Ducks Wire Player of the Game: Troy Franklin breaks another Oregon record Troy Franklin has had a season to remember. Before the season, it was hard to imagine him playing better than he did in 2022, but his play this year is miles ahead of last season. On Saturday night, Franklin finished with 9 catches, 128 yards, and a 41-yard TD. And oh yeah, that touchdown made him the all-time leader in receiving TDs for the Oregon Ducks. This game was Franklin’s eighth game this season with over a hundred yards receiving (he also had a game with 99 yards). On the season, Franklin has 1349 yards on 77 catches, plus 14 TDs... 12 major takeaways from Ducks 31-7 Civil War blowout over Oregon State If you really wanted to argue it, nobody would have stopped you from calling Friday night’s matchup between the No. 6 Oregon Ducks and No. 16 Oregon State Beavers the biggest game of Dan Lanning’s young career. With a spot in the Pac-12 Championship on the line, and a chance to keep College Football Playoff hopes alive, Lanning’s team needed to perform. More so than that, Lanning needed a victory against a rival, something he had yet to accomplish in Eugene. Fortunately for Duck fans everywhere, all three of those things were checked off in a 31-7 beatdown in Autzen Stadium that left zero doubt when it came to who was the better team. The reward? Oregon’s second-year head coach now gets to go play the biggest game of his career next week in Las Vegas, with a rematch against the Washington Huskies, the only team to beat the Ducks this season. While we have several days to dive into that highly enticing game, let’s first take a deeper look at this matchup that could well be the final Civil War we see for quite some time, with no future game currently scheduled. Here are my biggest takeaways from the evening... 12 major takeaways from Ducks 31-7 Civil War blowout over Oregon State DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks blew out the Oregon State Beavers 31-7 on Friday, clinching a spot in the Pac-12 Championship.

Column: Dan Lanning notches his biggest win, but the stakes only get higher from here on out When the clock hit zero on Friday night inside Autzen Stadium and both teams started to congregate at the middle of the field, the scoreboard in Eugene flashed “Vegas Bound” in bright yellow letters. 31-7, Oregon Ducks over Oregon State Beavers. Bo Nix and his teammates had just won arguably the biggest game of the season in emphatic fashion, never leaving the outcome in doubt. From an opening touchdown drive that drained nearly 9 minutes off of the clock, to a last-gasp 4th-down attempt from the Beavers that fell incomplete, the Ducks were in control of this one. So while fans celebrated their first win over the in-state rivals since 2021, and relished the fact that their team clinched a rematch against the Washington Huskies, many opened up Delta apps to book a flight to Vegas... No. 6 Oregon crushes No. 16 Oregon St. for spot in Pac-12 title game Heisman Trophy candidate Bo Nix completed 33 of 40 passes for 367 yards with a pair of touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown, and the No. 6 Oregon Ducks had much to celebrate on their home field in Eugene, Ore., after their 31-7 win over No. 16 Oregon State. The game could mark the Ducks’ final rivalry game against the Beavers for some time, gives them a spot in the last Pac-12 Championship game, and furthers their bid for a place in the College Football Playoff. Oregon (11-1) won its sixth straight game and finished 8-1 in the Pac-12. Oregon State (8-4, 5-4) managed just 273 yards of total offense, including 53 on the ground after what been a successful rushing attack all season. Watch: Oregon Ducks’ Bo Nix throws incredible TD pass against the Oregon State Beavers Bo Nix may have secured the Heisman Trophy by making an incredible play Friday night. The Oregon Ducks’ quarterback, already one of the leading contenders for the award, provided a highlight against the Oregon State Beavers. Nix, facing a second-and-10 at the Beavers’ 41 with just eight seconds remaining in the first half, was flushed out of the pocket and sprinted to his right. He threw across his body to the left toward the center of the field - usually a big no-no - but his pass found wide receiver Troy Franklin at the 15. Franklin easily broke the tackle attempt by Beavers’ defensive back Ryan Cooper Jr. and waltzed into the end zone. Troy Franklin breaks all-time Oregon receiving touchdown record vs. Oregon State Last week against Arizona State, it seemed like Oregon Ducks records were just lining up to be broken. Camden Lewis became Oregon’s all-time leading scorer, Bo Nix tied the record for most TDs by a Ducks QB, and Troy Franklin broke the Oregon record for receiving yards in a single season. But, Troy Franklin wasn’t quite done making history after last week. This Saturday against the Oregon State Beavers, Troy Franklin caught his 25th receiving touchdown as a Duck to gain sole possession of the Oregon record for career receiving touchdowns. The touchdown came at the end of the second quarter on a 41-yard cross-body throw from Bo Nix. Franklin caught the pass around the 10-yard line, turned, and outran his defender to the pylon. The catch capped off a five-play, 78-yard drive that took only 40 seconds off the clock. Before this weekend, there was a five-way tie for the Oregon record of 24 TDs held by, Cristin McLemore, Keenan Howry, Jeff Maehl, Josh Huff, and Franklin. With his touchdown today, Franklin stands alone atop that list and further has cemented himself as the best Ducks receiver ever. GameDay Thread for Civil War Game: Join Us!
Pennsylvania Duck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think for Camden to make a FG, he needs to be in the middle of the field, with the goal post straight ahead. If ball is place to the left or right, he can't seen to angle it between the posts. It is very frustrating to have this show up at such an important part of the season. -
