  1. Lunardi still has Oregon as a 2 seed as of yesterday. Jerry Palm has us as a 3 Seed. Need to beat Maryland tomorrow. I hope we decide to play a little defense.
  2. NET ranking went from 11 to 23. That one hurt.
  3. Starting conference play with 5 of 6 games against Q1 teams is really rough. Typically, Oregon didn't play that many Q1 games in an entire season in the PAC. The schedule is so challenging, Oregon should have 12-14 Q1 games by the end of the year.
  4. Yeah. Should have been a "W" for withdraw, and "I" for incomplete, or the forever famous "X" no basis for grade.
  5. After this last game, I would probably give Jeremiah Smith all $5M.
  6. Oregon loses so much, I think it is going to take some time next year to fill all the gaps and get going. That game at Penn State is going to be very difficult to win considering our situation. I hope I am wrong. Defense: DB- Lose all 5 starting DBs, including nickel and 8 of 10 on the current 2 deep. Complete overhaul. LB - Lose both starting LBs and 3 of 4 on the two deep. Complete overhaul. DL - Lose 3 of 4 on the starting DL (assuming Harmon goes pro). We have some depth at Edge, but interior will be an overhaul. Offense: QB - Lose starter. Backup struggled as a freshman and is promising but unproven. RB - Probably lose James to pro, but Whit should be back with Riggs. Looks promising. OL - Losing 3 of 5 on the starting line (assuming Conerly goes pro). Got some key transfers, so might be okay? TE - Losing the starter and 2 of top 3. Sadiq can fill one hole, but have question marks after that. WR - Lose all 3 starting WRs (assuming Evan goes pro). Lots of unproven talent. Complete overhaul.
  7. Here is my honest opinion. I don’t see A as a viable option. Oregon might only have 4-6 returning starters on both sides of the ball combined. There are a ton of holes to fill and I don’t believe stacking talent from the portal is going to get them to 13-0 next year. It takes time to learn the playbook, gel, align with team culture, and execute as a true team. If you are plugging a few holes with high quality transfers, then I think you have a great shot (osu2 this year). If you are trying to do that with the majority of the starting positions on your roster (Colorado model), I don’t see that getting you to the promise land in the BIG. At some point you have to start developing your younger blue chip players. IMO, Oregon is a long shot for the playoffs next year, so now is the time to get these highly talented underclassmen some experience and see who steps up. I like where we are headed with 6-10 transfers competing with our existing talent for starting positions. I think Dan is right on track with this. We should be in great position to make another run in 2026.
  8. I believe that Illinois victory was the largest margin of victory for a road team against a Top 10 team in the history of the NCAA. So, yes, I think this was somehow even worse than the football loss.
  9. The only guy that really showed up tonight was Supreme Cook. That was extremely disappointing to get embarrassed at home like that. That might have been worse than the football game yesterday. It’s close.
  10. UW beat Maryland, so they should be plenty pissed when we play them. Yikes.
  11. Wow. Not a good week to be a duck. Getting absolutely run off the floor.
  12. The basketball team is having trouble scoring too. 26% from the field in the first 10 minutes. I hope we wake up soon.
  13. The teams without a bye outscored teams with a bye by 81-21 in the first half of those 4 games. That is telling. 25 days off is way too much. In hindsight, Oregon should have run Coach Beaulieu’s offense from the Bourbon Bowl in the CCG and just refused to score.
  14. Agree with this to some extent. osu2’s roster blue chip ratio is 90% for this year, while Oregon is still at 76%. That is a pretty significant difference. In addition, I would argue that is likely skewed based on our last two recruiting classes and a chuck of that number for Oregon is still underclassmen. We are clearly not there yet, but heading in the right direction. That being said, I don’t believe that osu2 is 34 first half points better than Oregon. I watched the entire game and literally everything was subpar. The defense is getting picked on here and rightfully so. However, it wasn’t any worse than the OL, which was absolutely abused. This might have been their worst game of the season, and that is saying something after games 1 and 2. There were several times where Gabriel had a check down option on the right hand side of the field that was WIDE OPEN. Sadiq and WRs were sitting there without a defender within 10 yards of the them and he took a sack or forced the ball into traffic. He has made that play all year. What happened? I am not even sure what to say about the linebacker and safety play in this game. It was so bad that I don’t have any words for it. I reread this and it is pretty negative. So I am going to add that I like where Oregon is headed and I think we have the right leader. It is just going to take time. That one was just hard to watch yesterday.
  15. Just not quite good enough…yet again. It is very difficult being a Duck fan. I thought this team was further along and getting closer to being in position to win it all, but the game tonight was very telling. Oregon was outmatched at every position on the field. That being said, it was a fun season and a good run. I just don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel for Oregon. It is like they are destined to be the team that gets close, but can never get over the hump.
  16. What a brutal game. Will Oregon ever get over the top or are they the equivalent of the 1990s Buffalo Bills?
  17. Both times the outlet was wide open on the right side of the field and DG takes two sacks. Yikes.
  18. That Penn State defense is elite and Oregon hung 45 on them. No other team scored more than 30 on them all year. The media and non-Oregon fans are sleeping on Oregon’s offense right now IMO.
  19. Do you think if Oregon wins it all, ESPN will finally figure out where the No.1 team in the nation actually plays home football games??
  20. So much for my argument about South Carolina. Alabama did about as well as expected. Nice to see the committee actually got it right. Maybe that will quiet the SEC clowns for a day or so.
  21. Yes! Congrats Louisville!!
  22. I am getting in on this. I am very confident in Oregon winning this game. Oregon made a bunch of mistakes last time around and still won the game. IMO they left 11+ points on the table. Over the past 2 games, Oregon's offense is really clicking and scored 40+ on both a Top10 team in pass defense and a Top10 team in total defense. I don't see any reason to think they won't score 40+ here. Also, IMO the media is overacting to what osu2 did to Tennessee, who had a freshman QB, on the road, and struggled all year to score points. Oregon 43-28 1 4 385
  23. . DT's decision-making ability was outstanding. He was the ultimate game manager. Not only did he not make critical mistakes, he rarely missed a read in that offense. He was a master in Chip's offense and executed it at a very high level. I still believe that if Chip had not been so stubborn in that game forcing the run in the first half and had unleased DT sooner to throw the ball all over the field, we would be sitting on a Natty right now.
  24. IMO, to win the entire thing, you are going to have to beat tOSU at some point. So what does it matter if it is next week, the week after that or in the final? Therefore, I am not too upset about the draw. You either win the whole thing or you don’t. For me it doesn’t matter which round you get knocked out in. As a wise man once said, “If you ain’t first, you’re last”. If Oregon does lose, I still think the season is a huge success. Going into the BIG and running the table was amazing first year accomplishment. Lanning has this thing moving in the right direction and IMO it is only a matter of time until he wins one, if it is not this year. That being said, I really think Oregon is going to win this game by 7+ points. Last time around, the offense was doing whatever it wanted and they left 10+ points on the table. The scary thing is that the offense is playing better right now. I have confidence in Lanning and this team.
