Who Wants to See Oregon in the PAC 12 Championship?
LADuck replied to Legion's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I want to see them in the game but think with an injured Nix they lose by a lot. If Nix were healthy I think it would be a great game but unfortunately we will not get to see that happen. -
I think a healthy Bo Nix can make an OC look better than they may actually be. Not saying KD isn't good but having a QB playing NFL ready does tend to make you look smart. Ducks will find somebody good and as McDuck said maybe one with more experience that can help DL with game management situations.

Yes hard to say no to it. Make a ton of money and even if you are not a good HC you still have guaranteed money. Hopefully no recruits follow him and ASU continues to suck.
-
WSU 31 UW 28 .... feels like I may be overly optimistic but trying to stay positive to hopefully not the bitter end.

College football is awesome but some parts of the modern era not so good. We give a coach very good money and he does one year and out. Zero loyalty. If we don't make the Rose Bowl may have some key players opt out of the game. Used to be you went to a bowl game all the players showed up and it was a good time for everybody. Oh well ... not much you can do.

Canzano: Ducks-Beavers Rivalry Name-Game is Tired

How about back to the Civil War but with disclaimer. Canzano: Ducks-Beavers Rivalry Name-Game is Tired
LADuck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
OK ... problem solved. I went into Thesaurus.Com and typed in the sentence "Oregon plays in the Civil War this weekend." The first three options with changing Civil were: "Oregon plays in the Civilian Bowl this weekend." "Oregon plays in the Domestic Bowl this weekend." "Oregon plays in the Governmental Bowl this weekend." All great options so maybe we create a poll and go with the winner? I like the Governmental Bowl. We can put a large tax on the tickets and give the fans nothing new in return. LOL -
Why Was Oregon’s Defense More Successful Against Utah?
LADuck replied to lownslowav8r's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think the Oregon D turned a corner and we are going to see a continuation of this excellent play against the Beavers. In the book Mastery the author talks about how improvement many times does not come gradually but makes a sudden leap forward. My take is this is what took place with the Ducks and they are getting the feel for playing together in this new defense. The Ducks have a lot of talented players that have bought into learning and they will continue to reap the rewards of their hard work. Next in line after the Beavers is USC. An impressive showing against a prolific SC Offense will have elite recruits lining up to play for Lanning. Man the future looks bright for this program. -
That was impressive. Injured QB battling and D stepping up for the win.

Can the Oregon Ducks Beat Utah Without Nix?
LADuck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think if Thompson starts he is going to surprise us with a good performance. I think he has talent and given the opportunity he will get in flow and make good things happen. He will have time to throw thanks to a great OL and his receivers are going to be open. When they get a little space TT will utilize his 5 star arm and zip it in before the defender knows what hit him. I can see it now! -
Husky Writer Gloating About Injuring Bo Nix
LADuck replied to WaterPoloDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The bad thing about the internet is that pretty much anybody can become a writer. That was so poorly written that I could only make it to the half way point. Not exactly Red Smith or Rick Reilly. -
Makes me feel even better about Lanning hire. Strong endorsements from two coaches I respect. Also, you can learn a lot about people when they lose and Lanning handling it like a real leader.

WATCH: Dan Lanning Postgame Press Conference | Washington
LADuck replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I like our coach and the way he handles himself even after a tough loss. Some things could definitely have been done better especially with the benefit of hindsight. I think the Ducks will come out and play a great game against Utah and get the train back on the track towards the P12 Championship. -

As my old neighbor who pitched 14 years in the big leagues and played against Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Roberto Clemente, etc. used to say "sometimes the other guy is good too." Nix doesn't get hurt we win but UW did play a good game. -
