Alabama just had to keep the SEC Championship Game close and they would have been in the playoff, IMO. They even failed to do that and should be out.

Well they picked the wrong game. The B1G conference championship was a fantastic game and both should still be ranked #1 and #2. Bama should be out. If the results of these championship games don’t matter, why play them?

Indiana’s D-line is really good and I love how they disguise coverages/pressures.

Perhaps not with this pressure. We saw how Oregon’s offense performed against Indiana. Georgia and Ohio State’s defenses are significantly better than Indiana’s, IMO.

We’ll see how Dante Moore and the other QBs fare against this Georgia defense.

Georgia, particularly its defense, is dominating this game, thus far. They are getting a lot of pressure on the Bama QB and he is clearly uncomfortable.

Top SEC defenses just look different to me, especially on the front 7. They are BIG and athletic.

I am rooting for Georgia to win big, as I want to see what the playoff committee then does with Alabama and how they justify them over a number of very good 2 loss teams. Thoughts?

Is a long playoff run (or more teams in the playoff) worth more $$$ to the conferences than a conference championship game?

I’m rooting for Tech. I don’t want a bye given the extended layoff.

I didn’t bother watching the SEC infomercial. What was their alternative? How many times did they say Alabama should be in regardless of the championship game outcome? Texas? Vandy?

I really hope this doesn’t happen but…What would happen if there were a season ending injury to a key player in the B1G or SEC Championship Games? Would that conference finally move to end the conference championship game?

They are having some success running right at them right now. Not so much on pass pro. Texas Tech’s second level defenders look fast but a bit undersized. If you can find a way to neutralize Texas Tech’s d-line, you’d have to like the matchups.

It really bothers me that wide receiver push offs are mostly ignored. Offenses have all the advantages in today’s game. No reason to give them another.

I agree that BYU has more to play for and I’m looking at the players, schemes and potential matchups. Texas Tech has some good players but no one that has wowed me. Their QB is mediocre.

BYU 7, Texas Tech 0 BYU’s defense got a stop and their offense marched right down the field.

It’s early but I’d prefer to play Texas Tech over any of the other currently ranked top 4 teams. They are a good team but nothing special, IMO. Their QB may be the worst of any of the playoff teams (ranks #29 in QBR) and Texas Tech’s SOS is ranked 59. They may be a paper tiger.

Campbell has had some good seasons and some mediocre seasons. His head coaching record is more inconsistent than the guy Penn State just ran out of town. This year his team finished 8-4. That’s not bad but will probably put you on the bubble at Penn State. His 4-8 record in 2022 (his 7th season at ISU) will get you fired. I don’t see how this is an upgrade over James Franklin. And some people just don’t have “it” or are not good at certain things. Hope he does well, if the rumors are true, but this is a huge and unnecessary risk for the program, IMO. Oregon has a golden window to win the national championship in the next couple of years and we’ll need the best coaches possible to pair with the extremely talented players. Our young coaches have been out-coached in a couple of games (e.g., Ohio State in the playoffs, Indiana this year).

I didn’t realize that Evan Stewart had another year. I’m assuming if he played in the playoffs, he wouldn’t jeopardize his eligibility for next year?
