Oregon's Rush Defense? "Really Bad!" Or Go Head and Run, We'll Beat You Anyway.
Oregon has played 3 playoff teams and gave up 30+ points in each of those games (special teams won the Boise State game, we were fortunate that Ohio State's QB lost track of time at the end of the game because they were moving the ball on our defense and Oregon's secondary made a nice play, on a bad QB decision, to seal the Penn State game but we were fortunate that Oregon's offense was rolling). We are going to need DG and our offense clicking to win a national championship. I was hoping that Oregon could rely its defense by now to win big games, against quality opponents. (We played in a mediocre offensive conference this year so the national defensive statistics do not tell the whole story. It's also why Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State's defensive statistics are perpetually misleading.)

Great Article: Dillon Gabriel is Not Done!
Coach Lanning: "This team believes in him. They're grateful every day that they get to step on the field with him. He's about connection and people first. But the poise that he shows in big games is unmeasured. I haven't been around players like Dillon. I'm really grateful I get to share the field with him....When the moment's the biggest, that's when Dillon is the most stoic and level-set for those moments. I think that's when he's calmest." Tez Johnson: "Those big games, we still don't know how in those big games he finds a way to separate himself. It's something he got in his veins that we cannot pinpoint. No lights get too big for him" T-Ferg: "I've watched his tape before at Oklahoma and UCF. He always shows up in big games. Just knowing him in the offseason and how much work he puts in, I already knew that's what he was going to do. He rises to the competition. He's going to play his best ball against the best teams." ================= If Oregon wins the National Championship this season, I believe that it'll be because of Dillon Gabriel. The dude is just clutch. We are so lucky that he is in an Oregon uniform.

Offensive PI By Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith: Ever Watch a Bull Frog?
Good analysis but makes me wonder why Reed was covering Smith, instead of Oregon's best cover corner - Jabbar Muhammad.

Tez Johnson on Dante Moore. "He's So Ready to Play"
Dante Moore throws a beautiful ball but his issue last season was his decision making. Hopefully he learned a lot this year from Coach Stein, by watching DG prepare and play and getting reps against Oregon’s defense. I’m optimistic that he could be a special QB for Oregon over the next 2-3 seasons. He reminds me of Darren Thomas but with a better arm. If he can put up DT stats and wins, I think we’ll all be very happy. DT is the most under appreciated Oregon QB of all time. He went 24-3 as a starter, with 2 conference championships, and came within 3 points of winning Oregon a national championship.

Oregon's Rush Defense? "Really Bad!" Or Go Head and Run, We'll Beat You Anyway.
Oregon’s run defense is not good, which is puzzling. A coach broke down the Penn State game and Oregon’s “run fits” were terrible. We have two terrific defensive tackles but our linebackers and safeties were out of position or took terrible angles to the ball carrier. I just don’t think that we have the linebacker talent that those great Georgia or Alabama defenses had. Even past Oregon teams had better linebacking units.

Ward Sets Record Then Opts Out and Watches as 'Canes Get Frosted
Ward shouldn’t have played at all, including bowl practices, if he was worried about getting injured. College football is not the same as it used to be - Cam Ward was getting $1M+ to play for Miami this season (is NIL only good for the regular season?) and I’m sure he had NFL Draft insurance, in case of injury. It’s time to realize that most of these players are no longer “student athletes” playing for a scholarship. They are semi-pro athletes and the expectations should be as such.

Uniform Reveal for Rose Bowl!
Or should we work with the Jordan team to come out in these beauty's in the Rose Bowl? Ohio State's hearts would sink and they would lose the game before the opening kick...

Uniform Reveal for Rose Bowl!
So, are you saying that Oregon should go pant-less during the Rose Bowl? Not sure how that would play on TV....

Uniform Reveal for Rose Bowl!
Not a fan. Don't like the white pants. I would have chosen the DAT Rose Bowl uniforms (or green jerseys and pants w/ chrome helmets).

Ward Sets Record Then Opts Out and Watches as 'Canes Get Frosted
LOL. It would have been funny if he tore open a box and started shoveling them in his mouth during the press conference.

Well, if your a Miami fan, Ward might be the only other fan in the stands.

Ward Sets Record Then Opts Out and Watches as 'Canes Get Frosted
That’s not a good look. Either declare for the NFL draft before the post season practices begin or finish the job. So glad that Oregon got DG over Ward. Bo Nix and Justin Herbert finished the job for their teammates. P.S. - If I were the HC, I would not want that player back on my sideline. You quit on your team. Take a shower and watch the game from the stands with the rest of the fans and alumni.

USC Beats Texas A&M 35-31
Maybe USC should have joined the SEC. They would have enjoyed more success! They could be one of the 3-loss SEC teams complaining that they should have been included in the playoffs. Everyone out West knows how much USC loves their “whine”!

USC Beats Texas A&M 35-31
The B1G is 3-2 in bowl games, as of today, with victories by Ohio State, Penn State and USC, and loses by Indiana and Rutgers. Rutgers making a bowl game at 6-6 is proof that there are too many bowl games. Also, how does the 12th ranked B1G team (USC) end up matched up against the 6th ranked team in the SEC?

USC Beats Texas A&M 35-31
Yikes. And A&M was a contender for the SEC title until very late in the season…

Would Mariota Make Oregon Unbeatable?
I love Mariota but DG is more proven in big games than any other QB in program history, and has come through every single time for Oregon. He’s beaten Ohio State, Penn State and Texas (last year), and has Oregon undefeated and the unanimous #1 team in college football. Like we discussed on a thread a few weeks ago, there are QBs with stronger arms, faster 40 times and better stats but DG is a winner. DG is like Montana, Brady and Mahomes in college. Marino, Peyton Manning and Lamar Jackson might put up better stats but who would you rather have as your QB in the Super Bowl?

Ohio State is Favored Why, Exactly?
This. I read an article prior to the first round of the playoffs, and Oregon was favored over both Tennessee and Ohio State. The Ohio State spread was a little closer than the Tennessee spread. What happened?! Ohio State looked dominant beating a mediocre Tennessee team at home and now they are the favorites? It’s all good. I’d rather be the underdog. Not that Coach Lanning would use that to fire up his team…

Official Oregon Anxiety Period Begins...
I would amend your statement, as follows: “If Oregon is the better team [on January 1st], they will win.” The tough thing about sudden death is that the “best” team doesn’t always win. Just the team who plays the best / makes the fewest mistakes, on that particular day. I believe that Oregon and Ohio State are pretty evenly matched. That is what makes me nervous.

Time to Unleash Oregon’s Upside for the Playoff!
Great post! However, given the different styles of play between the two teams, Oregon might have the advantage in a high scoring game or if we can get off to a fast start, forcing Ohio State to become one dimensional. Most people would pick DG and Oregon’s offense over Will Howard and the Buckeyes’. I’m sure that Ohio State would prefer a lower scoring, close game.
