If you are then I'll take them both to get the little Bro
-
Are you hinting that little Bro is going to commit and big Bro is going to transfer here?

Ruiz is Mario's bother in law and does the LifeWallet thing and that's going to be worth billions. So, Mario's bother in law funds the NIL. Hell part of Mario's 80 million deal is Ruiz money and the guy wants to build a new stadium

Mario is a Saban disciple and Saban got it back in 2014 when he hired Lane Kiffin. I've read quotes of Saban saying we decided we had to outscore people. Nick Saban, Lane Kiffin and the year that changed Alabama football forever WWW.ESPN.COM When Nick Saban wanted to modernize Alabama's offense, he turned in a surprising direction. But his partnership with Lane Kiffin planted the seeds for the record-breaking Alabama offense we see today. There's a chance Mario figures it out a decade after Saban did and opens up the offense. He has a great OC in Gattis that he just needs to let do his thing and learn from like Saban did with Kiffin.

I think The OSU got it Trademarked to auto correct PSU to OSU, that crowd is shameless. You made a great point though, Joe used to pound Barkley and Air the Ball Out, it was a 40 plus point a game offense. We didn't see that from Joe here.
-
Moorehead was never at OSU, he was at PSU under Franklin with McSorley as his QB and Barkley as his tailback and won the 2016 B1G Championship and played USC in a Rose Bowl Shootout. That game had over 100 points scored and was Sam Darnold's breakout year.

Mario hired the Broyles Award winner Gattis away from Michigan to be his OC. I would think Gattis isn't going to be having his play calling wings clipped to hard, He is going to want to be a HC someday and won't want his Rep hurt. Plus, Mario has TVD back and all the U fans know how he held Herbs back, and they will go APE if he does the same with TVD. The U fans who weren't on the Hire Mario bandwagon have a list and are waiting to yell about anything they can. That includes holding TVD back, choking up games late to teams they should beat, poor clock management, and not least of all calling a timeout before a snap is made in a football game. I'm expecting we are going to see Mario embrace a more open offensive style.

Does Oregon Have a Potential QB Dilemma??
DazeNconfused replied to DanLduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Ewers had a I think a perfect 100 rating as a recruit, so if he wants to come and sit a year you TAKE him all day long. You also take the next Cameren Ward who just moved from Incarnate Word to Wazzu. Then you let the QB1 shake out on the practice field. You also spend the time and money to chase the top camp QB's knowing your going to hit and miss some years. You have to be playing the game on all three levels. Then you accept that some of your QB's are going to leave you through the Portal as they are at all the schools. If Bo can have a really solid year that will give Coach Dilly currency to throw his hat in the ring for the Elite QB's who hit the Portal. -
The Weekend of the 'Lanning Launch' Into the Elite?
DazeNconfused replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Elite is a high bar, but he already is really good. I'd like to see us push for the Lehi, Utah 4-star Edge and Top 100 Tausli Akana, would be nice to keep the Utah pipeline flowing. -
Vernon Adams was really good at trusting his WR's to make a play and putting the ball in a spot where they could go get it. On the other hand, I was screaming for Lockie to put the ball up and trust his WR's all the time. Lockie averaged half the yards per completion than VA while only completing 3% less of his passes. AB missed a TD throw or read every other game! Then add in the other reads or missed throws every game.

The Multi-sport Athlete Has A Huge Advantage!
DazeNconfused replied to Haywarduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I've seen a lot of Oregon HS kids who hit 90mph and they all went to OSU. Wetlzer, Stutes, Patterson, Jayce Fry, Turpen, Greg Moore, ect. I think 2 McMinnville kids threw gas when I was in HS went to OSU. The Mc has farm kids with arms That's a trend Coach Waz needs to stat chipping into logically, right? -
This could be a glimpse of Ty blooming like he did in HS or a Red Herring. Ty grew during HS and end of HS tape he makes ALL THE THROWS! He looks like everything the OBD crew dreamt of, he jumped like 100 plus spots in national, 247 rankings his last year. Ty kicked rear at the Elite 11, didn't he win the Alpha Dog? Ty looked so good I question Mario not starting the kid and let him take his Lumps, Ty's upside seemed huge! It takes guts to roll with a Frosh and suffer those Lumps, but coaches are doing it more and more now. I don't know maybe I'm wrong about throwing the kid out there as a True Frosh with solid OL, Verdell/Dye, deep WR's................. We have fall camp to play out with 3 QB's who were all Dudes coming out of HS, Butters was the lowest rated and still around a Top 120 guy. I have zero preference on who wins out as QB1, it's a non-issue to me. The end game is we have Dudes and if Dilly don't have a successful QB next year then I'm looking at him first.

Does Oregon Have a Potential QB Dilemma??
DazeNconfused replied to DanLduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
We have reached the point as a program we don't have problems; we have obstacles and challenges. Dante Moore is The Guy we want. Johnson is a take for me just on his Sunshine Look. But if we don't get an Elite QB in this class it's not the end of the world. There are only so many Elite QB prospects each year and some years you might bet all in on an Elite 5-star and loose out. That don't kill you because you have the Portal. Ewers, Caleb Williams, Jaxson Dart, Penix Jr, Keeden Slovis, Daniels at ASU, Delarua at Wazzu, and other OB's I know I'm missing all moved in the Portal this year. Plus, the kid from Incarnate Wood went to Wazzu with his OC Eric Morris. We got 3 Dudes in Bo, Butters, and Ty the QB room isn't in crisis and can live without a QB this year -
Coach Adams Continues to Roll in Hot Recruiting
DazeNconfused replied to DanLduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I forgot to echo you here on how big a GET this kid would be and how close we are. We are top 3 with Michigan and Texas; we need this kid! Texas just beat us for Lefuea the Hawaii 4-star LB I wanted today. Texas beat us for Xavier Worthy last year and he ended up Frosh All American It would be nice for Lanning to punch back at Texas and Pull Johntay. We have Thorton and Franklin both super high 4-stars, it would be nice to raise the bar with some 5-star talent. -
Coach Adams Continues to Roll in Hot Recruiting
DazeNconfused replied to DanLduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Coach is Lit, as the kids say. Adams get more credit as 5-star WR Samuel M'Pemba from IG Academy in FL on campus this weekend. The Miami boards covet this kid, so he is a huge pull if we get him to Oregon just for the fact, they will have a meltdown. Oregon Recruiting: 5-star Samuel M’Pemba reschedules visit to Oregon DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Add 5-star ATH Samuel M’Pemba to the long list of highly-rated prospects in Eugene this weekend. -
I've felt good about Ducks recruiting since early on in the Laning Era. We went head-to-head with USC for Florance and got him back after his decommit. We also pulled Luli back in against USC and Miami, we flipped Justice Lowe from the Utes, flipped Austin Jones from I think it was Texas? We also nabbed Harrison Taggart late in the game. Then we beat USC again for Connerly Jr and landed Kyler Kasper. Those results are amazing to pull 11th hour without having had the long-term time to build relationships with players. Our staff has the juice and swagger these young kids can relate to and feel like they can come have fun while also getting coached up.

Washington Back in Bowl in 2022: 'Definitely Maybe'

I totally agree. Deboer needs a turnaround season to give him a boost recruiting, and he will need to work the Portal. -
Washington Back in Bowl in 2022: 'Definitely Maybe'
DazeNconfused replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think when you look at UW talent and what Jimmy Lake did last year it's damming. You couldn't have done much worse than Lake did as HC. I mean Lake hired Donovan as OC who Coach Franklin had ran out of Penn St. Then Franklin hired Moorhead replaced him and the offense was way better. Lake should have known what he was getting in Donvan who he fired mid-year after the Duck game. UW did good to fire Lake and get an offensive coach in DeBoer. Charles you're an offensive mind guy, go back and watch DeBoer sets he used against the Ducks last year. DeBoer is a everything and the kitchen sink type guy. Through Fresno games I saw last year he ran all kind of stuff I can't even keep up with. He runs tons of different set/motions., way over my head but I like it. Empty Empty with a H back off the line 11 personnel with RB ,TE and H back to one side and then motion them to other side 10 with pistol back 10 under center with a H Back with Z motion 10 Shotgun Pistol Back with 2x2 set with and without motion 20 Pistol H Back 2x1 set 11 Bunch with motion and a sweep 10 with H back 2x1 set and no motion pass play or motion a sweep off the set 10 with a 3 set to field side with motion back to the boundry side and send the back out for pass in the flat on boundry I might not even have described all these sets I saw correctly and he ran more than I can recall. He sows confusion watching the darn game with all his sets that he goes multiple off of. I just know you see lots of different sets and he can run anything off them. Deboer is going to make the UW offense twice as good as last year instantly. Of course, after all the Mario ball I might have just been easily dazzled watching DeBoer? HAHA -

DazeNconfused replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
UW should make a bowl game this year, they still have about the third most blue-chips on their roster in the PAC 12. They made a great hire in DeBoer, a coach I'd have taken at Oregon. This guy was Chip Kelly good as head at NAIA Sioux Falls and won 3 Nattys and some ridiculous type record of 60-5 or something. DeBoer was phenomenal and might just shake out as a great big time college football coach. DeBoer was at Fresno St in 2017 - 2018 as the OC under the mentorship of Jeff Tedford, a quality HC. Deboer then went Indiana in 2019 as the OC and worked with OB Penix Jr who transferred to UW. Then when Tedford retired Frenso brought him back as the HC in 2020, last year he led Fresno to a 9-3 season. They played Oregon tough to a one score game and beat UCLA, both games on the road. This Dude can coach. He has Penix Jr,, 4-star Dylan Morris at QB who both have good game experience and 5-star Sam Huard coming into his second year. He gets a 2-time 1st Team All Pac tackle Kirkland back from injury, and that's HUGE as the OL underperformed for the talent they had last year. He has a couple WR's back, UW usually has some dudes who can run the ball. They also added a couple WR and at least one RB from the Portal. The defense seems iffy, they weren't beasts on the DL last year. Edge Tupa- Fetia who was 2nd team All American in 2020, and maybe their best LB were both out what seemed to be most of last year. Getting these two guys back and if 5-star Sav'ell Smalls breaks out it will be a huge lift. Smalls is a guy to watch, I wanted the Ducks to land this kid two years ago. They lost two stating DB's to the NFL but Jimmy Lake was a great DB coach and recruiter so they cupboard shouldn't be bare there. I know they brought in a starting DB from the Portal and a LB from Pitt who was a starter. This UW team should have around four OL on roster who were 4-stars and should be starting, they should have three kids 4 star or higher at DL/Edge. They should still have a couple 4 -star LB, WR, and DB's to mix with the transfers. BeBoer should be able to turn them like Slick Willie did the Ducks in his first year. I say 7-5 with losses to Mich State, Beavers, Tree, Ducks, UCLA. -
HAHA! Funny post and good points. Quinn can't hit the portal again without sitting out a year, if he wins the job this year then I think Arch will sit a year behind him in 2023.

Could Jay Butterfield Thrive in Oregon’s New Offense?
DazeNconfused replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I'm not sleeping on Butters, and I haven't written Ty off yet. I rate the QB's as Bo QB1, Butters QB2, Ty QB3. But we have lots of summer camp coming and Butters and Ty will be getting more time in the new offense. I think Butters gets through all his progressions as well as Bo if not better and was the best QB in the Spring Game checking the ball down by far. My worry with Bo is if he will be to aggressive throwing balls into coverage shooting for big plays and turn the ball over. I also worry about his random BONEHEAD picks. If the pressure to be The GUY causes Bad Bo shows up, I can see Butters getting his shot. Butters doesn't have the pressure to be a game changer QB that I feel Bo will have on himself. Butters is the guy who if he gets through his progressions and get the ball to the guy the defense is giving him, well he is excelling then. Sometimes offenses go better when the QB just takes what the Defense gives him and lets his skill guys make plays. Butter's ability to get all the way to his check down tends to create fewer negative plays. I see Bo as the Gun Slinger type and Butters as more Field General type -
I disagree. OSU lost series to Tree early in the year at HOME. OSU closed the Pac 12 regular season losing the last two series at Zona and home to UCLA, dropping 4 straight during the two weekends. ACC, B1G, Big 12, SEC, all played a conference Tourney. OSU came into the season really strong but lots of other teams seemed to improve as the year went, OSU not so much. OSU went 9-9 from the Zona series two weeks from the end of the regular season until getting beat yesterday. OSU made key errors in the post season and left runner stranded yesterday. Watching them I just don't feel they were that darn good, or there is just lots of parity in college baseball right now. 9-9 down the stretch seems to make you an overrated #3 national seed. I think if you asked OSU players, they would say not making Omaha is on them, Forrester had one hit this weekend, Bazzanna left guys on base ever at bat yesterday, and had a key error. War Eagle played some great D in the outfield laying out to for 3 run saving catches this weekend I saw at least, their closer had a great fastball and changeup, Sonny D had two huge homeruns. Tip the hat to War Eagle, they earned that Omaha berth.

Is Bo Nix Winning the Heisman a Total Pipe Dream?
DazeNconfused replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Writers or pundits who go 15-25 deep in Heisman speculation are trying to fill a print quota or airtime if you ask me.lol The list stops being real after about 7 players to me. It's the big name QB's at the big-name schools. Young, Stroud, Williams at Bama, The OSU, USC. 2nd tier all big-name schools Tyler Van Dyke QB - Miami Jaxson Smith-Nijbia WR - The OSU Bjain Robinson RB - Texas Jordan Addison WR- USC Darkhorse- Treyvon Henderson RB - The OSU - he could approach 2000 yards and 25 TD's Travis Dye RB - USC - almost 1700 rush/receiving yards last year and 18 TD's on well over 100 less touches than Christian McCaffery had in 2015, give Dye the extra 100 touches and he could end up around 2500 yards and 25 TD's -
Is Bo Nix Winning the Heisman a Total Pipe Dream?
DazeNconfused replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I'm thinking I'd take Bo over DJ from what I've seen of them, but I'd take Cade Klubnik over them both just watching the kid in the Clemson Spring Game. Kid threw around mid 60's% completions to DJ who was under 50%. Cade didn't throw as many deep balls to be fair. But any true Frosh enrolls early and can throw for around 65% in the Spring Game I'm liking the odds of him being able to mix in the deeper routes come end of the summer. Matter of fact I'd bet on Cade taking this job over by week 6.
