Michigan has had the ball 1st and goal from inside the five yard line on 3 different occasions. And they've come away with only 6 points. TCU defense has been exceptional.

It's really quite shocking. I just don't understand why the three of them just couldn't get along.

Their defense has been shockingly impressive. Just locking it down.

No NCAA game, let alone a bowl game, should ever be played again at that baseball stadium. No wonder the Chargers left Sand Diego.

To me, TCU just looks like they really are 'that good'

Even without the Pick-6, TCU is just looking so impressive early... both their defense & offense. They nearly dug themselves a terrible early hole, but their defense rocked Michigan at the goal line. TCU up 14-0 early

I miss "7-W Cutty" at Washington... and those three consecutive 7-6 seasons he had there. He done great at Texas the though... 5-7, and 8-5. He's almost averaging his magical average of 7 wins per season.

7-W Cutty Sark went completely bat-crap-crazy for a moment there... went from 0-100 mph in nothing flat. I'm just glad he didn't blow out his one of his carotid arteries... or for that matter, that one of his eyeballs didn't pop out.

I love 3 star recruits like Lowe... and Justin Herbert and Marcus Mariota.

All I know is that Lewis had one of the most accurate kicking seasons for any Duck kicker in program history. 14-16 FGs 64-64 PATs

Exactly. My first Duck game ever was when I was a kid in 1973. Oregon v UW @ Autzen. Montlake Mutts 56 - Oregon 0. It's seemed to go on like that almost for about forever. Until about the time "The Play" happened.

Your logic is fair and reasonable. But for me, this is where logic is overruled by my utter dawg disdain.

I can't stand the Willamette River Rats as much as the next guy, but I was still able to pull for them to win their bowl game. But no way I can do it for the Montlake Mutts.

As much as I love to root for the Pac-12, especially during the bowl season, the Huskies are my one exception. I just can't do it.

Yeah... it definitely got me too. It's odd how that Oregon rain can sometimes even get into our offices. It's so nice to read something like this, especially when there is so much darkness going on in this world. There are more great stories like this out there to be found. I wish the writers would look for more of them.

In Joey's day, from 1998-2001, with a bowl game, they played 12 games. All props and thanks to Joey for leading the Ducks to 10-2 & 11-1 seasons, respectively, in 2000 & 2001. Those were some great teams, not to mention that our 2001 Ducks got screwed out of playing in the title game -- and likely would have beaten Miami. But playing 13 games and winning 10, is still a big deal. Especially in a rebuilding year.

Just the fact that our last 2 bowl wins have had identical scores of 28-27, and have been in So Cal, is kind of odd. By no means do I place any credibility whatsoever into numerology, and I never buy lottery tickets, but perhaps it might be time I pick one up 😀

That field has almost always absolutely sucked for football... and it's certainly not getting any better. The NCAA should never play another football game at that baseball field.

And since Lewis did call "bank shot," I'm pretty sure that PAT is worth 2 points.

I think this is an excellent Canzano article. He makes a lot of fair and strong points. I love how he defended Camden Lewis on that last, and insane, extra point kick. "To be fair to Camden Lewis, he kicked the game-winning extra point from a cow pasture. Some careful readers pointed that out to me on Wednesday night. Lewis lined up on sandy turf at Petco Park, planted his foot, and kissed the football off the left upright — and through — for the win." Lewis cracked me up after the kick as teammates were congratulating him, but he was waiving them off. Sort of like saying, "I don't deserve any love for that one." But, for those who understand the game a bit, we know he deserves huge props. As Canzano points out, for the 2022 season, Lewis went "64 for 64 on PATs and 14 of 16 on field goals and was a bright spot this season." The kid just finished the season as having one of the all-time best single-season kicking records in Oregon history. He's only a junior, so I sure hope he will be back next year.

I love "strange" observations and stats like this. I don't know exactly why, but I just do. Does anyone on occasion warmly refer to you as "Cliff Clavin"? I get that on occasion and proudly accept it 😉.
