  1. I’m bummed about Beck being injured, I hope it’s not too bad and doesn’t plummet his draft stock. Could be silver linings for us though, Stockton adds a new element for our offense so hopefully that pays dividends? Only time will tell, but GA is still GA so it’s very unlikely we will be an easy out in the Playoff. Heck, we might even see GA vs Oregon before it’s over! I’m excited and worried at the same time! 😁
  2. Bo has transitioned well to the NFL. I’m very happy to see it. Wasn’t happy when he tore my Falcons up last weekend😂, but I’m very pleased to see him playing so well. He is a winner
  3. Good for Bucky! I loved watching him tote it for the Ducks! Love to see it!
  4. I agree with you. It’s going to be interesting to see how this plays out. As a rule, I think it should be very rare for a 3 loss team to make the Playoff aside from a 3 loss conference winner. If GA were to lose a close game in the SEC championship, perhaps with their resume, they might warrant a spot depending on what the field looks like and assuming they beat GA Tech. In the end, wins and losses should mean something. SOS, eye test, etc….. will be used in an attempt to cut the fat and while being a bit subjective, it’s just the way it’s going to be and we all will have to live with that unless our teams leave no doubt. So far as SEC bias? Of course there is SEC bias. Just as wins and losses mean something, so does reputation. Like it or not, the SEC has all but dominated CFB more years than not on a national stage for awhile now. I don’t mean to convey an arrogant attitude on this just bc my Dawgs are SEC, but of course there is going to be some bias regarding the SEC. If other conferences want to make this bias disappear the fix is simple, don’t let the SEC win National Championships for a few more years and change the narrative. The truth is that if the SEC keeps winning the NC twice every three years the bias will continue.
  5. I guess there is always a bright side.😂
  6. This season, with new format, is just so new. We really don’t know 100% what will happen with the committee. I do believe that on average an SEC schedule is tougher, but not all SEC schedules are created equally in SOS. Missouri’s isn’t exactly as daunting as GA’s schedule for example. In the end, who knows what conference has the best team or teams? I believe, as someone stated above, that if you don’t finish in the top 3 or 4 of your conference, you’ve got not real grip about not making the Playoff. If GA had lost to TN or if they lose the SEC championship, I’ll be upset, but I will not be fussing about why they deserve a place in the Playoff. As far as SOS goes, you can only play the teams on your schedule. With 12 teams, I feel pretty confident that the best teams will be represented in the Playoff. Yes, I do think GA is one of the best teams in the country, when they play very well, they might be the most dominant team. And yes, if GA plays mediocre again and doesn’t make it, I’ll be bitter for a day or so knowing that my team probably has the potential to beat or at least give a game to any team in the Playoff. Yet ultimately, SOS be-dam, you gotta win. And those teams that aren’t as good as GA will be exposed by the best teams in the Playoff. Yes, I think GA was probably the best team in the country last year, and many think we got hosed. Perhaps we did, but it’s our own fault. We lost when we couldn’t afford to and it bit us in the a$$. Can’t complain too much, if you want to be the dominant team, you must dominate. Leave no DOUBT. If you do, it’s your own fault, or perhaps you’re just not as good as you thought. In the end, all of these factors like SOS and all of the other criteria that the committee will use is past much debate at this point. 12 teams will make it, if you’re not one of those teams, it’s highly likely that you certainly aren’t the best team in the nation anyway.
  7. I agree, they have an emerging leader in Lagway and they have talent. They will be trouble in the SEC next season.
  8. Yep, they ran for 110 in the first quarter. Not what I was expecting!
  9. I can’t disagree with you at all, your points are valid. Also, I hadn’t even thought of a team from the south having to play a game hosted by a team up north in the playoff. It’s going to be interesting. I really hope my Dawgs don’t wind up in that position. I can say from personal experience that it’s quite a shock for someone that grew up in the Deep South to face truly cold weather for the first time. I lived in Canada for years and that first winter was rough in the beginning. I did grow to love the cold weather, except for the ice storms! Ice storms are terrible.
  10. The Ole Miss at Florida game could be much better than expected. I hate to say it but Florida is much better than people think, and the game is in Gainesville. It wouldn’t surprise me if they upset the Rebels. Lagway is young but already a very good QB.
  11. This might not be popular, but the SEC has more good teams and it’s not close. I’m not saying the best team in the country is in the SEC, but playing an SEC schedule is tough. For some teams it’s very tough. How many of you folks think Penn St or Indiana would have only two losses if they played an SEC schedule?
  12. Fl is about to take down LSU. Lagway is gonna be a problem next season.
  13. Will the GA o-line play better? Will our young RBs know how to pick up Pressure? Like you said, will Beck have time? If Beck doesn’t have time will he turn it over multiple times? Which team can run the ball? Questions of the pre-game for me. If Beck has time, GA wins convincingly I think. If not the TN front 7 will wreak havoc. I agree that the GA D will likely have a strong game. I predict a lower scoring and very tough game. It’s hard to tell, but home field is a big advantage for us.
  14. Lol, so do I. Well, so long as they don’t knock out GA! It’s a big ask though. How good is Boise in the trenches?
  15. Hell, at this point I’m worried about playing GT.😂 They didn’t get lucky against Miami, they beat them. Brent Key is proving to be a good coach. On the House settlement, yeah looks like it’s happening. I’m not sure what the result there will be? Will the rich just get richer? Also, the firing of the OC and DC kinda tells the tale for Norvell and FSU.
  16. Agreed, playing a Big 12 schedule isn’t exactly like the SEC or the B1G, but it can get you in this Playoff. I must admit that I’m surprised and a bit impressed though. Is Prime’s heart really in coaching at the college level after his sons are done? Coaching CFB is a very involved job.
  17. That’s true, he does generate much money, and the Buffs have over performed this season I think. Who knows? Maybe you’re right. I’m still unsure about his coaching abilities, but I must admit he has been successful in every other thing he has done.
  18. Norvell’s buyout would be about 70 mil give or take if fired after the season. I very much doubt FSU does that.
  19. I agree with you. I’m assuming that GA dropped so much bc Ole Miss put the beat down on us. Our o-line looked abysmal and really the whole offense has looked suspect to say the least. Saturday will tell the tale. GA is still GA, with tons of talent, but we look very vulnerable right now. If we get the o-line fixed GA is likely the most dangerous team in the country, but if not, I doubt we make the Playoff. Beck needs time or he is a turnover machine, and teams are keying on all the quick screens, and our receivers lead the sec maybe the nation in drops. There is much to improve on and time will tell.
  20. I think that if Penn St. were to somehow dominate tOSU and win by 3 or 4 scores they might think of moving them to 1, but maybe not even then. I see the Ducks staying at 1 so long as they keep winning.
  21. I think this is a reasonable Top 10 at the moment. I’m surprisingly looking forward to some of the games this weekend. Some of the matchups are much more interesting than I was expecting. Most notably I’m really looking forward to Notre Dame at Navy. I’d love to see Navy take it to the Irish! Also, of coarse the Ducks game. LSU vs aTm, Mizzou vs Bama, Texas vs Vanderbilt, and several others could be interesting games. I’d like to include Nebraska vs tOSU, but I think that’s just wishful thinking.
  22. This is funny! My vote goes for them to just suffer the consequences.
  23. As far as GA going for it late in the fourth, I think I agree with you. I do understand Kirby’s thoughts, being that if you have a chance to make 1 yard to win the game you take it, but in this particular situation I’m inclined to agree with you bc of the way the GA defense was playing and also bc our punter has been very good. Texas was going to need help to win, so don’t take the chance of giving them a short field. Make it as hard as possible.
