  1. #1"I don't want to see Turnover-Thompson playing anymore." (I did not like having a label like that pinned on a player...but is it that bad?) #2"Please, please, please...Never play Ty Thompson again...Horrible." (This one is referring to player performance, but still makes me uncomfortable) #3"TT is like someone who has an UZI but doesn’t know when to pull the trigger and where to put the bullets." (This one is also referring to player performance, but doesn't it imply intelligence?) I am uncomfortable with all 3 benign examples. #1 is name calling-a derogatory put down of a current Oregon player. #2 is a put down that doesn't talk about a specific football skill in his performance. Such as he threw that pass when the receiver was covered by multiple defenders. His vision of the field needs to improve. #3 uses an analogy without talking about the performance of football in the game. Sole purpose of the analogy is to put down the Oregon player. I would hide all 3 and send an email.
  2. Go shop on Amazon right now. You'll be offered Thursday night football gear for sale. Current gear available for the next game between the Washington Commanders and the Chicago Bears. Just imagine the extra money coming to Pac-12 teams.
  3. Yes! No more late night games ending around midnight. Alexa, should the Pac-12 stream? Yes! WWW.REGISTERGUARD.COM Broadcast outlets deliver more households right now, but for how much longer? What can streaming services do better than any...
  4. Fun, fun, fun! Entertainment for long starved Oregon fans. Surgical and unpleasant for Defensive Coordinators. Kenny Dillingham is a gunslinger. Deadly! The talent Oregon has recruited now has a gifted Coach with a green light to carve up a defense. Kudos to Coach Lanning and his entire staff! In his after game comments he said, "And if we see a wart, we want to go fix it.". No more post game "coach speak" we used to get. Actions speak louder than words! DazeNConfused, your articles never disappoint. Well done sir!
  5. A week after committing 14 penalties in the win over Stanford, many on the UO offensive line, the Ducks committed just six Saturday — none on the offensive line. "You get what you emphasize, right?" Lanning said. "And if we see a wart, we want to go fix it. That being said, there's a lot of things that we can continue to fix." Proud of the Coaches and Team we have!

  6. Great to see a QB under center in short yardage situations! Thank God no more pistol plunges from the shotgun. Yay Coach Dillingham and Coach Lanning!
  7. That hit by Manning was what real "physicality' is!
  8. The winner, Oregon. Score 38-24. Turnovers Oregon creates 2. Sacks recorded 2. Duck passing yards 180. (Bonus: Oregon runs for 380 yards.)
  9. Alan, another funny spoof! I've trained myself not to sip coffee while reading. Thanks for all the good humor! Your reference to "bear down" gives new meaning: "But here’s the worst part: while the medics are wheeling the nearly decapitated Golden Bears player off the field, two hoodlums rush out of the stands, and with paint and brush, they scribble onto the turf those two unforgivably offensive words: “BEAR DOWN.”
  10. Friday night lights on a shirt sleeve night with a harvest moon rising. Go football! Pink numbers and pink socks honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month.
  11. Try it again. It was just fixed with the correct video.
  12. Thanks Eric for explaining how this play works. Good job with the details! A good offensive coordinator uses a counter to take advantage of aggressive defensive defenders - especially ones he notices lacking discipline. Coach Dillingham is blowing my mind with a passing constraint play to his running counter! Wow, The Counter Tunnel Screen to the Center Tackle Counter!!! Counters are not used over and over as a base play. However, they are sprung when the defense is set up. The surprise usually results in long plays or touchdowns. Buckle up. I think we're going to see Oregon become an innovative offensive team again! Hip hip hooray!
  13. + Along with Brandon Baker! It will be great to get both of these big O linemen.
  14. Thanks for the warning, Darren! Here's hoping the coaching staff prepares the team for a successful "desert war". The continued process of improvement that Coach Lanning emphasizes is important - especially this week.
  15. Thank you Drex! Excellent points of observation. Oregon is the best job any coach could have! Bob Rodes hit it out of the park with Hotel California!
  16. I loved Alan Lohner's article when he said, deaf, dumb, and blind Pac-12 referred..." Did the refs read the article, get mad and want the game to be about them?
  17. Thank you Alan, the "Stanford Duck Syndrome" is a classic! I'm glad I wasn't drinking my coffee when I started reading.
  18. I love it! The Aliotti version of the Bend-But-Don’t-Break defense was a proven strategy. I wish that Coach Nick had been the head coach instead of Helfrich. We could've kept the explosive offense and never experienced the defensive disasters when he left. Give Coach Lanning time to recruit his type of D line players, and we will see more of what he did last year at Georgia. Thank you DazeNConfused for sharing your football expertise and skill of writing!
  19. Wonderful analysis Charles! Thanks for investing the time to teach us DL's concepts of creative pressure with 4.
  20. Great analysis DnC! Excellent job of teaching Cover 1, 2, & 0. I can't wait until the coaches get the whole package of defense installed and perfected.
  21. Thanks Joshua, you make an excellent argument for Bo Nix! Your article was a fun read!
  22. Thanks for writing this confession! I think a lot of us have been guilty of similar behavior. I think the previous coach conditioned us to give up when things started going bad. We would never be able to catch up. Thank our lucky stars we have a new coach, and the team is buying into his determination. This is a different coaching staff, and we're seeing a new team! Go Ducks!
  23. I tried using my android phone and link works. I should have done that before. My Kindle fire tablet doesn't like those links sometimes. Good article. Thanks Desert Duck.
  24. The reason I retired from coaching (besides being old), was the last head coach I worked under did the same thing. He stole the fun from football! Underutilized and unappreciated as an assistant was not worth the long hours. Time to retire. IMHO Mari no O is the same type.
