  1. Great coverage on this! It would be special to have another 5☆ JStew in the program. Am I the only one that looks at that young man next to DL and thinks "wow, that could be Arik Armstead 2.0"? It has to be a big plus that so many of DL and staff's recruits got significant high quality snaps on Saturday. Several frosh stood out and the improvement in the 2nd year players, particularly on defense, was dramatic. "If you're good enough, you're old enough"
  2. As much as I love the local kid/dual sport storyline for BB, if he is now starting for Waz and is a major contributor, why risk a blown out ACL or separated shoulder as a 2-3rd team LB? While he may never get to the Show, he'll get at least a long cup of coffee in the Minors if he continues to improve. I'd rather see him going yard in Omaha than playing mop up snaps at Autzen. No one can take away what he has done already and he'll be remembered by Duck fans for quite awhile. And I do believe that MBB offers full scholarships.
  3. Though not the only reason, look at how much the Lions have improved with Penei at OT. That extra 500 milliseconds of protection means a yard per play in the ground game, more completions and fewer INTs. That's why tackles go in the first round. Alt and Slater will make great bookends for the LAC O-Line and finally get JH some meaningful protection.
  4. Several good points and observations made here. There seemed to be some consternation about Gabriel and Moore expressed in the comments section of a couple of other sites. What I saw at the game was that the Dline played well and beat the fragmented Oline enough so that all QBs had to hurry throws a bit. The DBs and LBs had good coverage and there weren't that many open looks. One 'badly overthrown' DG pass early I believe was intentional, as the primary coverage was good and the safety was converging fast. A tighter throw may have been picked. Novosad made the biggest mistake by throwing at Dickey right into similar coverage, resulting in the Flowers pick. Moore had some nice throws, one uncharacteristically dropped by TFerg that killed a drive. It made Moore look a bit pedestrian even though he had made the right read. I don't think there are any bad takeaways on the QB play. The difference lies on defense, primarily with the two deep in the first half, where they came to play hard and fast. Interior Dline and Edge did their jobs and put pressure on the offense. That said, some real nice offensive WR play by Stewart, Tez and Lowe. The RBs were running hard, perhaps a bit too much so with Savage escorted to the locker room after a brutal pop by James. Harris is going to be a part of this offense one way or another. He is a bulldozer once he gets a step. Not going to make a LeGarrette Blount comparison just yet but the combination of size, speed and brute force is something Oregon hasn't had since Royce and JStew. Add to that a 49yd down the middle FG with plenty to spare. All in all the day didn't have some of the flash of previous spring games, but there sure was a lot to like in all facets of the game from veterans and newcomers alike.
  5. And.. Bucky to the Bucs at #25 pick of the 4th round. There may be more to come, but that's all seven of the main Duck targets off the board. A new high mark of draftees. Job well done, Oregon!
  6. My bad, it's not really printable. One could cut and paste it together as a Word file, but that's a crap ton of extra work for old guys like us. Hopefully the Go Ducks site will come up with something before the game starts.
  7. And Evan Williams just dropped two picks later to the Packers. Four Ducks drafted so far in the first eleven picks of the 4th round. Six and counting, matching the previous Duck high. Go Bucky!
  8. Oops, I missed that it was Khyree Jackson and not Tysheem (still with the Ducks, dumb me) in the draft. Double missed that he went one pick before Dorlus to the Vikings. I need a better editor.
  9. And seven picks later Dorlus goes to Altanta at 109. So that's four. Just Bucky, Tysheem and EvanW to go to get to seven. I'm anticipating this round will be pretty Duck heavy.
  10. Oregon announces green and white team rosters for Spring Game 247SPORTS.COM The Ducks have announced their spring game rosters with Team Green and Team White It might be behind a 24/7 firewall, but here is a somewhat disjointed roster that includes jersey numbers. Go Ducks!
  11. Denver traded several slots up to get him so I wonder if they knew someone else, like the Bolts, were ready to pull the trigger to give JH another legit target.
  12. Boneyard RPM IPA still very much alive and kicking and is my go to IPA, but I will try Charles's suggestion for sure. Maybe when watching the replay of the spring game tomorrow.
  13. Broncos just drafted Troy Franklin in the early 4th round. They got a steal and the chemistry with Bo is a big plus. Wonder how much input Bo had in this decision when Franklin didn't go in the 2nd or 3rd and was still available. Go Pro Ducks!
  14. That one made me raise both eyebrows. A Dukie better than Rimington winner JPJ? The competition level was certainly tougher in the Pac-12 (RIP). The only thing that I can see is that maybe Barton is a bit bigger and more versatile having played LT for two years and that the Bucs wanted to be able to move him around. Still, hard to argue that JPJ isn't the best center in the draft. My bet is he goes early in the 2nd round later today. He also can play at the guard spot but not really suited to be an OT. He has that edge of pure nasty that will make some team very happy, wherever he plays between the tackles. I would love to see JPJ, TFrank and Dorlus all come off today with Bucky and Tysheem as potential move ups. Still very possible that EvanW goes late rounds and that Oregon will have it's first seven man draft class. Oh yeah, and to hades with those 'experts' like BoogerMac who call Bo a dink and dunk QB. Like Sean Payton can't recognize the smarts and talent to fit his scheme. Same bozos that thought JH would get some coach fired (well yep, Lynn got fired, but because LAC needed an upgrade to develop Justin) or that Harbaugh would trade him to move up and take JJMcC in the draft. All graduates of the Bayless-Acho school of clickbait lame sports journalism.
  15. 1. No injuries 2. Someone emerge at nose tackle 3. What Stewart can do at WR 4. " Dickey. " " " " 5. Muhammad against Stewart 5. Edge development against OTs
  16. It is the work of dedicated OBD members like Pennsylvania Duck/Kim Yee that make this the best Oregon fan forum, hands down. She is and will be missed by all. May her family be blessed by her life and memory.
  17. Whispers in the Woods: Oregon hosted secret visitor this past weekend 247SPORTS.COM An update on all things Oregon basketball recruiting. The second big time 'Furd player, Andrej Stojakovic is still in the portal and may want to reunite with Angel. That would be two good wing additions if DA could pull it off. The really interesting tidbit from the above article is that N'faly may be petitioning for a final year of eligibility based on the Covid year and his injuries the following year. He is already NBA ready, but another year at Oregon to develop a mid range shot would make him a first rounder. We can all hope. A line up of Shelstad, Evans, Angel, Bittle and Dante, with Cook, Tracey, Barthelemy and maybe Stojakovic in the rotation (and no injuries) is the stuff of Sweet Sixteen dreams.
  18. Oregon pitching still an issue with 5 run innings all too common. Plenty of bats for the Ducks but the starters get into trouble and are blowing significant leads. Clean that up and they will win most of the league series.
  19. It doesn't matter one way or the other. No Returns! All Sales Are Final!
  20. Watched the 10 min YouTube synopsis of the highlights. What is so remarkable is how PP is able to get free on offense, distribute for the open man and lobs for dunks, drive to the hoop, and take the three when it is there. His crossover or behind the back dribble stepback shot is now elite. Defensively, for a small guard he manages to get rebounds by being in the right place at the right time. Granted these last few games have been against somewhat lesser competition as the Celts have their playoff spot sealed up, but PP has been fantastic regardless. He would be the starting PG on a lot of NBA teams and he would be doing this nearly every night. As it is he will be valuable as the 6th man for the Celts in the playoffs.
  21. Bottom of 8, 3-1 Ducks and Boetcher on 2nd with Walsh (walk, they didn't want to pitch to him) on 1st. One out. Just need to hold on, which they should do with the solid pitching. Now double steal. Nice!
  22. One would think given the name and Rutgers parallel that Eugene and Clifford would be related. Turns out not though, as Omoruyi is a fairly common Nigerian name and there is not a family connection. Regardless, Clifford is a talented big that would help ease the loss of Dante on the inside and it would be great if Oregon could land him. And Stub coming back to Eugene is a huge get for DA and the Ducks. Great assistant coach and recruiter that former players rave about.
  23. Three Oregon women's basketball starters announce they'll enter the transfer portal 247SPORTS.COM Oregon sophomore center Kennedy Basham announced on Wednesday morning that she... The starting lineup is heading for the exits. Something is really wrong with the program and I don't see any acknowledgement from Graves. Really sad that what Oregon had with Sabrina, Ruthy and Satou is only a fading memory. Maybe Mullens gives the current staff a year to right the ship, but I am no longer on the believer boat.
  24. Thanks for all the great Duck baseball info Sir FishDuck. The bats are starting to light up and the battalion of arms starting and in the pen are putting Oregon in every game.
  25. Hopefully you are not 18 years old, 6'10'' with a 86" wingspan, 45" vertical leap and are 40+% from beyond the arc.
