  1. I vote for Oregon in the Fiesta... self serving as that may be.
  2. Before I read the list of top schools, I was about to say that, so far, I had only been to one Big-10 game... 2000 @ Wisconsin. Best college football experience ever. And with Joey at the helm, we came oh-so close to pulling out the win. I cannot say enough about the total gameday experience in Madison. Their traditions are unlike anything I had ever experienced, the Wisconsin fans that we ran into were great, and like Eugene, the campus is beautiful. I'm not going to even try to explain what elevated it so much. It's really just an experience you need to go and enjoy for yourself. Now I will say that this game was in early September, so the weather was fantastic. But I'm not so sure I would enjoy a November 16th game there quite as much, given that you might just end up freezing your equipment off.
  3. Bill Walton in the 1973 NCAA Championship Game: 44 points 13 rebounds 7 blocks 21-22 FG Bill Walton at UCLA (1971-74): • 20.3 PPG • 15.7 RPG • 5.5 APG • 2 National Championships • 2x Player of the Year • 3x Consensus All-American • 3x NCAA All-Tourney Greatest college basketball player of all time.
  4. What many people do not remember or know is that Bill had a terrible stuttering problem until he was about 28. Given this, the poor guy hated the cameras and did everything he could to avoid speaking to the press. Clearly... and I mean beyond clearly ;-), the dude more than overcame this challenge. He shares some of his story in the following link. It's more than worth a read. https://www.stutteringhelp.org/famous-people/bill-walton
  5. Dang... knock it off! 😉 "You're not going to make me cry, Roy." So sad that Ronnie wasn't allowed to slam it home at that time. What an incredible flood of memories.
  6. "Ambushed On The Oregon Trail" -- As a kid growing up in Eugene at the time, I will never forget that game. And even though we despised UCLA, we all loved Bill Walton. You will be missed, Mr. Walton. Thanks for so many amazing memories.
  7. To have participated in, and survived, one of those great battles as a gunnery officer onboard a destroyer, let alone all four of those brutal and legendary battles, is utterly incredible. And after 98 years, to top it all off in joining three of our nation's great president's -- Adams, Jefferson, & Monroe, in passing on July 4th, is one exceptional story. To your father, and his many fellow warriors from the Greatest Generation, we all owe a debt of gratitude to which we can never repay.
  8. Regarding playing the Beavus again. Allow me to be brief: NO In fact, if I may expand that ever so slightly: H#%L NO Thank you.
  9. We'd be doing WSU a favor by allowing them the gift of playing us @ Autzen... every once in a while. The only time I want to be remotely near Martin Stadium again is perhaps on my way to Coeur d'Alene or Jackson Hole.
  10. Absolutely. Going forward, we should always schedule relatively light OOC games. What's good for the SEC, should also be good for Oregon.
  11. Oh man... so darn close. Another nice late season run after such a tough and challenging year.
  12. Great comment & video. The problem with the Pig-2 having been welfare recipients with their hands out there now for decades, is that once they quickly run out of OPM (Other PAC Money), they'll have virtually no idea how to survive. I'm tellin' ya... it ain't gonna be pretty when we effectively see them on the side of Highway 99 picking up can & bottles, and holding up cardboard signs that say: "Need More Free OPM." (OPM has an opium like effect) And of course, they'll still go nowhere near a mirror, and they will continue to blame everyone & everything else for their demise.
  13. Dang... I should have run with it 😁. But hey... More PAC-12 March Madness -- We're now 6-0!
  14. I just hate it when I make a speeling error. It's downright embarrassing. I don't suppose anyone would buy it if I attempted to bs my way into saying that I was making some sort of "Nobel Prize" tie in.😉
  15. Kentucky's HC Calipari: “I’ve got all my coaching buddies call, and they say, ‘I love your team.’ And I love this team too. We’re built for March.” Calipari said. Yeah... built to get bounced again in the first round and enjoy March from the comfort of your man-cave at home. And as the Master FishDuck sez: "I never said I was nobel."
  16. The Best and Worst from Day 2 of March Madness WWW.SBNATION.COM Two thrilling upsets, our first overtime game, and a healthy heap of high-flying offense highlighted day two of the NCAA tournament. Absolutely love this quote: "Greg Sankey just had to open his mouth. He just had to very publicly imply that the tournament needs to be tinkered with, and that giving automatic bids to smaller conferences is wasting them. Well, look what you did now you absolute buffoon."
  17. Kentucky & Auburn getting bounced are two of my favorites so far. To quote a legend, "I never said I was noble."
  18. This has all the earmarks for what should be a great game tonight. Can't wait.
  19. That GCU last 3:30 was painful to watch and downright ugly. Frankly, it was just very poorly played. They are fortunate that SMU did not have any time outs remaining after the 3:30 mark. GCU won't be able to get away with that kind of late poor play again. They need to learn how to use the clock, and they look like a JV team when trying to inbound the ball. Still, what a great win for their program. And James Madison... another lower seed excellent win too. March Madness!
  20. I know we've only completed the first round so far, but I'm amazed that the PAC-12 is 5-0. Can't wait for the game tonight. GO DUCKS!
  21. Love the Lopes. That's great that your kid goes their. One of sons went their and graduated a few years ago -- and he loved it. Great school, environment, and amazing facilities. But enough Lopes talk... GO DUCKS!
  22. GCU Baby! First NCAA D1 tourney win since moving up in 2013.
  23. I just felt the need to underscore those numbers this morning.
  24. Holy cow... The former Gamecock went off. What an insane, incredible, performance.
  25. Did Couisnard just score the most points by a Duck in Duck NCAA tourney history? I'm not positive about that, but if he didn't, he was darn close.
