Another Oregon Kid as a Preferred Walk-On Joins the Ducks
Weren't Ryan Walk and Nate Heaukulani PWOs? I know the best of these kids get offered a scholarship when available and they are always favorites with their teammates. It also strikes me that 3☆ kids that used to be primary recruiting targets in the Bellotti and early Kelly eras are now willing to be PWOs at Oregon. Quite a change.

More Analysis of Kenny Dillingham Offense
I've been a fan of ATQ's Hythloday1 game tape reviews for quite a while. Very insightful analysis of Oregon's upcoming opponents and Oregon's own game performances. He is now running that site. Most of ATQ is kind of a mishmash of links to other Duck sports news but the game tape posts are definitely worth a look if folks haven't already.

Justin Herbert Pre-Draft Quote That Didn't Age Well
JH got someone fired all right. The Chargers canned Anthony Lynn and brought in a head coach in Brandon Staley who could build an offense around Justin and give him a defense to protect the leads he would give them. Not quite what these talking head bozos had in mind, though.

Former Oregon Ducks OL Doug Brenner Adds $100M Damages Claim to Lawsuit Against NCAA
That said, I agree with David that I would like to see them win the case and get some financial accommodation as the injuries they sustained were significant and were preventable. Never would have happened had Coach Rad still been in charge.

Former Oregon Ducks OL Doug Brenner Adds $100M Damages Claim to Lawsuit Against NCAA
Brenner was a UO o-lineman. 3☆ in state kid from Jesuit. Was academic all Pac12 a couple of years. Mainly a backup and rotational player. Part of the second half breakdown of the infamous Alamo Bowl where he replaced the injured starting center and repeatedly snapped the ball at Jeff Lockie's (who had replaced the injured Vernon Adams) ankles.

Also happy about Ashford getting a shot. And James will take someone's job as long as they keep air soft guns out of his hands.

War Eagle Nixes Nix
Auburn football fans’ reactions to Bo Nix Oregon ‘trade’ after A-Day spring game FLYWAREAGLE.COM We've now gotten to see the Auburn football side of the 'trade' with the Oregon Ducks--that... Interesting short read on the Auburn perspective of Nix to Oregon and James/Ashford/Jones to Auburn. Some sour grapes there as they are perpetuating the Nix as 2nd string myth.

Trojan Tantrums to Conerly Decision Announce Dan Lanning on the Recruiting Stage
Trojan tears seem to me as something to be avoided.

Does Conerly Start This Season?
He's a natural tackle and likely wouldn't start this year given the experience Oregon has already. A year of crosstraining at G and C and 20-30# more muscle will have him starting next year. I think he rotates in this year, but hopefully not to fill in for an injured starter. Big upside is that Klemm gets to coach him up in his system.

Sweet Sweet Husky Tears
We all remember the painful smackdown of the 2016 game at Autzen where the fuskies laid 70 on Oregon. That and the following year in Seattle was the payback for them. Short lived it turned out.

Holy CRAP! Bo Nix Has it ALL!
Charles, thanks for posting that video. I realize these were the best plays he had and I gather there were some bonehead miscues that he made as well, but there is a lot here to like. The positives I see are good mechanics and pocket presence. Patience to let his receivers get open without getting antsy or happy feet. He gets the ball out quickly. No jail alai windmill throwing motion like we saw all too often last year. Steps up in the pocket and anticipates pressure pretty well. Not elite accuracy and he doesn't have a JH cannon grafted to his right shoulder but has good zip and will thread the needle more often than not. He has the huevos to air it out for the home run, uses his TEs effectively and is a decent runner when it is time to hoof it as either a planned run or when the pocket breaks down. Some specifics that caught my eye: Some great scrambles and an ability to see down field even as he runs for his life, with a beautiful throw at the end. (See clips at 2:34, 2:58 and 4:45) Can hit the seam between defenders. (0:46) Can throw the out and put where only his guy can catch it (1:18) Makes a nice back shoulder throw to his WR in traffic (I'm guessing/hoping that was a planned throw). (1:50) There were more examples but enough here to feel good about the skill set. So maybe Nix is not a first round talent, but a he's a real improvement over last year. And If Thompson beats him out for the starting job, then the bar has been set to a high level and so much the better.

MBB: De'Vion Harmon Coming Back
Oregon still needs a true PG. When Richardson was the SG and PP ran the point he was a much better shooter. IMHO he isn't a true PG. Harmon could be a good off guard if the Ducks get a decent point. While a freshman point can't be expected to run the floor like a veteran, and the surrounding talent is not like the 2016-7 team that went to the final four, Pritchard did a great job his first year at point. Maybe Dion Johnson will be that player.

Maybe the Interference Call was WRIGHT?
The up field camera angle clearly shows #5 pushing off of Wright after a brief bit of hand fighting before the ball was in the air. Agree with several others that this never would be called in the SEC under the same circumstances. Wright didn't hold and he had his head turned back towards the football. One could have made an argument for an Offensive PI, but certainly a non call. That final Stanford drive was one of the worst officiated and frustrating sequences of Oregon football I've ever watched. All so totally unecessary too given the poor offensive series that preceded it.

Transfer Portal Honesty
All sound advice. Appreciate the opportunity you had. After all, that school recruited you and offered a scholarship. You had the chance to compete. It's OK to move on to a less competitive college where you have the chance to play. But the odds are you won't get to earn your living as a pro athlete so take advantage of the education and learn to do something that will give you a career. And enjoy your time as a college athlete and student. It's likely to be the easiest and most carefree time of your life.

CBS - Much Too Early 2022/23 College Basketball Top 25
In spite of a top #15 ranked incoming class, CBS seems to ignore that and DA's proven track record on coaching teams up. WBB: Taylor Bigby Enters Transfer Portal
This one is a bit of a surprise, but maybe not. Homesickness, early season injury then minimal playing time all probably contributed to Bigby's decision but l wonder how much communication broke down between Graves and his players as the season drifted towards mediocrity at the end. And they had one critical assistant out for maternity leave entering the Pac12. Four former five stars transferring out is a bad look. I don't think that it was all over playing time. KG calling out the team as entitled and inconsistent may have been too much for a lot of them. Pao Pao and Rogers staying is huge (judgment on Prince is reserved) but the rest of the soph-jr class is gone and in spite of the #2 class in the country coming in, next year will be a rebuild. The Sabrina-Ruthy-Satou juggernaut took three years to build and had a leader that everyone could rally around, but GOAT players don't just fall from heaven fully formed.

Would You Want Him in Your Foxhole?
I'm 6'7" and 325 lbs, a road grader in Nike cleats. Yes, that 6'3" 225 lbs guy is able to spiral a football thru a moving tractor tire at 25 yards. He'll get a better NIL deal in college and if we're both good enough to get to the next level, he will always get paid more than me. I've got to be ok with that, it's the nature of the game. It's my job to keep him upright. Not too many folks will ever know how important I am to his health and the overall well-being of the team, but he will. And I will. Football is a team sport and without me, he is running for his life. If I'm smart, I'll have a longer term plan that will outlive the cartilage in my knees. But until then I'm ok with being the big ugly up front that gets it done.

Which Oregon Football Team Was the GOAT?
My vote has to be the 2014 team. Oregon was loaded with talent but got devastated by injury that year, particularly heading into the postseason and championship game. If that team had been anywhere near full strength the natty outcome may have been different. Starters that were out. Bralon Addison Tyler Johnstone Johnny Mundt Andre Yruretagoyena Pharaoh Brown Ifo Ekpre-Olomu Devon Allen Darren Carrington (suspended for pot) Jake Fisher and Hronus Grasu were both injured and missed several games. Yet except for the stumble against Arizona, which was avenged in the Pac12 championship game, that team had a stellar year. Buckner, Armistead and MM all were 1st round draft picks. Ifo would have been if he hadn't destroyed his left knee. Fourteen other Ducks ended up playing in the NFL and several like Hill, Mundt, Brown, Hollins, Walker, Mondeaux, Jelks, Crosby, Grasu and Freeman are still there.
