These days, for top tier teams, I think it's kind of the playoffs or nothing. I'm a Duck lifer & we now live in the Phoenix Metro area. But to be honest, I'm not at all excited about going to the game --- against Liberty.
-
I'm still wondering if there will be more than a handful of Duck fans going to the game. I haven't heard anyone from our forum say that they are going.

He started out with his first play call at Oregon with a time out... BEFORE the game had even started. In my entire life, I had never seen that one before Mario. Mighty Rutgers 31 - Mario Miami 24

What If...the Huskies Make Oregon Look GOOD?
Desert Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Allow me to sum up: Hell No! I'm pulling for Michigan to win by 1, scoring the go-ahead points as time runs out, and thereby ripping out their vile, purple, hearts. So, other than that, Merry Christmas, peace on earth, goodwill to men... except the Huskies. Amen. -
The Fiesta Bowl is a Must-Win Game for Lanning

Heck -- I'm now kind wondering if any other Duck fans besides us will even be going to the Fiesta Bowl. I haven't seen anyone else from forum say that they're going. -

That was won of my favorite college football games of ALL TIME. In the words of the poet, "I never said I was noble." -

CU Later? Buff Fans INFURIATED with Dan Lanning
Desert Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
CU reminds me a bit of our 'courageous' little chihuahua when he's at the dog park. He loves chasing and yapping at the big dogs... when they are running away from him. But the moment the big dog turns around, our little tough-guy turns tail and runs like his hair is on fire. But unlike CU, our little dude is actually pretty darn adorable -
The Fiesta Bowl is a Must-Win Game for Lanning

It doesn't look like Troy has made an announcement publicly either way. Btw, after the initial shock of us getting the shaft of having to play Liberty, there was a lot of talk about us Oregon fans supporting the program. So, I'm still wondering who around here is going to show that support by going to the Fiesta Bowl? Or if are we going to be sitting in a half empty Glendale stadium. -
I was about to update my comment and say that I just read some of your latest posts. Thank you for the information and it was very helpful. So, with that question put to rest, who on the board will coming down for the game?
-
I have not been paying much attention lately, so pardon me if the following may have been covered in detail. But I'm wondering what key Duck players, in addition Jackson Powers-Johnson & Troy Franklin, will not be playing on New Years Day? I'm also wondering who from the board is coming down to the desert for the game?

Hopefully, you are right. I just realized that I was making an assumption.

Who is going to be left to play with Bo on January 1st?

2023 Oregon Football: Agree on These Reflections?

Wow Jon... what a great article. You are also a gifted writer. I wish I had more time for a longer comment, but I just have time for a drive-by this afternoon. Thanks again, and have a great weekend. -
5-Star OT Jordan Seaton Announces Surprise College Commitment

We'll likely see Seaton looking to make a move to Oregon in about 12 months. -
Ducks Face the Liberty Flames on Jan. 1
Desert Duck replied to anyotherduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I started checking out tickets this morning for the Fiesta Bowl. And on top of us winning the 'honor' of playing that perennial powerhouse Liberty, I realized that this deal just keeps gettin' better... New Years Day - 11 am MST / 10 am PST start time. But then suddenly the words, "First World Problems," hit me upside the head. Okay... that is all the whining I have to share this morning. -
So, do you truly think the Ducks didn't 'want it' bad enough?

Ducks Face the Liberty Flames on Jan. 1
Desert Duck replied to anyotherduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Just when I thought I was beginning to accept our horrendous fate to play one of the worst teams to ever possibly play on New Year's Day, I then read Bill Oram's spot on article. There's just no other way to slice this... Oregon has been utterly given the biggest middle finger by the playoff committee that I think I have ever seen. Although FSU was spectacularly abused by them today as well. -

Please, take you time. It's takes time to digest a cow-pie sandwich like this one. We all completely understand. -
I am highly confident that there is no way that this smart young man is playing without a huge safety net under him, in the form of an extremely large insurance policy, paid for by donors. And I am really excited that he is going to play.

I hear ya and I hope you are right... but after Washington, I'm going to be a bit more humble and let the Duck's play on the field do most of the talking.
