More changes may come on schedules. Ducks AD Rob Mullens ‘super supportive’ of Pac-12′s change to football championship game selection WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Oregon would have benefited more than any other Pac-12 team from the conference’s recent change to its football championship game...

Good question Haywarduck concerning the O-line. The previous coaching staff's emphasis on bulldozer run blocking never was capable of developing good pass protection. I have faith (and lots of hope) that Line Coach Klemm will improve the pass protection! I saw too many "Matador" blocks by our line unable to quickly move their feet to give the QB time to throw! I'm thankful Oregon has upgraded our offensive staff with Dillingham and Klemm!

It's great to have so many good receivers! Go Ducks! Dont’e Thornton, Chase Cota give Oregon Ducks options at Z receiver WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Dont’e Thornton is clearly in position to be a major contributor this fall and the addition of Chase Cota gives the Ducks a proven weapon... Troy Franklin in line to be Oregon Ducks’ next vertical threat at X receiver WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM If the Ducks are going to become a more prolific passing team, Franklin will have to shoulder the load of far more deep routes.

Looks like the RB's are meshing well with Coach Locklyn. Doing the right things! Oregon Ducks’ overhauled running back room beginning to take shape WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM A new leader in yards will emerge, along with a vocal presence and there will be a different dynamic to the room in 2022.

Rob Moseley@DuckFootball Oregon was one of four Power 5 athletic departments to celebrate 10 football wins and 20 by both hoops teams this year. With two wins by @OregonBaseball this week, Oregon is the only one of the four to make it a 10-20-30 year with 30 wins in both diamond sports as well. #GoDucks

ASU DL Transfer has Oregon Scheduled for Final Visit
Smith72 replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thank you for the humor! I gotta admit I'm a "user". -
A treasure trove of film study! So far I've only looked at tape of Coach Locklyn. I see backs with vision, patience to allow holes to open and then explosion to maximize yardage. I also see backs with good ball security. I found this description interesting: "The most striking thing about all of Locklyn’s backs in 2021 was how patiently they ran, waiting for blocks get in place and then exploding through the hole. That’s something that often takes years for backs to develop (I recently spent about three seasons at Oregon waiting to see it consistently) so it was remarkable to see at WKU across the board with a new staff and basically a new set of players." Sounds to me we have a good teacher in Coach Locklyn!

Coach Kenny Dillingham’s New GTE Sweep Read
Smith72 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great job of breaking down, teaching, and illustrating this new GTE Sweep Read! What a fantastic play! Angles, quick movement, and attacking the defense in many different areas. All designed to stress the defense and not let them know where you're going! Amazing design of just one play. I can't wait to see other plays Coach Dillingham has brought to Our Beloved Duck Football team! Thanks for all the hard work Charles it takes to create this article! -
Critical Analysis: Oregon Spring Game Hits and Misses
Smith72 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Excellent observations Charles! And thanks for writing it so quickly. I had much criticism last year watching Mari (no O) and his plodding pistol offense. My main concern was the lack of pass protection by HIS linemen! They are built for bulldozer type work - straight ahead and double teaming and sliding off to pick up a linebacker. Too many times their attempts to block quick pass rushers looked like matadors at a bull fight last season! Coach Klemm has made some improvements this spring. I saw some good pockets early. But as the game progressed with more pressure we all saw the potential for too many QB sacks. I trust Coach to make improvements by September. We may see some new personnel in the fall. -
11 Minutes with Coach Joe Lorig--Special Teams Special Again
Smith72 replied to Smith72's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Don't miss the moment when players are passing the interview and yell out "CTG". That is Coach Lorig's mantra for Special Teams to " Change the Game"! The guys were having fun with the coach letting him know they're buying into his system! Sounds like football is fun again! -

Love the video, thanks! Nix is athletic, good vision looking downfield, and quick decision making. But the one thing he has which I love is a lightning quick release. From the time he sees his receiver until the ball leaves his hand is quick! Justin Herbert is also quick in his throwing motion.

In answer to amcdawg, yes, Oregon has done clinics before. When I was coaching HS I attended clinics every year. Many different clinics put on by colleges and Nike for HS coaches in the northwest. My favorite were at the UO (Our Beloved Ducks). I remember Rich Brooks doing a good job. Bellotti was good also! Please don't attack me, but I did pick up some nuggets of football wisdom from UW. Knowledge is power! Ha!
