  1. We should all follow that sterling example Woody Hayes set for us in that OSU-Clemson game oh so many years ago. On this date: OSU coach Hayes throws infamous punch - ESPN Video WWW.ESPN.COM On Dec. 29, 1978, Ohio State coach Woody Hayes didn't take kindly to his team being taunted and lashed out by punching a Clemson player.
  2. At least as far as civil lawsuits go, and unless you are pretty damn positive you are in the right, a bad settlement is nearly always better than a bad jury award. To those of us not in the legal profession the finality of a settlement, even a painful one, is usually preferable to the uncertainty, expense and angst of a lost jury trial and subsequent appeal and possible crapshoot retrial. I suspect that the UO will settle their part of it unless joint settlement of all defendents is required. Greatwood and the outgoing Helfrich staff was dissed by the incoming regime so no surprise there is no love lost. So far this is a bad look for all involved on the defense side and gives us yet another reason to say good riddance to Taggart and the malignant trail he left in his wake. The one ray of sunshine is the bad Karma that caught up to him at FSU.
  3. Axel, my man, you are just too much!
  4. Important to distinguish the types of pancreatic cancer. Most common by far is adenocarcinoma and that is a pretty dismal disease that tends to strike older people. Even caught early and aggressively treated with surgery, survival rates aren't very good. Redd had a neuroendocrine tumor that is less common and hits a younger age group. At 2.5cm and if the cancerous part was limited to the center of the mass, his odds of cure are very high in spite of the involved surgery he would have had to remove it. All the best for him as he was a huge fan favorite and a really gutsy kid for the Ducks.
  5. Los Angeles Rams Coach Sean McVay Closes on $14 Million ‘Contemporary Farmhouse’ API.CXENSE.COM The Hidden Hills mansion was designed by Jae Omar and first listed for $15.5 million So Riley gets a nicer $17.5M LA crib than the Super Bowl winning coach? Sets a pretty high bar for expectations from the USC fan base, I'll bet. Lot's of pressure to live up to them, and fast.
  6. Not a bad move considering how he lit Oregon up during that home loss to Colorado last season. He appears to be comfortable at MKA. Could fill some of the minutes Jacob Young had.
  7. With the ease of transferring now via the portal, I can't blame these kids for going that route when they find themselves low on the depth chart, playing a position of need instead of where they were recruited to play, or just plain ready for a change of scenery and atmosphere. Jackson Powers-Johnson and DJ Johnson have adapted well to the need to be versatile and it shows out in their play and how the coaches talk them up. It just may have not been the best fit for Jonah Miller. Best of luck to him going forward.
  8. Former top recruit Emoni Bates transferring from Memphis WWW.ON3.COM Former top recruit Emoni Bates will transfer out of Memphis after one season with the Tigers... Bates is transferring from Memphis after a disappointing, injury plagued freshman year. He committed to Michigan State originally but had Oregon in his final four before going to Memphis. He was the #1 recruit in 2022 before he reclassified to 2021 where he was still in the top 3. Still too young to enter the NBA draft though he could go to the D league. Would likely make more $$$ with NIL as a one and done. Not sure if Oregon has a remaining scholarship but could he be a target for Altman and the Ducks?
  9. Not to totally diss the previous O-line coach who helped put Sewell and a couple other guys in the NFL, but Klemm could bench press two Mirabals stacked together while eating a sandwich. He is guy that actually did it at the highest level and his players will listen and execute for him.
  10. Posted that awhile back, but it fits the current topic.
  11. And Duck Vision will chronicle your life from conception to commitment.
  12. Don Essig will introduce you. You'll ride out on the back of the Harley with Puddles. We'll pass the basket around Autzen like a giant "Sunday go to meeting" thing and you get the take. And half of all the proceeds from the sale of Bellotti Burgers to boot. Sweet!
  13. So Lanning knows these 5☆ transfers better than anyone given his D line faced them everyday in practice. If there is someone he would want to bring in, or keep away from USC, we'll know pretty soon if Oregon takes an interest in them. As an aside, I interpret Trojan "tears" as being synonymous with Universally Substandard Condoms.
  14. Weren't Ryan Walk and Nate Heaukulani PWOs? I know the best of these kids get offered a scholarship when available and they are always favorites with their teammates. It also strikes me that 3☆ kids that used to be primary recruiting targets in the Bellotti and early Kelly eras are now willing to be PWOs at Oregon. Quite a change.
  15. I've been a fan of ATQ's Hythloday1 game tape reviews for quite a while. Very insightful analysis of Oregon's upcoming opponents and Oregon's own game performances. He is now running that site. Most of ATQ is kind of a mishmash of links to other Duck sports news but the game tape posts are definitely worth a look if folks haven't already.
  16. JH got someone fired all right. The Chargers canned Anthony Lynn and brought in a head coach in Brandon Staley who could build an offense around Justin and give him a defense to protect the leads he would give them. Not quite what these talking head bozos had in mind, though.
  17. That said, I agree with David that I would like to see them win the case and get some financial accommodation as the injuries they sustained were significant and were preventable. Never would have happened had Coach Rad still been in charge.
  18. Brenner was a UO o-lineman. 3☆ in state kid from Jesuit. Was academic all Pac12 a couple of years. Mainly a backup and rotational player. Part of the second half breakdown of the infamous Alamo Bowl where he replaced the injured starting center and repeatedly snapped the ball at Jeff Lockie's (who had replaced the injured Vernon Adams) ankles.
  19. Also happy about Ashford getting a shot. And James will take someone's job as long as they keep air soft guns out of his hands.
  20. Auburn football fans’ reactions to Bo Nix Oregon ‘trade’ after A-Day spring game FLYWAREAGLE.COM We've now gotten to see the Auburn football side of the 'trade' with the Oregon Ducks--that... Interesting short read on the Auburn perspective of Nix to Oregon and James/Ashford/Jones to Auburn. Some sour grapes there as they are perpetuating the Nix as 2nd string myth.
  21. He's a natural tackle and likely wouldn't start this year given the experience Oregon has already. A year of crosstraining at G and C and 20-30# more muscle will have him starting next year. I think he rotates in this year, but hopefully not to fill in for an injured starter. Big upside is that Klemm gets to coach him up in his system.
  22. How the USC coaches room looked at the same time. Episode 1 Moe Upset GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY GIPHY.COM Discover & share this The Simpsons GIF with everyone you know. GIPHY is how you search...
  23. Friday news Coach Riley: Guys, I'm canceling practice today so I can watch the Master's at my $17M crib. Coach Lanning: Guys, circle up. Welcome Josh Conerly to Eugene. On three...1...2...3.. GO DUCKS!
  24. We all remember the painful smackdown of the 2016 game at Autzen where the fuskies laid 70 on Oregon. That and the following year in Seattle was the payback for them. Short lived it turned out.
