  3. Agree! Did these people forget Economics 101 or Math 101? There is no way CU will be getting $31.7M or any other Big 12 school if they keep adding more schools. Unless Fox and ESPN are willing to increase the amount to accommodate any new school joining the conference to keep the level at $31.7M per school, CU joining the Big 12 would drop it down to $29.26M per school. If Arizona joins it drops down to 27.17M. If ASU joins drops down to $25.36M. If Utah joins drops it down to $23.78M per school per year. Like you said, I can't imagine any of the Pac-12 universities migrating to the Big 12 are willing to take a lesser share. An extra $190.2M per school who joins the Big 12 for the life of the contract? Good luck with that. From Wilner: "If the Pac-12 media deal is in the low $20 millions per school, as has been speculated, would Colorado and Arizona going to the Big 12 be the best thing? Then add four Group of Five schools at half shares? — @bogeycat85 Do not believe the speculation about a $20 million offer. The Hotline doesn’t know where the Pac-12’s valuation will land — our guess is within 10 percent of the Big 12, which will earn $31.7 million per school when the renewal of its deal with Fox and ESPN kicks in. But $20 million per school? No chance. That’s below the current average annual valuation of $20.8 million for a deal signed 12 years ago. Even if you account for the loss of the L.A. schools, the market for live sports has soared since 2011. The Big 12 lost Texas and Oklahoma and saw a 50 percent increase (approximately) in its media valuation. The Pac-12 isn’t losing USC and UCLA and also losing 10 percent of its valuation — not with so many of the top 30 media markets in its footprint. My understanding is that the Big 12’s media contract does not increase by $31.7 million per school if additional members are added. Do potential candidates know what revenue they will receive if they join the Big 12? — @Jalex0077 Endeavor, a media advisory company, is working on behalf of the Big 12 to lure Pac-12 universities, according to every source in our Rolodex. Exactly what Endeavor has told the likes of Colorado and Arizona, we cannot say. However, the money would come from ESPN and potentially Fox as part of a negotiation with the Big 12. But the Four Corners schools would need more than promises and hypotheticals. They would need contract offers." I just don't see the advantage going to the Big 12.

  9. Oregon is heading into June as one of the hottest teams on the recruiting trail. The month of May saw Dan Lanning and the Ducks land four verbal commitments and shoot up to No. 6 in the national recruiting rankings for the 2024 class. Now the staff is preparing to host commits and top targets on official visits in June, as they make a strong push to add more premier talent to the fold. Here's a glance at who's expected in Eugene throughout June for their official visits. June 23 is without a doubt the biggest weekend of official visitors, as the Ducks will host their most commits, which will help them recruit their top targets. Another note is that the Ducks are having their quarterback commits, Luke Moga and Michael Van Buren visit on different weekends. This is a plus because it will give them two big recruiters for each respective weekend, and as we know quarterbacks oftentimes serve as the face of a class. Having two gives them even more ammo on the recruiting trail with some of the best players in the country expected in town. 14. 5 Pac-12 takeaways from shocking NCAA Baseball Tournament reveal First reaction: What?!? Second reaction: Yikes. Third reaction: I guess the Pac-12 Tournament matters a whole lot more than we thought. The NCAA Baseball Tournament reveal on Monday was nothing short of a shocker for Pac-12 baseball fans, particularly the fans of Arizona, Arizona State and USC. Arizona, which went just 12-18 in Pac-12 play yet advanced to the conference tournament title game with a 14-4, run-rule victory over Stanford on Friday, is in. Arizona State, which went 16-13 in conference play and swept Arizona this season, is out. USC, which finished with a better record than either — 34-23-1 overall and 17-13 in league play — is also out. All three of those facts were stunning in and of themselves. Combined, and added to the fact that other west coast hopefuls like UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara were left out, makes one wonder if anyone on the selection committee lives west of the Mississippi. Those are the big stunners. Stanford getting the No. 8 overall seed despite a loss in the conference title game and a No. 15 RPI and Oregon getting a 2-seed while Washington got a 3 — those are smaller surprises. Overall, it was one weird reveal. More than half those players were on campus for spring, and few received more praise than Gardner. Senior teammate Casey Rogers referred to the Arizona native as "one of the most advanced freshman" he'd seen technically, and praised his efforts to pick up the scheme. Some of that showed up in the spring game, when Gardner was credited with one tackle and a pass breakup.
