  1. Oregon will never be a blue blood to those programs, just like the richest people in the world are considered “new money.” Who cares? Oregon is widely acknowledged as a top 5 college football program nationally by those in the know. Everyone knows Oregon football, we have one of the best head coaches in the game, we can and do recruit with anyone in the country (backed by an organized and strong NIL program), have world class facilities and are constantly competing for national championships. There are no guarantees but most people believe it’s just a matter of time before Oregon wins a national championship. What other college football programs would you trade places with right now?
  2. I agree with you about wearing yellow to show unity. The “lightning strikes” game against Michigan was the first time I remembered that happening and it looked amazing in person, on TV and in pictures. They were also selling cheap, non-branded “lightning strikes” T-shirts (~$10) for the game which probably helped. Unfortunately there are too many stubborn Duck fans (“I will wear what I want to wear.”). I completely disagree with your comment about the Penn State game. My wife and I could not understand why Duck fans would wear white. The “white out” was for the benefit and support of Penn State not Oregon, and our AD asked our fans to wear green. But I digress. If you are going to the game on Saturday please wear yellow. The bookstore and stores will probably sell yellow ponchos, if it is raining.
  3. Why should this be a concern? If they decide to transfer then have them wait until summer before joining their new program. Isn’t the college football playoffs more important for coaches and players?
  4. I don’t agree with this but believe that the number of times a student athlete can transfer should be limited. Some athletes hop from one program to another every single year. Perhaps the first time they get to transfer they are eligible immediately but subsequent transfers would require sitting out a year?
  5. I like the one transfer portal window but why not just move it until after the season concludes, so that it’s not a distraction or negative for those players playing in the post season?
  6. Maybe not #1 overall, but there are plenty of examples the other way too (Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck, Justin Herbert).
  7. I saw Neil Everett listed as a potential guest picker. He has been a great ambassador for the program and school.
  8. I was thinking the same thing before your article. If you take the name off the jersey, Indiana would be even ranked higher than they are based on how they are playing (on both sides of the ball) and their resume to date. They are not getting the benefit of the doubt that Oregon now receives, after decades of success. This is a really good football team we will be playing on Saturday and their coaching staff has done a tremendous job. Hope Autzen brings the noise on Saturday!
  9. Courtesy of Jon Joseph… Dante Moore to the New York Jets at #1? Is there a worse franchise in the NFL where top QB draft pick after top QB draft pick goes on to fail? Not even Aaron Rodgers could succeed there. https://athlonsports.com/nfl/2026-nfl-mock-draft-updated-1st-round-ty-simpson-dante-moore-fernando-mendoza-lanorris-sellers
  10. The Browns did DG no favors by also drafting Sanders. It’s a complete circus in Cleveland. There is a reason that they are always drafting in the top 5. Clown show.
  11. I can’t recall if it was Jonathan Stewart or Kenjon Barner (both know a thing or two about the position), who said that Dierre Hill, Jr. was the best running back on the field after the Penn State game and he deserves more touches. I’m also really high on Davison. Some fans are focusing on his yards per carries, which are artificially lower because he is being used in short yardage and goaline situations. He is more than capable of gashing a defense all day long.
  12. Indiana’s OC Mike Shanahan should be on Coach Lanning’s shortlist of potential replacements for Coach Stein. I believe that he runs a RPO offense and has put up a lot of points the last couple of seasons. I wouldn’t necessarily judge his offense against Oregon’s defense.

  15. LOL. There are Penn State fans asking the same thing about Coach Franklin.
  16. LOL. I thought UCLA went up to the student section before the game and asked if anyone (all 10 of them) wanted to call plays for them today. This is the only dude who raised his hand.
  17. Don’t forget to add Mike Riley and Oregon State’s HC names to the list. LOL.
  18. Through the first 4 games, UCLA scored 57 points, total (14.3 PPG). Against Penn State, UCLA scored 42 points.
  19. I only watched the end of the game but cannot believe that Penn State let UCLA’s QB beat them with his legs. You would think that they would have put a spy on him or tried to contain him within the pocket. Knowles should have loaded the box and made UCLA beat them through the air. I was perplexed at the game plan. LOL. Penn State’s very highly compensated coaching staff got outmatched by a team with no coaching staff.
  20. The announcers said it’s been something like 40 years.
  21. I think Coach Lanning would be the first to give credit to the offensive coordinators and the players. But Coach Lanning has done an unbelievable job of finding great coordinators (specifically OCs) and letting them run their systems. Unlike a lot of defensive minded HCs, DL has not muddled or asked them to play a ball control style. He also surrounds them with great players - OL, TE, RB, WR - so the QB doesn’t have to do everything themselves. Coach Stein is an elite OC and will be a head coach soon, if that is what he wants.

  23. The LA schools have become Oregon feeder schools. 😂
  24. Abdul Carter, Tyler Warren forced to wear Oregon gear after lost bets to Pro Ducks “Each and every year, we end up seeing some of these players, former college stars, end up wearing the clothing of some of their most hated rivals, thanks to lost bets on Saturday afternoons. This week, it was both New York Giants star Abdul Carter and Indianapolis Colts star Tyler Warren — both rookies who played for the Penn State Nittany Lions a year ago — who were made to wear Oregon Ducks gear for their media availabilities on Wednesday.” Buckner: “You look good. You should’ve been a Duck.” https://sports.yahoo.com/article/abdul-carter-tyler-warren-forced-122737621.html
