  1. Although it is a bit bittersweet to watch high level players with remaining eligibility leave, you can only wish the best for what might be the biggest OBD draft class in history: QB Gabriel RB James WR Tz Johnson OT. Cornelius OT. Conerly TE. Ferguson DT. Caldwell DT. Harmon DE. Burch LB. Bassa CB Muhammad Possible/probable or UDFAs WR. Holden OG Strother LB. Jacobs S. Ty Johnson CB. Manning CB Reed
  2. As the old saying goes "Quiet as the tomb" Maybe now that the students are back MKA will get lit up when OBD plays. Turn that sarcophagus into a boom box. Note to UO athletic department: Continue to expand the $5 and $10 discount seat offerings for home games. Fill that 200 section. Note to Duck fan: Buy those cheap tickets, come to MKA in droves and make some friggin' noise!
  3. Under the wire Bucknut 38-14 2 TOs 3 Sacks 325 yds passing
  4. By this point in the B1G CG Oregon had 21 points on Penn St. Notre Dame wouldn't have done any better against the OBD offense, imo. No doubt about it, Ducks got royally screwed by the CFP.
  5. Yup. Ore-A-Gone. Isn't that somewhere between California and Canada?
  6. Agreed, it is old hat and maybe is too obvious a play. Just an observation based on what Oregon did last time they faced tOSU and that since Steins offense hasn't emphasized it, it could catch them unaware. A TE on a drag route or Tez behund the short zone would give an RPO option if the LB doesn't crash.
  7. Oregon 38-33 1 TO 2 Sacks 295 passing yards. DG breaks one zone read or rub fake for a TD and gets 50 yds on the ground to offset a slightly lower tally thru the air. Burch gets one sack but is instrumental in both as well as the TO.
  8. There are so many candidates for the top secret weapon, but one may be hiding in plain sight. Yes, getting Burch back is huge for the D-line against a less than 100% tOSU front five. We can't underestimate the potential of a spittle-less Holden to add a third WR weapon or a Swiss army knife Sadiq in the TE game. Today's excellent updated tOSU film review by Hythloday1 at ATQ points out how Bucknut has changed some of their defensive scheme with varied success. It specifically focuses on a weakness of all B1G defenses: susceptibility to the outside zone read with a good fake on the crashing edge, the QB keep and no one in sight for 15 yards. " The most effective category of running play, as it is against almost all Big Ten defenses, is a designed QB keep on misdirection, either QB draw, power sucker, or zone read (excluding sneaks as a special category, those are even higher). I don’t know why this conference can’t master the scrape exchange but here it is for about the thousandth time I watched this year, the end and the backer fire right at the RB, the QB pulls it out of the mesh and runs around them for 15 yards." Duck Tape: Film Analysis Update of Ohio State 2024 WWW.ADDICTEDTOQUACK.COM A preview of Oregon’s Rose Bowl opponent in Pasadena So my vote is for the judgment and legs of DG. A similar play early in the 4th against them at Autzen gave him a wide open path to the end zone and tipped the game in OBD's favor. I wouldn't be at all surprised if WS calls up this wrinkle right when it is needed and Dillon romps for a critical first down, or more. Go Ducks!
  9. Compared to OBD v Tosu part one, the Ducks have two big pluses: Jordan Burch and (hopefully) a full game of Traeshon Holden. Bucknut is missing an All-American center and the tackle injured against Oregon, so at least one important minus. I don't think they got anyone critical back since Oct 12. If both teams are at the same strength otherwise, there appears to be slight personnel advantage for the Ducks. I would expect much the same outcome.
  10. All of the yapping and posturing is coming from the Tosu side. Pretty much crickets from OBD. Reminds me of a cornered animal arching its back and puffing up it's fur to look bigger. But emotion can carry you only so far. Bucknut seems to have a mixed record with the high emotion approach. The pressure on them and Day to break the Michigan curse resulted in an epic fail. No doubt they wanted to win badly. Pride and a rematch with OBD in the B1G CG was on the line but smart coaching and great defense by Michigan pulled an upset that threatened Day's job. Good for them that they rebounded at home, in an ice box, with a convincing win over an outgunned and vulnerable Tennessee. They had to, since a loss would have resulted in pitchforks and torches in the streets of Columbus, with the heads of Day and the Chipster decorating pikes in front of the 'Shoe' The formula for beating Bucknut is there for the study with two different examples: Outscore them and grind them to a halt. The film on how to beat the Ducks doesn't exist. Throw in the emotional component as a factor, arched back with puffed out fur, and that undeniable sense of Tosu entitlement for good measure. Yes, the teams are evenly matched. It will be a helluva game that will likely come down to a single score. And they do indeed want it soooo bad, to show Oregon who is really the best team in the nation. May they do just that. Go Ducks
  11. I might argue that WRs are a push, or slight edge OSU because of Smith. I would add: LBs slight OSU TEs Oregon And maybe as important: Special Teams. Oregon
  12. Particularly in their double wides..
  13. Clemson pulling an SMU. ACC having a very bad day. Maybe Miami will save a little face in the Pop Tart Bowl.
  14. My first impression of this game: Texas looks like a bunch of orange vanilla creamsicles and Clemson upside down ones
  15. Putting up the Christmas tree while watching SMU v PSU, so I'm not really being distracted much. PSU and Abdul Carter have done to SMU what they could only dream about doing to Oregon in the B1G CG. The Mustang qb has made more bad decisions than Custer at Little Bighorn, the O-line has more holes than a Swiss cheese sandwich and I've yet to see anything resembling presnap motion or misdirection. This game almost, but not quite makes me think Bama and DeBoer should have been in the CFP. Almost.
  16. Tosu 24-13 Tennessee not used to that kind of cold. Iamaleava gets picked off at least once by Downs, et al and Bucknut O-line does just enough to keep the offense alive. Day lives to fight another day but Day will yield to Knight and DL on New Years Day in LA.
  17. And that's about all they are gonna win.
  18. We'll, there ya go. He's now a Duck.
  19. Indiana being outplayed on both sides. This could be an ugly blowout. Someone will expose ND but I'd be salivating over the remote chance that OBD would face these guys in the NC game
  20. Doesn't DL have one too? I think it's a life journey thing.
  21. ON3 now predicting Alexander to OBD. The optics of his departure from U$C looked bad at the time but the subsequent Trojenz fire sale to the portal perhaps puts it in perspective. If DL and Tosh feel that he can fit the culture, then that is the way it is.
  22. Wish this young man the best regardless of the circumstances. Tampa Bay to Eugene is a long haul for a 17-18 year old particularly if there are family issues. This may also be the harbinger of someone planning to stay an additional year (E Stewart) or a portal addition at the WR position such as U$C transfers Duce Robinson and Z. Branch. Remember too that 5☆ Gatlin Bair joins the team in 2026 once his LDS mission is complete. The 2025 recruiting rankings take a hit, but OBD would still be in the top 7 or 8 and should remain loaded at the WR position.
  23. There is a narrative that the broken promises involve unfulfilled NIL payments. It could explain the loss of high profile and productive players. If that is the case the details will ultimately leak out. Riley's willingness to throw his players under the T-Bird can't help. Regardless, Oregon will be in a great position to pick up a prized position or two.
  24. Oregon Ducks Transfer Portal: Emar’rion Winston announces transfer DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon Ducks EDGE Emar’rion Winston announced that he intends to enter the transfer... Sorry to see this as he had played well on the two deep. There is just so much talent at edge with more coming in that you can't blame the young man for wanting to go somewhere that he can be a starter. Best of luck to him
  25. Yep, time to swill back some SEC cougar juice
