  1. Perhaps a bit too slow… Coach Stein is a very good OC but he is young and learning on the job (as are most of Oregon’s assistants). I’ll be interested to see how he is at developing QBs. Glad Coach Stein didn’t leave for a conference rival and believe it’s a good decision because he will be offered a HC job sooner rather than later, if that is his goal (look at the long history of Oregon OCs who have become successful HCs). However, I do not believe that Coach Stein is irreplaceable. Hopefully Coach Lanning is keeping that notebook with coaches updated because it’s probably just a matter of time.
  2. Marcus would be a good insurance policy for the Raiders. They could select the best available QB at #6 and then, if they are not ready, Marcus could be the starting QB early in the season. He has shown that he is capable of winning games on a good team.
  3. I’m shocked that Royce didn’t have a more productive NFL career. He had all of the attributes you’d look for in an NFL running back.
  4. I mentioned Onterrio. Dude was special and deserves to be on any list of top Oregon running backs. He signed with the National Champions Tennessee out of high school and then transferred to Oregon.
  5. Sorry for the confusion. My list above wasn’t a ranking. The running back that I would select would be based on the offense I ran. LMJ would probably not be the best fit for a traditional pro style offense (look at his NFL career). Just like Droughns wouldn’t be the best fit for a spread-option offense. If we were looking for the most balanced running back, I’d probably go with J-Stew, Onterrio Smith or Bobby Moore. However, I don’t know how I’d choose one over the others as they all have different strengths. Maybe you give the edge to J-Stew or Bobby Moore because they had the best NFL careers?
  6. Oregon had been blessed with so many great running backs over the years (Gary Campbell was a great coach): Bucky Irving LaMichael James Barner DAT Royce Freeman Jonathan Stewart Onterrio Smith Ruben Droughns Derek Loville Bobby Moore … LMJ is the all time statistical rushing leader but I’m not sure he is the “best.”
  7. I wonder if we are going to see more turn over at the non-football coaching positions at the West Coast schools, as a result of the increased travel. If you could make just as much (or more) at another school and don’t have to travel…Cronin is barking up the wrong tree and should be complaining to the UCLA administration instead. They are the ones who blew up the PAC for $$$.
  8. Dante Moore throws a beautiful ball. However, IMHO, he does not have the arm strength of Justin Herbert (very few QBs do). You’re spot on, his (and Oregon’s) success will come down to his familiarity with the offense and decision making. I think Oregon fans should temper their expectations until we see how Dante plays against good teams. We should not expect him to step in and be as good as 5th/6th year QBs.
  9. I believe that the layoff is part of the story. All four top seeded playoff teams with the extra break, lost in the second round. Tennessee had just as long off as Ohio State so there was no advantage in that first round. Ohio State has the better athletes (across the board), better / more experienced coordinators and position coaches who out-schemed Oregon's and players who had a chip on their shoulder having lost the first game in Eugene, losing to their arch rival (again) and listening to how their coach was going to get fired. It was the perfect storm and Oregon was not prepared / dialed in.
  10. CK was like a fad. Once teams learned how to defend his offense, it became obsolete. I don’t see any top teams running the spread-option offense. In contrast, Bill Walsh revolutionized the game of football with his West Coast Offense concepts that are still used today at every level of football.
  11. Or what happened with the turd your offense laid against your arch rival who has absolutely owned you recently? How do you explain that one away?
  12. Belichick has only won with Tom Brady as his QB. Brady left NE and won a championship with TB. He’s a good coach but was he or Tom Brady more responsible for NE’s success? Unfortunately for Belichick, Tom Brady is out of college eligibility and will not be suiting up for UNC.
  13. What an a$$hole! Hey Chip - You’re right where you belong, as an OC, because you failed EVERYWHERE you’ve been, except at Oregon. Oregon made you, not the other way around! Both Philly and the Niners have competed for/won championships before and after you were there. You’ve left UCLA football in such a mess with your refusal to recruit, the program might never recover.
  14. Oregon’s defense feasted on bad B1G offenses. Look at the run defense and YPC against BSU, Penn State and Ohio State. Not good.
  15. I can’t blame Coach Prime for asking for more NIL money but there is no way that Colorado can match the $15M per year salary people are speculating.
  16. LOL. You must have enjoyed this as much as Oregon fans did. FSU fans were amongst the most arrogant/smug fans I have encountered.
  17. This is fun…thanks for sharing! I’d build my team around Pritchard ($3) and Brooks ($3), who were both clutch ballers, so give me Dante ($1), Evans ($1) and Young ($2) to fill out my roster. I love Bell but think he’s overpriced at $3. (I don’t follow basketball as much as some on here so looking forward to hearing others’ thoughts.)
  18. LOL. How did Oregon finish 3rd in their 2024 B1G power rankings behind Ohio State and Penn State? I can understand being #2 behind Ohio State but did the author not watch the B1G Championship Game?
  19. Caldwell could have used another year to improve his draft stock, IMHO, but I can’t fault someone for wanting to pursue their career and dream. I wish him the best of luck. Once a Duck, always a Duck!
  20. LOL. Ngata was asked by a reporter, in college, if there were times that he was not double teamed. He paused briefly and said yes, when I’m being tripled teamed. He was a force in both college and the NFL. I’m sure you can find quotes from Ray Lewis about how important Ngata was to that championship defense. Well deserved and way overdue. Hope Ngata returns to Autzen to be celebrated this upcoming season (might be a good time to have some of those big DT recruits on hand!).
  21. Thanks for sharing. I’m not sure if this is good news. The linebackers and safeties were the biggest weakness with Oregon’s defense this past year, IMHO. I still have nightmares about Ohio State’s receivers running free all over the field in the Rose Bowl. I was hoping that the younger guys would step up or we could upgrade in the portal.
  22. Sounds like a coach that is extremely frustrated with his team. Not sure it helps going to the media though. (How did UCLA beat Oregon?!)
  23. LOL. The Oregon AD should hire Cam to advise and apply for redshirts/medical waivers. Perhaps N’Faly Dante’s would have been approved!
  24. This is a huge pickup! According to Duckwire, Oregon’s 2025 starting OL could be: LT: Isaiah World (transfer from Nevada) LG: Emmanuel Pregnon (transfer from USC) Cen: Lapani Laloulu (returning starter) RG: Matthew Bedford (previous transfer from Indiana; medical waiver?) RT: Alex Harkey (transfer from Texas State) I just hope that we can get back to primarily recruiting and developing offensive linemen (vs. relying on transfers). Currently, 4 out of the 5 projected starters will be transfers. How addition of Emmanuel Pregnon impacts Oregon Ducks offensive line DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks added former USC Trojans left guard Emmanuel Pregnon from the transfer portal...
  25. That’s a strange final 3 for such a high profile recruit.
