  1. Ducks are going against a qb that can extend plays and find open receivers. If we allow him to get rolling early, it will be a shoot out. No worried about our offense but we need to keep SS in the pocket with relentless pressure.
  2. Thats how Buffs play, they open up their running game after passing. SS's roles out a lot and tries to extend plays to get receivers open.
  3. If Deons son continues to shine throughout the year, I think he will turn pro next year as he cannot pass on the money that would be available to him. When you consider injuries and other potentials I don't blame youngsters for taking the money if offered.
  4. Use our WR's's as decoy for hitting TE's all alone between backers and secondary. That will give our WR's more advantage going deep.
  5. Maybe it's just me but I thought our D line looked slow most of the night. I know we are bigger and more talented but they seem slower. Like the outcome of the game and hope for a solid year!
  6. Going to be a shoot out imo, and the team with the ability to pressure on the qb wins.
  7. Team that plays the best D should win. TT at home will be a different team. Oregon 44 TT 38
  8. Primes QB son looked impressive. Seems to have a good feel for the game.
  9. I thought they did well in every aspect but get to the qb. Zero sacks against Portland State?
  10. The USC game is huge for the Ducks. We owe Willams one as he picked us apart in 21. Im predicting we lose 1 of USC,Utah,OSU & WA with just one loss for the season. Dont want the 1 loss to be against Riley and Williams.
  11. SC defense is similar to last years Ducks. They just seem a bit slow on the line and backers. We will find out against TT how much our d has improved and what speed we have on the D side of the ball. TT will be very quick on both sides. Should be a fun game, if we win....but what if we lose?
  12. Last years D wasn't good at all. I did expect more as thats Lanning's wheel house. The D line and backers were slow and we must have been the easiest team in the nation to convert 3rd downs on us. I would hope we see a huge improvement this year and are in the top 30 or so D in the nation. Anything like last year is not a good sign.
  13. Yep, very old school. Kids now days could use some it too, imo. Not overboard, but enough to get attention and message across about being focused enough and durable enough to play a violent game. As one who once played the game I loved a coach that got on us and pushed for excellence. And when the coach offered praise and recognition it meant more.
  14. Played Pop Warner & HS football in 60"s. What's Sanders said was all Neon motivational hype. The coaches I had back then at both levels used crude cussing and tough brash talk to get their point across. Get your lazy ... going. wth are you guys doing...knock his fricken.....head off. You AH's want to rum more..Diont play like a bunch of p......just examples ob how this game has evolved. So when I hear ND say when one fights we all fight, I see right through it and the motivation he wants.
  15. I think his message was one for all, all for one. Just didn't want half the team waking away when one of the team members was in a scuff. I dont think he was actually advocating for everyone to rumble, but rather so support for your team member. Im sure Lanning feels the same way.
  16. Traditionally the Pac has had maybe 1-3 teams every year that can win the conference championship and are ranked. Oregon has done very well for sometime and fans have been riding that wave of success and anticipation form year to year. It's going to be imperative that we do well in the Big from the start, so that fandom and interest doesn't dampen bit by bit.
  17. I think there University Presidents and AD's should all take a big pay cut for not getting the biggest job of all (with regards to athletics) done. Monumental failure that has historical implications. These guys sit back and get their annual pay raises and pensions bumps on a regular basis, time to take reduction and zero bonus.
  18. Yeah, Oregon Indiana will sell at least 70K seats. JK
  19. Meanwhile, Pac-12 leaders have held “positive” meetings the last two days to examine details of the Apple deal, sources tell @YahooSports . Presidents of schools whose membership is in question participated. A GoR was expected to be presented to presidents at a meeting Friday. 7:11 PM · Aug 3, 2023 · 29.3K Views
  20. Maybe Apple will purchase part of ESPN and the Pac teams may have a tv pkg?
