  1. Thanks for the correction. My mistake just goes to prove the old adage of what happens when you ASSUME something ...
  2. I'd rather have Eugene Omoruyi's "little" brother, 6'11" Clifford. Would be a big help on defense and would, in my opinion, better complement Bittle.
  3. As I surmised, Oquendo is transferring. He could attack the basket, but he could not be relied upon to hit the 3 and his defense was less than stellar so Dana moved him down the rotation. It's too bad he was unable to better assimilate; I had higher hopes for him. Good luck to him wherever he lands. Oregon men’s basketball guard Kario Oquendo enters transfer portal WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Oquendo averaged 7.2 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.0 assist for the Ducks
  4. Tony Stubblefield is returning to help coach and recruit for the men's program. I believe this is big news. The Ducks were playing last season without its' full allotment of coaches and it is clear that Dana really wanted Stubblefield back. Assuming the Ducks can add a couple of quality transfers (another big and a good shooting wing that can play D) to a core returning linuep of Bittle, Shelstad, Tracey, Barthlemy, Cook and probably Evans (I'd be surprised if Oquendo returns), I believe that the Ducks will again be dancing in 2025. Tony Stubblefield returns to Oregon men’s basketball coaching staff WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Stubblefield, who spent 11 seasons working as an assistant at UO, is returning to Dana Altman’s staff.
  5. Altman said he watched every Creighton game. I doubt that Creighton's coach has watched every Oregon game. Advantage Ducks!!!
  6. 3:56 left KJ hit these two free throws, make S. Carolina take some time on offense (no quick easy drives to the hoop) and don't turn the ball over and start preparing for the Bluejays. Make sure Couisnard and Dante get a post-game ice bath and a massage.
  7. Couisnard taking his former team to the woodshed. 6:57 left -- too early to play not to lose (keep attacking) but take care of business the next 3-4 minutes and then we can take the air out of the ball. Go Ducks!!!
  8. Well .... Too many turnovers (9), but much better the last 10 minutes. Even on the boards, but the Gamecocks got too many offensive boards early (the other) USC has four 3 pointers, not bad, but that foul on a 3 point shot (which allowed 2 made free throws) hurt. Even with all of that, Ducks lead by 5 after desperate heave by S. Carolina. Take care of the basketball, attack the basket, get the ball down low to Dante and make free throws and the Ducks advance. Go Ducks!!!
  9. Agreed. Way too many turnovers. Ducks need to value each possession.
  10. No one asked, but here is my prediction: The Ducks will control the boards, limit their turnovers and defend the 3 point line to advance to the Round of 32. Ducks 67 - (the other) USC 60 Go Ducks!!!
  11. I had season tickets for 20 years. Now I go to a couple of games a year. I like to stand. It's really hard on my back and hips to sit on the bench seating for 3+ hours. And as a larger person (6'4"), there is often not enough leg room to sit comfortably and I have to fight for hip space when I am sitting. If there is a stadium seat in front of me, forget about it. Sitting is no longer a reasonable option. And I can no doubt see better. That being said, I am conscious of those around me and try and make friends and ask where I can stand to hopefully not obstruct their view too much. That's my experience, anyway.
  12. Former Duke nickel back Brandon Johnson commits to Oregon WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Oregon continues to fortify its secondary, adding a third defensive back via the transfer portal.
  13. Thank you, Charles, for some Husky humor as I am buckled in waiting out Portland’ s winter storm.
  14. I believe the Ducks D regularly put Penix in peril during the first game. The second game I was yelling at my TV “If you’re going to blitz, you’ve got to get there!” I have not studied the reason for the different results, but I assume UW adjusted their protection. Like others, I also believe that the Ducks D injured Penix’s midsection (Ribs?) and he never fully recovered and he aggravated the injury during the championship game. He couldn’t afford to stand in the pocket and take a hit. All of that aside, Penix and Andrew Luck were the 2 best quarterbacks I have seen throw the deep ball in tight windows. My $.02.
  15. I have absolutely no inside knowledge, but I believe that the Ducks made a deal with Bo that if he came back one more season they would limit his runs and protect his NFL draft status. With Gabriel, I don't believe there is the same concern and I bet he's getting NIL $ with an agreement he will run the ball when necessary. But what do I know? Just my $0.02.
  16. My original comment was meant for Gabriel article. Sorry about that.
  17. —Winner -- Ducks! —Score -- 35- 3 —Turnovers Oregon creates -- 1 —No. of sacks for Ducks -- 2 —Oregon’s passing yardage -- 373
  18. Thank you, Charles. I look forward to trying my luck again next week. GomDucks!
  19. --the winner -- Ducks! --the score -- 43-31 --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates -- 2 --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team -- 4 --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. -- 311
  20. Sounds like a great event, but I won't be able to attend from Portland. I hope it is a big success and that it leads to a future event that I can attend. Go Ducks!
