there and finish the game.'
  19. Let me just say that I am happy Oregon hired DL and that Wilcox is coaching Cal. This quote makes my heart happy:
  20. 63 points. Wow! Not even the greatest game either. Sloppy, allowing a defensive touchdown to Cal...and still, 63 points. See, this is what a CFP bound team (yep, I said it) is supposed to do. Put away a weaker opponent, even when you aren't playing your best game.
  21. All I will say is if everything breaks Oregon's way, can you imagine this defense with weeks to prepare for any of the other CFP contenders?? DL will have them so dialed in!
  22. I am not certain if this was posted already or not, but it bears repeating even if it was. Whether you like Joel Klatt or don't (I do, he is generally not homer-ish about teams and gives great insight), his analysis postgame of OBD is awesome. It is amazing to hear his praise of DL, the defense, the offense, and the team as a whole.
  23. From what I have seen of the Huskies the last two weeks, Penix is not well. That doesn't bode well for the Alpo Snarfers. There is "Who I want to win" and "Who I think will win". I WANT UW to win so that Oregon has a rematch with them in the PAC-12 championship. But, I think USC is gonna pull off a major upset here. This is gonna be a shootout and my money is on USC in that case. Defense isn't really gonna show up (my opinion) and that CERTAINLY helps USC as they are still waiting to see their defense play this year. Now that I have said my prediction, the game will end in a 9-9 tie...go figure.
