I'm with 30Duck on this though Hayward has a legit argument that Oregon peaked too early and allowed the season to get away from them starting with the Stanford debacle. We don't want that repeated in the unlikely event of a win at Georgia, but if win Oregon does, this is a different team with different coaching and an upgrade at QB. And hopefully fewer critical injuries contributing to last season's wheezing to the finish line. That said, the previous regime pulled off a stunning upset at tOSU. I watched it again a few days ago and nearly every position group either played a great game or had just enough flashes of brilliance to secure the win. That includes AB and the D-Backs. In spite of how the season turned out, would anyone not take the beautiful smack down the Ducks put on the high and mighty Buckeyes in their own house? God, that felt good. What a great, and long overdue, consolation prize for a so-so year. The majority of the young players in that game are still in Eugene and I believe that win will continue to bear fruit on the recruiting trail for years to come.

Half way thru the 7th round and VMIII not yet drafted. WTH? Chargers still have 3 picks so maybe something good happens and they get a steal.

All due respect to MaiTai, I agree with Skopil on the postion groups at this stage after spring practices. And his take on KT was just reinforced by the NY Giants taking him at #5. 247 nationally may be SEC biased, but Eric Skopil is a local kid from a long time Eugene family, is pretty respected overall and I enjoy reading his stuff.

Looking at the Pac12 network game film and the edited clips, Rossi (RFr) got beat but so did Bass and Jones, established OL players. I think DJ blew up Ferguson once as well. Lanning noted that DJ could be one of the premier edge players in the country for a reason.

Sorry to see him go as, although he wasn't the most dependable shooter, I thought he would play a significant role this year. Altman has a another big rebuild ahead. Hopefully we get another PG/SG to step up or come in via the portal. Thompson certainly looks the part of the D1 P5 QB and has a cannon for an arm. As much as he has a ton of raw talent he seems to have a tough time reading coverages and then getting an accurate throw to the checkdown receivers. Butterfield is like the old Avis ads, he knows he's perceived as #2 so he tries harder. Both those guys are competitive and it seems they will stay till the fall to battle it out. If I had to predict: Nix is the clear #1 leaving the spring game. Butterfield will be the #2. Thompson will transfer at some point. Oregon will work to add a good 2023 QB like Jaden Rashada.

After being listed out of HS at 6'4" 240# to as big as 6'5" 273# last year, DJ looked stronger and leaner on Saturday, maybe 260# with a KT level first step and quickness we didn't see the last two seasons. Good reason why Lanning and Tupoi are so high on him, he was just flat out dominant.

I agree with just about everything noted here. Seven (DAT clone), DJ (KT2) and Chase (the second Mailman cometh) were my standout players short of Noah and Taki's expected dominant play. Hard to watch both Nix and Thompson commit the cardinal sin of throwing behind crossing route receivers with the grim and anticipated outcome of a pick. Much to like, though and I'm sure the coaching staff will have plenty to work on. I think it is a smart idea to not have the spring game be the last practice before the break as I bet there will he be a lot of breakdown of the game film and teaching this week.

Just for comparison, the Oregon @ Ohio State line was as high as -14.5 with an O/U of 64. Someone expected a score around 41-24. We know how that turned out. Without KT and Flowe. Could be a lot closer that the odds makers think.
