  1. Oregon players excited for opportunity to enact revenge on Washington Fifth-ranked Oregon will receive it chance to avenge its only loss of the season this Friday when it meets No. 3 Washington in Las Vegas in the Pac-12 Championship Game. The Ducks will have revenge on the mind when they roll into Sin City later this week. After dispatching of one rival on Friday, knocking out a second this Friday would square up a pair of recent losses while likely sending them to the College Football Playoff too. "I'm pretty sure everybody knows that playing UW, just like it was playing OSU tonight, it's personal," wide receiver Tez Johnson said following the 31-7 victory over the Beavers. "It's personal with every team we play, but UW and Oregon State are the main two teams we want to beat." This week's rematch has acted as the team's carrot since the Oct. 14 loss in Seattle. Defensive lineman Jordan Burch says it "kept [the Ducks] balanced" and stopped them from getting "complacent". "I think after what happened at Washington, we've practiced really hard," quarterback Bo Nix said in agreement. "That would've happened regardless of the result of that game, but I think that on top of everything else, it adds a chip on your shoulder... 2. Snap Count Takeaways: Major notes from Oregon's usage report vs. Oregon State We now have a full regular season under our belts worth of usage reports for the Oregon Ducks, so it’s safe to say that we’ve got a pretty good idea of what the rotation for this team looks like, and how the depth chart formulates behind the starters. Friday’s game against the Oregon State Beavers wasn’t necessarily a time to get a good look at all of those depth pieces, though it was a resounding victory. Going forward, it may be until next spring that we see those depth pieces, too, with each game the rest of the way holding more and more meaning, against better and better competition. That’s not going to stop us from looking at the usage reports and trying to learn something new about the team each week. Here’s what we found from the snap counts this past week in a 31-7 win over Oregon State... 3. College football Week 13 takeaways: All eyes on Washington Conference championship week is upon us. This weekend, front-runners like Georgia, Washington and Michigan will try to cap their undefeated seasons and likely seal spots in the playoff. Others will try to play their way in -- and some will just try to spoil the party. Washington, in particular, has a lot on the line: a rematch with No. 6 Oregon that has playoff, Heisman and historical implications. Ohio State will watch the weekend's games from home and hope that there is just enough chaos to send the Buckeyes to the playoff -- without a Big Ten title -- for a second consecutive year. It's also a good time to look back at what some teams that aren't playoff bound -- such as Dave Doeren's sneaky good NC State team -- accomplished this year. 4. Report: Big Names Expected To Enter NCAA's Transfer Portal The NCAA's Transfer Portal window is set to open following the conclusion of the 2023 regular season. Some big names are expected to hit the portal. 247Sports' Brad Crawford is hearing some names that will "make heads spin." It should be a fascinating transfer season. "Some of the names I've heard who will enter the transfer portal will make your head spin," he tweeted out on Monday morning. As always, quarterback is the position with the most eyeballs, and some big-time programs could be going after a new signal-caller this offseason. Oregon, Washington, Nebraska, USC, Notre Dame...perhaps even Ohio State, could all target a big name at quarterback in the transfer portal this winter. Get your popcorn ready, everyone... 6. Which teams are most likely to make the College Football Playoff? The regular season has come to an end, but we’ve got a full weekend of conference championship games that will hold massive ramifications when it comes to deciding which teams end up making it to the College Football Playoff. Things start on Friday night with a matchup between No. 3 Washington and No. 5 Oregon, and are followed by a game between No. 7 Texas and No. 20 Oklahoma State, plus No. 1 Georgia and No. 8 Alabama. We will also get pivotal games between No. 4 Florida State and No. 10 Louisville, plus No. 2 Michigan and No. 17 Iowa. Based on who wins those games, we will know who gets into the CFP. You can assume that winners of conference championships get in, but when it comes to teams like Texas, Louisville, or Iowa, there may still be some questions, even if they end up winning. However, for Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Oregon, Washington, and Florida State, it seems that a win means they’re in. So how confident should each team feel about their chances? That’s where we turn to the betting market to get a true sense. Here are the latest betting odds for each team to get into the playoff, according to FanDuel Sportsbook... 7. Ranking Oregon's top 10 players vs. OSU according to PFF grades Sitting at the end of the regular season with an 11-1 record, it’s obvious that the Oregon Ducks have played a lot of really good football this season. According to Dan Lanning, though, they’ve only played two complete games. On the road in a 35-6 win over the Utah Utes, and at home this past week in a 31-7 win over the Oregon State Beavers. In those games, the Ducks never let up and played a full four quarters from start to finish. It shows, too. The level of dominance may not have lit up the scoreboard like it did against USC or Colorado, but it was as clear as day that the physicality and toughness were the difference in this blowout. As you would expect, the player grades from Pro Football Focus were pretty impressive when the victory is this dominant. Here are the top 10 rated players from the win over Oregon State... 9. STEIN NAMED BROYLES AWARD FINALIST Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein was announced as one of five finalists for the 2023 Broyles Award on Monday by the Frank & Barbara Broyles Foundation. The Broyles Award is presented annually to the top assistant coach in college football. Stein is a finalist along with Mike Bobo (Georgia), Phil Parker (Iowa), Mike Denbrock (LSU) and Sherrone Moore (Michigan). He joins Gary Crowton (2005) as the only Oregon assistant coaches ever to be named a finalist for the award. The winner of the 2023 Broyles Award will be announced at the Broyles Award ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock. Stein has directed one of the nation's most potent and balanced offenses in his first season with the Ducks. Entering Friday's Pac-12 Championship Game vs. Washington (5 p.m. PT, ABC), the Ducks lead the nation in passing offense (351.4 YPG), completion percentage (78.3), sacks allowed (5), first downs per game (27.3) and scrimmage plays of 10-plus yards (229). Oregon is No. 2 nationally in scoring offense (45.3 PPG), total offense (540.3 YPG), total yards per play (7.85) and fewest turnovers (6), and No. 3 in both yards per carry (5.84) and third-down conversion percentage (52.24). The former Oregon Ducks’ star running back posted his best day rushing in the NFL during the Rams’ 37-14 rout of the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. Freeman ran for a 77 yards and a touchdown during the game. Freeman scored on a 23-yard run, looking like the Royce Freeman who ran for at least 1,300 yards in three of his four seasons with the Ducks. 11. This year's Oregon team has concluded the regular season slate with an 11-1 record. Only three other teams have won 11 or more games in school-history. How does this year's team stack up statistically? Friday's 31-7 win over Oregon State keeps everything on the table for these Ducks. It earned them a spot in next week's Pac-12 Championship Game in Las Vegas and a win over the Huskies there would likely send them to the College Football for the second time in program-history. The win was also their 11th of the season, placing them in rarified air amongst Oregon teams. Prior to this season, only three Duck teams had ever completed the 12-game regular season with 11 or more wins. The 2012 and 2014 teams each won 11 games, while the 2010 remains the only squad to maneuver through a season with a perfect 12-0 record. Two of those teams (2010 and 2014) wound up playing for national titles, while the other is still considered by some to be the most talented Duck squad of all time. Given how unique this 2023's runs has been, I thought it a good idea to run through how they stack up by the numbers compared to those other three special seasons. I've pulled several dozen team and individual statistics and placed them side-by-side with each other to help clarify this year's standing in history. Only regular season statistics were included for this exercise. Here's a tidbit to get us started... 13. Time to pay some respect to Oregon's defense A lot can be made out of Oregon’s 31-7 blowout victory over Oregon State on Friday. Quarterback Bo Nix continued his elite level of play like he has all season, but just as impressive was the latest evidence on the dramatic change the Ducks have orchestrated defensively this season. This game wasn’t a one-off. The Beavers were only able to reach the end zone once, but that has been a common theme for Oregon opponents. Oregon State is the fourth conference opponent to score 7 or fewer points against the Ducks, with Portland State also held to just a single touchdown and Hawaii to 10 points. Oregon ranks 7th nationally in allowing just 15.92 points per game -- down from 27.4 last season. “I think a lot of people gotta start putting respect on the Oregon defense and the front seven,” linebacker Jeffrey Bassa said. “I’m so proud and so grateful for the defensive line that we have. That group is special and they pride themselves on being one of the most physical groups in the nation.” It isn’t rocket science. Lanning has seen what works in college football. During his time in Athens as the defensive coordinator at Georgia, he helped craft up one of the most dominant collegiate defenses ever seen. Now Oregon fans get to see what that looks like up close... Time to pay some respect to Oregon's defense OREGON.RIVALS.COM Oregon's defensive transformation has been dramatic this season.

  15. It happened a year ago when former Oregon Ducks offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham left Eugene after just one season to take over as the head coach for the Arizona State Sun Devils. It could potentially happen again this year, with new Oregon OC Will Stein being named among several candidates to take over as the new head coach for the Houston Cougars following the firing of Dana Holgorsen. After going 4-8 at Houston this season, Holgorsen got fired on Sunday despite having won 20 games over the previous two seasons with the Cougars. This early in the coaching carousel, you can expect a number of names to be floated out as potential candidates, and it’s not too shocking to see Stein be mentioned after the unprecedented success that the Ducks have had on offense under his leadership in 2023. 19. Predicting the CFP: What does committee do with Oregon and Ohio State after Week 13? Another week has passed, and once again, the college football landscape has been largely devoid of chaos near the top of the rankings. That’s not to say that the upsets didn’t give a great effort on Saturday of Rivalry Week, the final week of the regular season. We saw No. 1 Georgia win by a single score, while No. 4 Washington got a game-winning field goal at the horn in the Apple Cup, and No. 8 Alabama managed a miraculous game-winning touchdown on 4th and 31 with under a minute remaining in the Iron Bowl. Elsewhere, No. 5 Florida State survived, while the No. 6 Oregon Ducks blew the doors off of No. 15 Oregon State in the Civil War. Meanwhile, the biggest result was between No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Michigan, where the Wolverines won The Big Game for the third straight season. That now leaves us with an interesting question for the College Football Playoff committee — where do they rank the Buckeyes? Predicting what the CFP rankings will look like after Week 13 DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM A prediction of what the College Football Playoff rankings will look like after Week 13 of action.
  20. Pac-12 Power Rankings: The final week of Pac-12 play brings near chaos to the rankings The writing was on the wall for the Pac-12 before the 2023 football season began. This would be the final year of Pac-12 football as we know it, and it did not disappoint. With as many as eight Pac-12 teams being ranked in the AP Poll at a time, this was one of the most elite seasons the conference has ever seen. The quarterback play across the Pac-12 was a big reason for its dominance. Bo Nix and Michael Penix are finalists for the Heisman Trophy, Caleb Williams and Shedeur Sanders are high NFL Draft prospects, and there are several young QBs around the conference who’ve shown tremendous promise in 2023. On Friday, the Pac-12’s final game will be played: The conference championship between the Oregon Ducks and the Washington Huskies. Oregon and Washington have been the Pac-12’s best teams all season, and it’s only fitting that the bitter rivals will battle it out in Las Vegas for a spot in the College Football Playoff. It surely will be a great game to end on. The final day of a full Pac-12 slate gave us a lot of great games, including a thrill ride in the Apple Cup that nearly ended the Huskies’ perfect season. 21. It's now a 2-man race for the Heisman between Bo Nix and Jayden Daniels One player bet, the other one raised, the first player called, and the chips were pushed to the middle of the table. Flip the cards, let’s see what everyone has. Oregon Ducks QB Bo Nix and LSU QB Jayden Daniels have been deadlocked in a battle for the Heisman Trophy over the past few weeks, and with the regular season now behind us, it’s time to see where everyone stands. Except, Nix gets one more opportunity to strengthen his hand. That’s the benefit that you get when your team is among the best in the nation, and gets the opportunity to play for a conference championship game rather than sitting at home on the first weekend of December. Nix and the Ducks secured that opportunity with a 31-7 win over the Oregon State Beavers this week, while the 3-loss Tigers got a win over Texas A&M in the final game of their season. It could end up being the difference in the Heisman race, with the two neck-and-neck in the betting odds after Week 13... It’s now a 2-man race for the Heisman between Bo Nix, Jayden Daniels DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon Ducks QB Bo Nix and LSU QB Jayden Daniels are locked in a dead heat for the Heisman Trophy after Week 13.
  22. Oregon has among best national championship odds ahead of Pac-12 Championship Game We knew that by the end of the season, if the Oregon Ducks could take care of business and keep winning every game in front of them, there was a good chance they’d have every preseason goal still standing in front of them. One of those goals is obviously to win the national championship, and while there haven’t been a ton of upsets ahead of them in the standings, the Ducks are still standing as one of the most favored teams to win the whole thing, according to Las Vegas sportsbooks. With the loss of Ohio State ahead of them and the struggle from Florida State with a backup quarterback, we saw both the Buckeyes and Seminoles fall a bit on the odds board. That allowed others to take advantage and move up. Here are the latest national championship odds according to FanDuel Sportsbook... Oregon Football: Ducks have among best odds to win championship DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM With one game remaining, the Oregon Ducks have among the best odds in the nation to win the national championship in 2023.
  23. Stock Report: Dontae Manning steps up, while Jordan Burch puts on a clinic The end of the regular season as come, and if you’re someone who had stock in the Oregon Ducks from the start of the year, then your portfolio is likely looking pretty great right about now. For the most part, we’ve seen a lot of stocks on the rise, and only a couple that have fallen off from the start of the year. That was the trend once again on Friday night with the Ducks’ 31-7 win over the Oregon State Beavers, clinching a spot in the Pac-12 Championship Game against the Washington Huskies. It was another great showing from Bo Nix and the Oregon offense, while the Ducks’ defensive line had one of the best games of the year, holding the Beavers’ vaunted rushing attack to just 53 yards on the ground. Here are some of the biggest stock risers and fallers from Friday’s game...
