  1. Man, I hope that Oregon gets to be the first real team that Miami plays this year in the College Football Playoffs!
  2. I was concerned that the Chip Kelly years might have been the high water mark for the program. It's crazy that Coach Lanning has matched and has the chance to surpass what Coach Kelly achieved at Oregon by winning a National Championship. CK brought us to the verge but didn't have the talent, especially on the offensive and defensive lines. Coach Lanning continues to bring in the talent to compete with the Georgia's, Alabama's and Ohio State's. The future is bright in Eugene, Oregon!
  3. In an interview, earlier in the season, Coach Lanning said that he wanted the team peaking around Thanksgiving. Props to the coaches and players because they appear to be on that trajectory. Teams that win a tournament aren't always the best team but they are playing the best at that point in the season (e.g., the 2008 New York Giants won the Super Bowl as a Wild Card). Once you get in the dance, anything can happen...
  4. Seems like more and more college football coaches are falling in love with going for it on 4th and short, regardless of the game situation.
  5. Don’t understand why Vandy went for the 4th down deep in their own territory. Still plenty of time left and their defense has been playing good.
  6. 0 Start Dante Moore in the second half .
  7. Maybe Oregon's backups will get some meaningful playing time in the second half. It would be nice to see Dante Moore being able to run the offense.
  8. Whittingham is having an amazing game. Running over defenders. Great to see him playing so well! (Maybe he read my post about not being 100% since the injury...)
  9. Holy smokes. Running like Jordan James!!!!
  10. I think they thought the runner was down. The B1G refs should have let the play continue and then the replay official can confirm if the knee was down. Need better training.
  11. This game has me wondering how good Ohio State is and, therefore, how impressive Oregon’s victory was a couple of weeks ago. The Buckeyes defense is good (though their CBs are still having issues in coverage) but the offense does not look good.
  12. Former Oregon Duck RB Dante Dowdell scored the go ahead TD for Nebraska.
  13. Some boos in Columbus after the 3rd and short run was stuffed by Nebraska.
  14. Ohio State is only up 8 on an unranked Nebraska team at home. The locals must be getting restless in Columbus, Ohio. LOL.
  15. Talks about playing to a standard every single play. Wonder where Coach Lanning got that? Good interview. Thanks for sharing.
  16. ON3: Oregon, UGA, Alabama Jump Out Early for ELITE 2026 Recruits | Intel on Zion Elee, Jared Curtis, MORE Oregon listed as early favorites for 247's #1 and #3 overall recruits in the 2026 class
  17. Charles, you make a great point about the sheer volume of starters that Oregon will be losing after this season. As others mentioned, I wonder if other programs are expected to experience the same, given the extra year of eligibility for Covid will be ending? Another question that this raises is - how good are Coach Lanning and coaching staff at developing players? Most of the transfers came in as nearly finished products, IMO, but I believe we’ve seen some improvement with some of the key additions (e.g., Bo Nix, Jordan Burch). What about high school signees?
  18. I agree and I’m also pulling for Boise State to run the table. So, looking ahead, assuming that both Ohio State and Penn State win, who will you be pulling for in their matchup? Is it better to have an undefeated Penn State or two one-loss B1G teams. I would be surprised if a two loss Ohio State misses the college football playoffs.
  19. It might be because Ohio State had to cancel the prior scheduled game to Eugene due to the shortened COVID season. OBD is playing at Michigan this season.
  20. I’ll be pulling for Penn State as a matchup of undefeated Oregon vs. an undefeated Penn State would be a more interesting B1G title game. I also like Oregon’s chances in that game over a rematch with Ohio State…
  21. Talkin' Ducks FULL episode - Can Oregon stay atop the polls, and how big of a threat is Illinois?
  22. Maybe USC will look to join the SEC for more $$$$ so that they can buyout Coach Riley... (The SEC would gain access to the LA market and another bottom dweller with a strong brand)
  23. Are they selling out the new, improved and expanded Reser Stadium, yet (when it's not filled by Duck fans)?
  24. The author doesn't give enough credit to Oregon's offensive line, IMO, who is playing great right now and not giving up sacks to anyone. The strength of Oregon's offensive line is the tackles so it's not surprising that Ohio State's ends didn't have much success in the game. Guess what...Oregon has future NFL players too! You are not playing Maryland, Rutgers, Northwestern, et al. I do think that Ohio State was arrogant. They thought that their CBs could cover Oregon's WRs and that the front 4 could get pressure on DG without blitzing. I'm guessing that if the two teams play again that Ohio State would have a completely different game plan.
