One of the most glaring questions I have is: "Just how bad are our backup QBs?" To have left Nix in ALL GAME, for what was truly a terrible performance, AND a historically horrendous season opening game, I think begs this question.

LOL. Sadly though, it was 1974 @ Nebraska 61-7, followed by 1975 @ Oklahoma 62-7. I just checked back as far as I could find the scores, which was 1916.

Hey, at least we didn't make history today. Although, it was the third worst opening season loss we've ever had.

Along the lines of "I'm looking for some remotely positive Duck news after todays total annihilation" --- I'm not exactly sure I found it. After getting completely trashed and losing by 46 points, my fear was that this may be the worst opening loss our Ducks have ever had. However, I believe I have a little bit of good news, and that is going back 106 years to 1916, we have had 2 opening season beatdowns WORSE than today. I know... I'm such a glass-half-full kind of guy.

LOL... While I see very little wisdom remotely come from California these days, after this game, I'm thinking you might just be onto something 😉 Clearly, my gut bomb breakfast did nothing to help.

But I genuinely appreciate your attempt to find some hope by using this comparative. Boise State did go on to have a 14-0 season... so they were a good team. The thing is, I expect that Oregon will have a rather respectful record at the end of the season against Pac-12 competition. The bummer there is that this may show how truly poor the quality of football that the Pac-12 has become.

We lost by 11 to Boise State. We lost by 46 today. I can't even begin to remotely compare the two.
