  1. One of the most glaring questions I have is: "Just how bad are our backup QBs?" To have left Nix in ALL GAME, for what was truly a terrible performance, AND a historically horrendous season opening game, I think begs this question.
  2. Well... it's been an interesting one today. I'm signing off and taking my wife out to dinner. In the midst of a lot of Duck pain today, a lot of you have displayed some excellent humor and made me laugh. For that, I am appreciative. I hope you all have a good evening.
  3. No worries at all. Thanks again for all you put into this. And by the way, if some of my "glass-half-empty" comments crossed over a bit to the dark side today, feel free to delete them 😉
  4. LOL. Sadly though, it was 1974 @ Nebraska 61-7, followed by 1975 @ Oklahoma 62-7. I just checked back as far as I could find the scores, which was 1916.
  5. This cryptography might just be the thing to turn the season around. I would encourage you to forward this on to coach Lanning to share with the team.
  6. Hey, at least we didn't make history today. Although, it was the third worst opening season loss we've ever had.
  7. Along the lines of "I'm looking for some remotely positive Duck news after todays total annihilation" --- I'm not exactly sure I found it. After getting completely trashed and losing by 46 points, my fear was that this may be the worst opening loss our Ducks have ever had. However, I believe I have a little bit of good news, and that is going back 106 years to 1916, we have had 2 opening season beatdowns WORSE than today. I know... I'm such a glass-half-full kind of guy.
  8. 21/37 - 173 yards - 8 carries for 37 yards. Sorry, but even if we leave reality behind and pretend he didn't have 2 picks, those numbers are still rather pedestrian.
  9. After today, I'm pretty confident that everyone around here is 100% in agreement with you.
  10. Okay... that's just downright hilarious. But that picture is about the equivalent of a 49-3 opening season loss.
  11. I will say that in the midst of the pain, I am finding some good humor around here.
  12. But Charles, on another perhaps rather positive note, it sounds like you had about three times more people on the board during the game than you expected. So that's good news! And I'm looking for good news wherever I can find it at the moment 🙂
  13. Amen & Amen. If my gut bomb breakfast didn't give me a coronary, my beloved Ducks nearly did. Thankfully, they pretty much put me out of my misery by halftime 😉
  14. LOL... While I see very little wisdom remotely come from California these days, after this game, I'm thinking you might just be onto something 😉 Clearly, my gut bomb breakfast did nothing to help.
  15. But I genuinely appreciate your attempt to find some hope by using this comparative. Boise State did go on to have a 14-0 season... so they were a good team. The thing is, I expect that Oregon will have a rather respectful record at the end of the season against Pac-12 competition. The bummer there is that this may show how truly poor the quality of football that the Pac-12 has become.
  16. We'll definitely do fine... in PAC-12 competition.
  17. We lost by 11 to Boise State. We lost by 46 today. I can't even begin to remotely compare the two.
  18. Unfortunately, we'd be be lucky to sniff the Top-50 right now.
  19. I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm thinking the Ducks might fall out of the Top-20.
  20. That's just stone-cold... and true.
  21. Is this Dawg 49-3 loss worse than that 70-21 Dawg loss a few years back?
  22. Unfortunately, the really scary thing for the PAC-12, is that he may right.
  23. History truly does repeat itself. That's the exact same stuff we were saying last year.
