I am not sure what is funnier for me. Miami getting knocked out of the playoff and ending up in the Pop-Tarts Bowl or the fact that Cam Ward just doubled down on it: "You about to see the best thing that ever happened in the Pop-Tarts Bowl" Ward said. Seriously Cam? Nobody is about to see that, because they will be watching the playoffs instead.

Agree. Not bothered at all by this loss. UCLA is back in the Top 25 and is 14 in the NET ranking. If you are going to lose a game, lose one to a good team. This didn’t hurt Oregon’s ranking or potential seeding very much.

I respect that opinion. I think for me, it is more about who is trending in the right direction and who can compete right now. Bama has been struggling and couldn’t even score against TD against a team with 2 conference wins. South Carolina has won 6 straight games down the stretch. Three of those games were against Top 25 teams in the month of November and may include a CCG winner if Clemson beats SMU. For me, one team is trending up, while the others (Miami, Bama, and Ole Miss) are trending down. I would have liked to see South Carolina get rewarded for their improvement on the field over the past 2 months.

Agree with this. It should have been South Carolina. While Alabama was busy losing to a 2-6 conference team, South Carolina has been on a roll since October, beating three ranked teams in the process.

This would be a terrible loss. USC is 171 in the NET and I believe that is the lowest BIG team. This will be a Q3 or Q4 loss. Need to get it together and win this game.

I think it is very likely and almost a done deal that the 5 seed is going to get some combination of the BIG-12 winner and Mountain West winner in the first and second rounds. The benefit of being the 5 seed is that you potentially have the easiest path to the semifinals, even though you have to play an extra game. You are going to have to beat the best eventually anyways to win the whole thing, so I sure hope Oregon wins on Saturday. But if for some reason they don’t, it’s probably not the end of the world. I think that last SEC team will end up as the 11 seed, but we shall see. I would also love to beat Alabama. My niece is in school there right now.

There is one stat that truly outlines how big of an upgrade Lanning was from Cristobal. Cristobal lost to 4 unranked conference opponents in three years at Oregon. Lanning lost to 0 unranked conference opponents in three years at Oregon.
