  1. I have no complaints. The team played their hearts out. The coach was aggressive and there is no looking back. This game showed me that the boys played with a lot of grit ... getting a couple of bad non-calls from the refs and down a couple of DBs. Great game. We just ended up on the short end to a very good team. NEXT UP! GO DUCKS!!

  3. AMC, where did you see this about Aydin? Just last week DawgsWire, On3, and 247 all had him projected to Georgia.
  4. Bo said last week that the first 6 plays were scripted. I speculate that was from the OC looking to see what the Stanford defense had planned for certain play types. I obviously don't know if that is true, but it's something that I would try. If that is the case (and planned) for the fuskie game, the coin flip won't matter. If that speculation is ignored, I'd always choose to defend the opening kick.
  5. Let's hope he can get into the 1st round NFL draft like Sauce did. He sure has great measurables.
  6. Thanks for the fine article, Ryan. I enjoy your writing. I'd just make one comment about the last word in it ... "respectable". The phrase was "... it is comforting to think that in only three short decades they have become, at the very worst, respectable." As it was italicized, I realize the word was intended to carry more meaning. But I'd like to add a modern era addendum and elucidate the phrase with "Since 2000, the Ducks have amassed a whopping 73%-win percentage." Further, these are the teams that were playing during the most important time when almost every Duck player/recruit has been alive. Yes, the Ducks have improved over time. But WOW have they ever. I don't know where that percentage lies with regards to teams such as Alabama (and their annual games against The Sisters of the Poor Univ. teams), but it's not far behind. By the way, Alabama also had a reasonably poor historical record prior to 2006.
  7. This string of games ... this season ... this conference ... what a wonderful time to be a Duck fan!
  8. Doubt has killed more dreams than failure. Ducks by 14!
  9. "They're all about clicks. And we're about wins!"
  10. I thought Reed subbed in admirably when Khyree went down.
  11. Home field to Mutts. Equal passing. Edge to Ducks on running. Larger edge to Ducks on defense. No sweat. Ducks by 14! If it rains a lot, Ducks splash by Mutts by 21. Have faith, mates.
  12. 'Tis great to have you back educating and entertaining us, Ryan. Great article. Keep them coming, please.

  14. And now this. Sad state of fandom. Colorado State player, family receive death threats after hit - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Colorado State's Henry Blackburn and his family have received death threats after his late hit to Colorado star Travis Hunter, AD Joe Parker said.
  15. My two broken ribs and the sequelae liver damage took 6 weeks before I was able to carry out normal tasks. (Included were 4 weeks of sleeping in a recliner chair.) Ouch. I, too, feel for the young man. I hope he has a brilliant football career.
  16. It was certainly an unnecessary hit. The YouTube doc didn't notice the awkward landing of the knee. There looks to be possible tendon damage. Also, having suffered broken ribs and organ damage in a similar fashion, that hit under the pads on the right side appear to be a possible problem for Hunter.
  17. Spectrum has the same issue ... OSU v. Wa.St. at 12.30 on ABC.

  19. I just re-watched the game. David is completely correct. The TT o-line was holding like crazy. (Great article, David.) There were a number of other instances where officiating was .... Oh wait, Charles would boot me if I say what I think about that. So, I'll leave it at ... "It's early in the season. They'll get better." I hope. I too was encouraged by the d-line performance. They could be among the best we've seen since the Nick Reed days. (Of course, Nick and d-line friends were aided on the back side by the likes of Chung, Ward, Byrd, Thurmond, Matthews, and Paysinger.
  20. Yeah, just as soon as they pay off the coming lawsuits involving their fb coach.
  21. So ... besides inventing the steam engine, what does this James Watt(s) do? Oh wait. I see he keeps stats. Goodie for him.
  22. I checked back to 2000 (and had a cursory glance back to 1993). The following information came from Sports-Reference.com. TT beat no "prime" teams in that period. They won two OOC games of any consequence. One was AZ St (big deal, eh?) and SMU when the Ponies were ranked #24. That's it. The rest of the wins came from the SWC type conferences. They did appear in a gaggle of bowl games where they beat Miss. St. a couple of times. Assuming I missed nothing, I was NOT impressed by their OOC scheduling or winnings. I didn't read Crepea or Oram, but they didn't look all that closely if they were impressed.
  23. I'd like to chime in with something else here. It just grates on my nerves to hear the ubiquitous use of incorrect pronouns. Are they not teaching English any longer in American schools? Here is the worst type of offender ... "Me and Johnny are going to the game." Taking an icepick to my ears would be more pleasant.
