They remind me a bit of the 39 year old Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley in regard to allowing themselves to, at times, make some bat-crap crazy decisions. All three of these coaches clearly have ridiculously high football IQs. Unfortunately, IQ has never-ever been a replacement for wisdom. And wisdom is gained by experience... which is always gained over time. The #1 thing I look for when hiring someone is: "Are they coachable?" I don't care what the position is or how old or how young the person is. I want to know if they are teachable and coachable. I think our coaches are coachable, want to be the best at their trade, and are willing to learn from those who know more than they do. I believe we have some very fine coaches who are in the process of becoming exceptional coaches. And hopefully, as they continue learning, their education does not come back to bite us in the backside. And holy crapoly... In their first year, we are 9-2!

I'm waiting for us to once again get one, and preferably two, safeties like Cliff Harris who just "Lock $%it down."

Frankly, I did not really want to see us play in the CFB. Although we've improved dramatically from week one, having seen what it looks like to play one of those top three teams, and based upon what we saw from our defense last night, I did not want to particularly see us play Georgia, Ohio State, or Michigan. The Rose Bowl would be amazing given this is Lanning's first year, etc. However, with that being said, obviously the Rose Bowl is far from a given. Arguably, we have our two toughest games of the season, next to Georgia, coming up over the next two weeks. We'll see how resilient our coaches and kids are.

I don't think it was until the 2019 Pac-12 Championship game against Utah that Mario finally let Justin do what Justin does. As I'm sure you recall, were big underdogs going into that game. Mario finally unleashed the reins on the kid who is currently one of the best QBs in the NFL. And all Justin then did against Utah was completely shred and pick them apart, both in the air and with his feet, for a thoroughly wonderful 37-15 thrashing of the Utes. And apparently, after 12 games into that season, Mario finally seemed to learn his lesson and allowed Justin to be Justin in the Rose Bowl as well --- whereby we went on to have a Rose Bowl win for the ages.

Absolutely not me. A few brave souls around here tried to compare that GA thrashing game to Chip Kelly's first game against Boise state. Frankly, I would hear none of it. But clearly, thankfully, they knew much better than I did.

#6 in the AP, and #6 Power Ranking. All they have to do now is beat 4 of the best teams in the Pac-12, over the next 4 weeks. All winnable games. If they can pull it off, they definitely deserve to be in the playoff.

Like I keep saying, Florida has been very good to the Ducks. They've bailed us out twice, while, as you've pointed out, have been kind enough to pay the salaries of the entire coaching staff this year. They have been so generous.
