LOL. What Coach joined Jim Harbaugh in voting Michigan #1?
-
I also prefer the 12:30pm PT kickoff slot but the slightly later time gives fans, especially students, more time for pre-game beverages..

Not sure if Coach Dillingham would be more interested in an NFL OC or college HC but the consideration speaks volume for the job he is doing in Eugene. Oregon’s offense is fun again and that is due to Dillingham and Bo Nix. I am enjoying every minute of it. Personally, I hope that Dillingham and Nix come back to Eugene for “ONE MORE YEAR.” But, if not, hopefully Lanning has some potential OCs in his notebook.

It’s all about the atmosphere, not how many people are sitting in the stands. “I think Autzen Stadium. Per person, the Oregon stadium is the loudest stadium I’ve ever been in.” - — Lee Corso, ESPN GameDay.

Subscription required. Can someone please summarize what the recruits had to say?
-
Perhaps these fit into your list but I would assume that gameday atmosphere (#3?) and track record of sending players at your position to the NFL (#1?) would also matter to recruits.

They do realize that USC is leaving the conference?
-
What happened to USC’s wide receiver?
-
USC’s QB has really poor body language when he faces adversity. I noticed it in the Oregon State game, as well.

This is a really tough question. I don’t think it’s ever okay to call current players or coaches derogatory names/nicknames or comment about personal beliefs/issues/looks. My preference would be that this would be extended to former players, coaches and opposing teams because I personally don’t believe that this behavior represents the University of Oregon well, and as you mentioned player’s and potential recruit’s families and friends read these message boards. I wouldn’t be surprised if players themselves looked from time to time, although I would advise them to avoid all media/social sites. Criticism of a play or call seems like it should be allowed, as long as it’s professional and not personal. I prefer to leave out a player’s name or number, when possible, because they are young adults trying their best. No one should be more upset about a mistake or bad play, as the player themselves. The coaches should be reviewing game tape with the players and teaching them from their mistakes. Just my take.

The announcers mentioned that Gonzales was matching up against Arizona’s best receiver, even if he lined up in the slot and that Gonzales was working on that this past week. Oregon sure got a great cover corner in the portal.
-
Manning has looked good too. Time to play the young corners opposite Gonzales.

I hope Florence gets more playing time. I’m not a big fan of one of Oregon’s starting CBs and think he would be better off at safety. He’s big and a really good tackler but is completely lost in pass coverage. Florence flashed his potential in pass coverage and looked fast. Hope he learns as much as he can from Gonzales this year.

Some players look amazing in practice and then there are gamers. I’d like to see what Butterfield can do because he looked good in the spring game. He deserves a shot and I’d be bummed to see him transfer from Oregon without seeing what he could do on the field. I’ve never been a fan of the other QB. He has a strong arm but he looks like a deer in the headlights come game-time and makes questionable decision and questionable decision.

I completely agree that Mario deserves a ton of credit for recruiting and developing the O-line. It’s one of his strengths. Hopefully our current staff can keep up the recruiting on both lines, as that is how championship teams are built.

Oregon's Bo Nix is Getting Heisman Buzz After Fifth Straight Win

Bo Nix has another season of eligibility due to the COVID year. I hope he comes back to Oregon for one more year. -
Mario Attempts to Attend Spencer Webb's Memorial
OregonDucks replied to 47sgs's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Very classy of Mario. Too bad his flight was canceled and he couldn’t attend. It’s time for Oregon fans to move on. Mario got the opportunity to coach at his alma mater, where he won 2 national championships. I can’t fault someone for chasing their dreams and doing what they think is best for them and their family. By all accounts, he worked extremely hard while at Oregon, and left the cup board full for our new coaching staff. I wish him well at Miami except when recruiting head to head against Oregon. -

Can QB Development Improve Under Dillingham?
OregonDucks replied to Smith72's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
“One of the biggest weak spots for the Oregon Ducks over the past couple of decades has been the ability to recruit and develop quarterbacks in the system.” Perhaps it’s a typo but Oregon has a history of developing some pretty dang good QBs under Bellotti and Chip. Hopefully, Oregon can get back to that and bring back the exciting offense to go along with one of the most dominant defenses in college football! -
Canzano: Here's Hoping the Rose Bowl Makes It
OregonDucks replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
What is the appetite of the Pac to have anything to do with the B1G after they poached the LA schools and tried to kill the conference? I'm sure that all of the other conferences would be very interested in the Rose Bowl... -
On July 21 UC Board of Regents to Discuss UCLA's Move to Big Ten
OregonDucks replied to Annie's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
LOL. And if/when the LA schools leave the PAC-12, the remaining 10 schools will need to cut sports, including UCLA’s sister school Berkeley.
