GAMEDAY! Oregon vs JMU: Let's Discuss!
JMU just needs to run the ball and stay in bounds to keep the clock running. Oregon looks good, but this just doesn’t even seem sporting.

Let’s Discuss: Ole Miss/Tulane Matchup…
I think it will be much worse honestly. Hopefully it will be a good warmup game for the Ducks to get ready for the next round. Been awhile since they’ve played

Alabama at Oklahoma: Let's Discuss!
Schumann will likely get a shot at some point, but even with so many openings I haven’t heard his name mentioned. Also, the fact that Muschamp took the Texas DC job makes me think Schumann isn’t likely to leave. Although, money talks, and the rumor is that Texas just made Muschamp the highest paid coordinator in the country.

Define Success for Oregon
Great post and I 100% agree! Play your best and let the chips fall where they may. It’s sports so it’s not always so cut and dry, when it comes to winning a championship though. We can look back at most national championship teams and see a bit of luck or providence or whatever one may call it during their season. I will freely admit that my Dawgs certainly benefited in 21 and 22 from a bit of good fortune. Doesn’t at all take away from the accomplishment, but it could have certainly easily turned a different way. Your comments though remind me of my Dawgs playing for the title at the end of the 2017 season. We played well and I was extremely proud and also a bit heartbroken. In the end we were beaten by a team that played just a little better and deserved it a bit more, but while heartbroken, I was extremely proud of our team. If the Ducks play to the level that they are capable, they will be a very hard out, and may very well win it all! I’m not sure exactly what I think just yet. To be honest, if UGA plays near their best I’m not sure anyone can beat them, but I’ll admit that I’m a bit biased in that regard. Either way, I’m going to enjoy these Playoff games as much as possible! I hate the off season! Go Ducks & Go Dawgs!!!!!!!!

Alabama at Oklahoma: Let's Discuss!
If Bama can run the ball I think they win. However, that’s a tough ask I’m thinking against this OU defense. So it will come down to pass protection for the Bama offense I assume. Hard to consistently protect your QB if they know your passing though! Either way, I’m gonna go against the grain a bit and say Bama wins in a close one. We will hear no less that 20 times that Ryan Williams is only an 18 year old Sophomore, but he will earn his praise tonight and become the game MVP! In truth…🤷 I’m honestly just hoping for a great game!

Define Success for Oregon
Well, obviously the goal is a national championship, so anything less brings with it a bit of disappointment. Oregon has one of the best coaches and is one of the top programs in the country, so not winning it all should bring a little disappointment. However, I do think getting to the semifinals should be considered a successful season, so long as Oregon is competitive in said semifinal game. I can’t imagine that Oregon wouldn’t be competitive in any game, so long as they don’t just have an uncharacteristically terrible game. So for on the field success, I say get to the semifinals. While in truth I’ll be a bit disappointed for the Ducks if they don’t win it all. One thing I’d love to see but is also my worst nightmare is Oregon and UGA playing for it all! If that happens I’ll be much worse than a nervous wreck come January 19th!😂 I do very much hope it happens though!!!

Jealousy: Nothing Like The First Time, Take it All In
Oh I’m afraid that Sumrall is going to be exactly what you guys need. Also, Buster Faulkner is going to pay huge dividends for you guys as OC! I really wanted Buster for us, but I guess I can’t complain as Bobo has certainly exceeded my expectations. I do honestly think that Buster is one of the best OC’s in the business though, and if I’m being honest, that has me very worried! I too would love to see us play Ohio State again, but I’m certainly concerned about it. We had a great comeback in that last game with them, but I’ll admit we were also very fortunate (lucky).

Go Suck A Fart Notre Dame!
It does sound like sour grapes that ND is refusing to play in a bowl game, but it also makes me think of FSU playing in a bowl game against UGA after they got snubbed in 2023. They were missing like 20 starters or something and of course UGA just destroyed them! It was 63-3! I’m not saying that FSU would have won that game against GA if they had their true team, but they had zero chance with the opt-outs and everyone used that beat down as justification that the committee made the right call, when it’s obvious that FSU deserved a chance, even after losing their QB. I don’t have any idea how many ND players would have opted out, but the fact that they voted not to play makes me think many would have. This is likely a big reason to avoid the bowl game for the Irish. I’m certainly not a ND fan, but I can’t say I disagree with skipping a meaningless bowl if they were not going to have a team resembling their true 2025 team.

Offensive Coordinator Candidates
Well crap, the rumor is that Buster Faulkner is likely headed to Florida! This is terrible news! Buster would be at the top of my OC list for sure. It’s also rumored that UGA wanted Faulkner this past offseason, but we would only offer him a co-offensive coordinator position. I can’t blame him for turning that down. I hate to see him go to Gainesville though, he will do very well there and it makes me a bit 🤢🤮!!! I really wish Oregon could swoop in and steal him away. I think he would be a great fit in Eugene.

ESPN College Football Gameday at SEC Championship Game
I think it’s mostly about the broadcasting rights. ESPN and Co. are going to promote the SEC at every available opportunity, just as FOX will promote the B1G.

Holy Crap! Never, Never, NEVER in Recruiting at Oregon Before!
Oh yeah, I too would love to see that! I’d also be a nervous wreck, because for me it would guarantee a bit of heartbreak, but also a silver lining. I’d be happy to take it though, I would just have to remember my Father’s true but cliche saying “You can’t have your cake and eat it too!”😂

Holy Crap! Never, Never, NEVER in Recruiting at Oregon Before!
I truly believe that this success is a direct result of Dan Lanning. Critics will certainly say that “well, it’s just a product of Phil Knight and all that Nike money.” Ok, so sure, the money helps make it possible, but Lanning is cut from the same cloth as Kirby Smart in this regard. He is ultra competitive and can’t stand to lose, so he tirelessly works his butt off to give his team any advantage that he can. Such as winning in recruiting HS players, and solidifying talent levels through the portal. What’s more is that much like Kirby, he not only knows what to do and gives his all to accomplish it, he is learning how to accomplish it! I hated losing Lanning, but It’s great to see him at the only other D-1 team I love, and it’s great to see that like Kirby, he is completely loyal to his team! I haven’t heard a whisper of any big time programs even making slight rumblings of trying to attract him. Lanning must have shut that down immediately before it even got started. Otherwise I’m sure he would have been a major target in this crazy coaching carousel.

Holy Crap! Never, Never, NEVER in Recruiting at Oregon Before!
I assume this change is due to Hartline leaving for South Florida. Is it a given that tOSU is a no? Certainly hoping the Ducks can reel Chris Henry Jr in! Great recruiting class either way though! Congrats my Duck friends, this class will pay dividends and I’m very happy to see it!

Jared Curtis flips from UGA!
Absolutely no offense taken, and really it’s not a huge deal for me anyway. It is very disappointing to have lost Curtis, but there is likely a good reason he is staying home. Could be money, or family, or whatever. I do wish him well, at least until we play him. Seriously though, I’m fussing about nothing. Kirby has taken our recruiting to extreme heights, so I’ve got nothing to fuss about on that front. I trust him and our staff. I would say the same for Lanning. I was very disappointed to see him leave, but very happy to see him take the job in Eugene. You guys also have a great HC, and he seems to love coaching The Ducks!!! Hopefully we will beat Bama, but I’m certainly nervous about it! I do think we are the better team, but Bama has certainly had our number! I’m thinking that changes, but we will see.

Jared Curtis flips from UGA!
So it’s official, Curtis decides to stay home and play early as a Commodore.

Jared Curtis flips from UGA!
However this goes, it’s been a tough day for UGA recruiting! Jarmaine Mitchell has just flipped from UGA to Arizona State. Mitchell is the number 1 overall juco recruit on 247. Another disappointing happening as we could all always use another stud offensive lineman! Not a huge surprise, but you can never have enough depth on the OL!

Jared Curtis flips from UGA!
I do think that this is a big possibility. It could be that he wants to stay home, but I wouldn’t doubt Vandy boosters having opened up their checkbooks so to speak. They have gotten a little taste of success, and it certainly tastes good! Either way, I can’t blame either. I do hope it works out for him whatever he decides, but I honestly think his QB career would be better served in Athens.

Jared Curtis flips from UGA!
I’m honestly thinking that he has indeed flipped and is likely annoyed that it was leaked before he could announce it. Time will tell the tale though.
