  1. Heard it was very few fans ... one article said as little as three people. Either way what would get into your head to think that was a good thing to do? I do wish that instead of saying Oregon students all of the articles would point out how few it actually was and not say they were Duck students if they are not 100% positive. I used to spend a lot of time in Utah and met many Mormons ... nice people! Sorry they had to hear that pathetic garbage instead of being treated as guests in beautiful Eugene. Most Oregonians are really cool ... what a bad reflection caused by a small percentage of idiots.
  2. Sometimes cliches don't always work. Sean Dollars said that the team needs to get 1% better every practice. After getting beat 49-3 I think to reach their goals they need to improve at a higher rate than 1% per practice! Would say they need to improve by 75% by the time they play BYU. I have faith they can get it done. They do have talent and the new coaches will help them find their way. Stay optimistic fans.
  3. Good article and you point out what is true in almost every aspect of life. If something wouldn't have occurred or if we had not met that right person that helped send us in a positive direction things could be much different. One of my big ones is that I happened to see a well know company and I pulled off the freeway and applied for a job. Now over 30 years later still with them and it has been a good ride. I used to go to Duck games when they were guaranteed to finish towards the bottom of the PAC and a win was not getting blown out by the better teams. I remember trying to get friends to go to games (like the 0 - 0 tie with OSU) and people saying "no thanks, they suck." I went to Shreveport and watched them play Tulsa in the freezing rain. All good times and will be a fan however they play as I have such a positive connection to going to school at the U of O. Some great times and the degree has definitely helped me in life. The end of the day I want them to do well but it really is still just a bunch of young guys playing football doing the best they can with their God given ability. So no matter what will continue to support them and have fun watching the ups and downs. Of course ... winning is much better!
  4. The Georgia roster has 14 five stars and 59 four stars. They don't do the transfer portal so they have a bunch of elite players that have put a lot of time into learning their jobs. Plus, they get to go up against other great players in practice. With our new staff and less talented players learning a new system it just doesn't add up to being competitive. They would crush us in Eugene if we played them again next week. Hopefully this just turns into part of a story in the future highlighting how much the Ducks have improved. I think it will.
  5. If we let people run down the field wide open we could lose to anybody. I think the word for what we saw today was porous. Those with more football knowledge than me was it a matter of bad coverage or no pressure on QB which makes it tough to stick with receivers? Whatever it was it sure was ugly.
  6. I did a quick check and see EWU projected mostly in 5th and one in 6th. I am going to the game with a friend who played QB for them. He is trash talker and if EWU pulls out a win it will be a long day sitting next to him. Hope the Ducks come out with something to prove and get a big win. Maybe this beatdown shows how far the Ducks improved by the end of the year. Can't get over how ugly that was ... damn.
  7. EWU picked to come in 6th in their conference (whichever that one is) so if we lose would be pretty epic failure. They are currently in 29 - 29 tie with Tennessee State at EWU. The gap in talent should be close to what we had to witness today but in our favor.
  8. Think Georgia is that good and biggest difference is we have some great players at certain positions and they have great players at every position. They are deep and we would have lost to their second team. SC winning easy but Rice had 133 yards rushing in first half. How many yards rushing would Rice have against Georgia? Utah struggling to move ball against unranked Florida team. P12 has a long way to go to get competitive with the powerhouses.
  9. Well at least you can't blame this loss on anybody as they are just totally overmatched. We had a neighbor that was a MLB pitcher for 14 years in the 60's and 70's. He used to say "sometimes the other guy is good too." In this case sometimes the other guy is way more talented. Hopefully we can recruit to this level to play with the elite teams in the future.
  10. Looks like worst beating since 45 point loss to ASU in 2003.
  11. When was last team we took a beatdown this bad? And some questioned the line on this game!
  12. We are as outmatched as we were in 63-0 loss at Nebraska in 1985.
  13. In the days of short attention spans that find me checking my phone for texts, shopping for louvered pergolas on my laptop, and changing channels on my TV to find a new show (since I have already watched everything recommended by Rotten Tomatoes), all at the same time, that was so well written (unlike this long grammatically challenged sentence) that I finished it in one uninterrupted reading! Great writing!!!
  14. Crazy money in car dealerships ... making record profits over the last two years. Many have more than doubled average profits. Lots of people paying MSRP plus plus plus. We must have some Northwest dealers that love their Ducks! Step up and give away those cars!
  15. Damn ... heard the term fair weather fan above and think about sitting thru 1983 zero/zero Ducks versus Beavers. Tried talking friends into going but no takers. Weather sucked and I sat thru the entire game. Times much better now!
  16. No thanks. Would rather give money to a charity that actually has some impact on things that matter.
  17. That is a good short energetic video! The level of work required to be a D1 athlete is tough and the commitment of these kids is impressive. In addition to all of the time put into practice and working out these kids mostly do a good job in school. Plus, they handle more media questions than ever before and come off like seasoned pros for the most part. Sacrifice is a thing that most of us admire but are not willing to do at the level of these players. Speaking for myself I know I could get my golf index from a 9 to around a 5 if I worked on my short game versus just banging balls at the range. Also, the last ten pounds I have been trying to lose will only come off if I make deeper changes. Maybe I need to play more motivational videos in my life to truly sacrifice like these players do!
  18. Funny that it is even a question. With all the issues in the world this doesn't seem to be a big problem. That said, no real reason to include cheerleader pictures as this is more of a site to talk about football and if somebody wants to check out the cheerleaders there are probably plenty of other options.
  19. I am going 11 - 1 with the loss coming against Georgia. I believe we have more overall talent than any team we play except the Bulldogs. The new coaching staff is going to have the Ducks playing at the level they are capable of performing.
  20. I think Bo is going to have a big year. He looked good in the spring game and is highly motivated to make this a great year before hopefully heading off to the NFL. I remember reading the George Leonard book on mastery many years ago. His graph showed the normal progression of improvement heading to mastery. This is going to be the year that Bo's positive attitude, hard work, and athletic abilities contribute to him taking a jump on the mastery chart. The talented OL and WRs will also help him tremendously. He is going to be one of the big stories of the year as he finally reaches the level many predicted for him. Plus, it is going to be fun to watch! The Master
  21. Don't like it either and it is crazy what college sports have evolved to versus what we used to enjoy. That said, I can see how anybody would want more money versus less money. If I like a couple of schools and they are both close in mind I would certainly use an extra $500K or $1M as a tiebreaker when making my final decision. Let's hope we can compete to keep him.
  22. It always seems to me that SC is overrated every year but thought it might be my Duck bias. Sure enough I came across stat that Trojans actually are one of the most overrated programs in the country. Since 2009 they have been over ranked nine times and under ranked three times when comparing preseason to final year ranking. The highlight was 2012 when they started year as #1 and did not finish in the top 25.
  23. SD State would be great from a selfish fan standpoint. Would you rather go to a beautiful new stadium in a nice part of San Diego or to the crappy old Coliseum in the worst part of Los Angeles? Also, San Diego State currently has the best team in Southern California so you get the added bonus of playing better competition. Put SDS in the P12 and their recruiting will significantly improve. As a golfer SDS would make a good weekend trip for an away game. Plenty of excellent courses. As a bonus, lots of good restaurants in areas that are safe to walk at night. Fun city. I have reached my limit of saying I like SDS joining the P12 so no more from me on the topic. Everybody have a good week.
