  1. Sweeet! Great news for us!! When was the last time we had a full roster with 13 players on scholarship? It is going to be tough to get everyone playing time, but this team should be very very good next year. Richardson, Dante, Soares, Guerrier, Butler, Wur, Bittle, Barthelemy, Cousinard, Rigsby, Williams, Ware, and Johnson.
  2. If Lanning truly evaluates QBs on Point Per Possession (PPP), Nix seems to be way out in front right now based on the spring game performance.
  3. Thomas' numbers are skewed a little. Most of the time those teams were up by more than 3 TDs at half and didn't have to put the ball in the air anymore That same argument is what makes Marcus' numbers so unbelievable. GOAT!
  4. "I don't know, man, I guess I'm gonna fade into Bolivian." Mike Tyson
  5. "right hand or left, it doesn't matter, I'm amphibious." Charles Shackleford - N.C. State
  6. I will be happy with a much improved offense, beating UW, and finishing with at least 8 wins in year one.
  7. I like this, but you need a 8+ team playoff with auto bids for Power 5 conference winners or the PAC-12 is probably never getting in to the CFP under those circumstances.
  8. I am probably in the minority, but I am completely against this, especially considering the likely next steps of eliminating the divisions (no point anymore) and going to 8 conference games. The only way this works is to play a true Round-Robin schedule. Some team in the near future with the easiest conference record (missing the Top 3 teams in conference play) is going to have one more win than the team with the hardest record (missing the Bottom 3 schools in conference play) and everyone is going to go ballistic about how it is not fair.
  9. Why not have the 85 scholarship limit but allow schools to sign as many to reach that mark as necessary each year? The 25 per class rule has always been a head scratcher for me. If you need 15 to reach 85, then sign 15. If you need 40 to reach 85, then sign 40.
  10. Here are my favorites. I don't own any of these currently, but did have two early Broncos a when I was younger (1970 and 1976). It was a mistake to sell those. Sports Car: 66 Shelby GT350 Truck: Early Ford Bronco Sedan: 1964 Lincoln with suicide doors
  11. I would also be completely shocked if it was not Nix. How could it not be Nix? He has every advantage right now....overall college experience, experience with Dillingham, and experience against Georgia. Throw in the fact that Lanning has indicated that his top evaluation criteria for a QB is points per possession. If that is the case, Nix separated himself pretty well in the spring game. I don't see how he is not the guy unless he is hurt.
  12. This is a great post. There is a HUGE talent gap in the Pac-12 between the Top 3 teams (Oregon, USC, and Washington) and the rest of the conference. Each of those three teams have more than DOUBLE the number of 4&5 star prospects of fourth place UCLA. Oregon has the most roster talent in the PAC and Mario is directly responsible for that. Talent can mask a ton of problems and there is no question that Mario can get talent in the door. Oregon had a ton of issues under Mario on both offense and defense, but a lot of those issues were masked by the talent he was able to put on the field. TVD is an outstanding QB and he is going to make Mario look pretty good next year. In fact, I wouldn't be totally surprised if he pulled it off next year and won the ACC. The ACC is in a similar situation with the PAC in that there are three teams with the majority of the talent in the conference - Clemson, Miami, and North Carolina. Miami's roster has almost equivalent talent level to Oregon's roster, so he will do pretty well. However, Mario's coaching decisions and his 'we are going to have more physicality' offense is going to keep him from winning it all. This is an awesome take: "His glaring weakness is his offensive philosophy is akin to a penny slot gambler who minimum bets" LOL!
  13. This is a great pickup. He has good handles and shoots it will and will likely continue to improve.
  14. True, but 39% is just flat out bad. Yikes! This one is a head scratcher for sure. Hopefully he shoots it a little better next year. It sounds like he was coming on a little at the end of the year, so lets hope that continues.
  15. “SC's returning four starters from an O-line that was rated No. 1 in the country last year” LOL! What??? Not even close. They were not even the best in the Pac-12. In line yards per carry, Oregon State (3.26), Oregon (3.21), and Arizona State (3.17) all averaged above 3. What about USC? They averaged 2.83 line yards per carry. Utah and OSU were both better in pass blocking as well, allowing significantly less sacks. That is a completely insane comment.
  16. Ejected for that? Quite the change from the the 80s pro sports that I grew up watching as a kid. I imagine that Bill Laimbier and Chuck Cecil were laughing in a bar together somewhere when that was called.
  17. Agree. I think the going public part is the big issue here, not the fact that he is looking for a better deal.
  18. They still have the second most talent in the conference right now and now they have a good coach. They might need a year to shore up their OL and DL, but it will happen. After this upcoming season, they will be winning 10+ games consistently. Hopefully we can keep pace with them.
  19. So true about injuries. If either of our starting corners goes down, we are going to have some issues. We are really thin there. USC’s plan of signing all the DBs so nobody else has any is starting to work.
  20. Pretty sure scholarships are renewed on a yearly basis?? I am 100% supportive of players getting money for NIL, but this is quickly turning into pay for play, which I don’t think is good. Wong’s blast can’t be good for team chemistry. I wonder if his teammates are supportive of his give more money or I quit attitude? If I was a coach, I would be saying you better keep your NIL deals to yourself. If a player decided to run with a social media blast like Wong, I would simply say to them that their scholarship will not be renewed next year. Good luck.
  21. I don't think it is a diss. We have a completely new staff, new QB, and a very difficult schedule with Georgia, BYU, and 5 away conference games. If I had to bet, I would probably go with the over at 9 wins.
  22. I have to think that DAT was speeding up to try and get the angle to get a block on No 31 just before the goal line and thought that Marcus already had the other defender beat. there were so many mistakes in that game. This is just the one that comes front and center every time. DAT probably takes too much grief for it.
  23. Completely agree. Despite throwing the worst pass of the entire game, Nix put up points. He did enough to be No 1 heading into Fall camp
