Confirmed: Oregon Intends to Hire Chip Kelly

Remember when Chip Kelly would scream and yell at fans behind him while doing interviews after games. At least we have that to look forward to again. -
Confirmed: Oregon Intends to Hire Chip Kelly

Mobilize guys. Email the athletic department and send tweets protesting this. Call in the morning. I just fired off an email. We need to stop the rehiring of Chip Kelly now to save the football program. We'll look just like UCLA over the 5 years if Chip has his way. We'll be another easy game for USC and Utah if Chip comes back like UCLA. -
DJ probably saw that Chip Kelly is getting rehired. Can't say as I blame him for bailing. What a mess!

The opposite of magic in fact. -
The way I see it you're committing to the school and the tradition at the school.

Aliotti embarrassed himself when he got on Mike Leach's case calling him "low class" for playing his offense hard even though the game vs. Wazzu was over. Aliotti didn't like he had to keep his starters out there because Leach refused to wave the white flag. I knew Aliotti's coaching days were limited after that and no way he can come back to coaching after coming across as so arrogant. -

Chip was once a great innovator and a heck of a college coach. No longer. The game caught up to him and other coaches are doing what he did and then some. Chip's better than MC though but who isn't? MC is a joke. Chip's "magic" is what we've seen in UCLA over the past few seasons -- mostly garbage and a lot of losing. That's what Chip would most likely bring to Oregon -- more garbage and more losing. I don't think Chip has even beat Utah once while coaching UCLA. Plus Chip walked out on us during an NCAA investigation. That's unforgivable. We need a coach like the guy from Cincy. It's Fickell or bust. -
Any player decommitting right now or entering the transfer portal shouldn't be allowed back. You either want to play for the Ducks or you don't. Anyone trying to weasel their way back in later, tell them to go to Corvallis.
-
I still think the coach from Cincy would more interesting to interview. But it looks like the guy from BYU may have an offer. No way he's going to turn down Uncle Phil to stay at some little podunk school in the middle of nowhere.
-
I hope the folks doing the search are looking at everyone and the top options like Fickell. Truth is we haven't got the head coach position right since Chip left.
-
Cincy's Luke Fickell is the answer to our search. I'm surprised his name hasn't come yet. He just led Cincy to the CFP and he has a hell of a W/L record and he's young. Uncle Phil, let's take a look at this guy. If he can get a lousy program like Cincy to the playoff, think what he could do in Eugene.

I wanted Kiffen for awhile but I changed my mind when I saw this video today. He really was a dumpster fire at USC. This looks like MC vs. Utah.
-
If you're serious about winning a title, go to a coach who's won a title. Urban.
-
Oregon football is in shambles because of MC. He took a blowtorch to the place on his way out just before early signing. I don't remember a coach doing this ever at Oregon.
-
Then how will the O and D lines be strong enough not to get pushed around and beat at the line like they did vs. Stanford and Utah?
-
If Uncle Phil really wants a natty in Eugene, he could get this done. Offer Nick Saban double his salary and his own Nike shoe that he gets the royalties. We'd have that natty inside 3 seasons and the likes of Saban would never lay an egg vs. Utah.

Doing business with family can cause problems.

MC was never a true Duck. In fact, if you pressed him, MC would likely tell you that he tought Roboduck was a good idea.
-
Wow, even the kicker's jumping ship. The fire MC lit on his way out continues to burn hot.
-
I'd support Neon Deion as long as he could double as a punt returner and the head coach.

Kalani Sitake from Brigham Young interviewing for the job?
Warrenton replied to Warrenton's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It's sounding like Kalani Sitake has accepted and is interviewing. He is a very real possibility and perhaps a probability now. Brigham Young will not be able to match the salary Uncle Phil offers. It's a done deal if our side decides to hire him. Don't worry about the Mormons either. I have a second home in Park City, UT and they're not really all that bad. I have plenty of friends.
