If the other 4 conferences have undefeated champions, then yeah the PAC 12 would miss out. I would like to think the PAC 12 champ had played a harder schedule than the ACC or the Big 12, but the committee will look at the L column and see a 1, where as the others will have a 0. However, 4 conferences having an undefeated record has not happened during the CFP existence. We haven't even played half a season yet. Way too much football left to play.

Yes, UCLA still has to pay CAL. It will likely be 10 mil a year.

Every school would accept an uncle Phil. Parker stadium sold the naming rights in 1999 to Reser Stadium for 5 million for 10 years. OSU got another 7.5 million when they continued the contract until 2024. OSU got an anonymous donation of 50 million to help reach 150 million to renovate the stadium. Sports aren't free.

According to Title 9, the scholarships have to be proportional to the percentage of students at the University. The most recent statistics I could find were, 45% male and 55% female at the University of Oregon. If the men have 131.3, then there should be a total of 292 scholarships available at the University of Oregon. 292-131.3 = 160.7. The women are short 47.7 scholarships. I'm not sure how the articles finds 94, unless Oregon isn't offering the max allowed per women's sports. Also, the Universities don't need to have any support for club sports, so I'm not sure why/how rowing is trying to sue the University of Oregon. Male 45% Female 55% Baseball 11.7 Acrobatics & Tumbling 14 Basketball 13 Basketball 15 Cross Country/Track & Field 12.6 Cross Country/Track & Field 20 Football 85 Golf 6 Golf 4.5 Lacrosse 12 Tennis 4.5 Soccer 14 131.3 Softball 12 Tennis 8 Volleyball 12 113 Beach Volleyball 8 Being short 47.7 isn't a minor amount.

Could OSU and WSU Split $320 Million Next Season?
Tandaian replied to kirklandduck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The CFP can't break the contract that exists thru 2024. They can't randomly change their minds about a conference. CFP isn't bound by the NCAA, but they are bound by the contract they signed. That is a nice little loophole they found. -
We will always wonder how this would have played out if this season happened 2 years earlier.

Bill Connelly. ESPN+, Ranks the Week 4 Power 5 Undefeated Teams

It is strength of schedule is of games played to date, not for the season. All the PAC 12 teams SOS will get better as they play each other. -
Surgery will end Tyler Shough's regular season at Texas Tech - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Texas Tech quarterback Tyler Shough is scheduled to have surgery Tuesday on a broken left fibula that could keep him out for the rest of the regular season after suffering the injury in a loss at West... I'll rephrase, Shedeur doesn't run the ball. ESPN has Shedeur with 25 rushes. He has been sacked 15 times, which counts as a rush. Shedeur only has 10 rushes. For comparison, Shough has 44 carries with 9 sacks.
-
Shedeur is better the Shough. Shedeur doesn't have designed runs like Shough does. Ducks will have to contain Shedeur and his scrambling ability. It is easy to know when people are talking about Shedeur Sanders because that is the only Shedeur people have heard of. Same with Deion. There was really only one player named Deion when he played in the NFL.

Oregon Beats Up on Bad Teams Again

I went to Fleetwood's restaurant in December 2022. Best food I had in Hawaii. Lahaina was a cozy little town. When they rebuild, I hope they plan it better. It was poorly designed for car traffic. -

Tough Decisions for Wilner and Canzano...and Us?
Tandaian replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
An interesting dilemma. I would expect the state of Oregon to be 70/30 towards the Ducks, but maybe it is 50/50 and Canzano will have to split his time. However, other than some times talking to a PSU coach, he doesn't bother with lesser universities. P4 > G6. -
Oregon-Colorado Game Time and Broadcast Scheduled
Tandaian replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
No shot Colorado is favored over Oregon. If the line is -3, then Vegas thinks it would be a toss up on a neutral field. Colorado has completely out performed what I thought they would do, but TCU is not TCU from last year and Nebraska is straight up terrible. I expect the line to open around -7 for the Ducks, then get bet down because everybody will be betting Colorado. Colorado is going to get humbled by Oregon and USC in weeks 4 and 5. -
2024 Football Recruits...Announcements, Updates (No.5)
Tandaian replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
We're just about three months away from the early signing period in December and while the Oregon Ducks boast the nation's No. 12 recruiting class, the coaching staff is still working relentlessly to land some of the nation's top players--committed or uncommitted. We've seen recent developments on the recruiting trail with top Oregon targets like Aydin Breland and Brandon Baker, but it looks like we have a new name to track this week. Oregon has entered the mix for five-star (0.9961 per 247Sports Composite) Temple (Tex.) Lake Belton wide receiver Micah Hudson, according to Sam Spiegelman of On3 Sports. Hudson is the No. 2-ranked wide receiver in the 2024 class. 2024 Football Recruits...Announcements, Updates (No.5)
Tandaian replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
When discussing 2024 Oregon Ducks quarterback commit Michael Van Buren, there's one thing we can say with absolute 100% confidence. By the time he gets to Eugene in January to enroll with the Ducks, he's going to be battle-tested. Van Buren and the St. Frances Academy Panthers may still be searching for their first win this season entering week 5, but it's certainly not for a lack of talent. Their schedule has taken them all across the country and pinned them against many of the nation's premier programs. The PAC created precedence when they told USC and UCLA they don't get any say in how the PAC moves forward once they said they were leaving. If USC and UCLA don't get a say, then the rest of the teams that are leaving don't get a say. However, the collective we don't know all the financials of the PAC. Yes, there is March Madness money, but there are also lots of money owed or the cost of doing business with the PAC. If I'm the 10 teams leaving, I let OSU and WSU deal with all that mess. I'm also not sure they actually got anything official with paying back Comcast about splitting it 12 ways. If they never voted on how that went, then OSU and WSU are holding that bag, since they are the only teams in the PAC. It isn't chump change for us individuals, but fighting over 2-4 million for schools and the optics, is silly.

Week 2 AP and Coaches Polls Are Out
Tandaian replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It will be interesting to see if the committee and the national media give the PAC the same love they have in the past for the SEC or B1G when they have had a bunch of teams ranked. -
Week 2 AP and Coaches Polls Are Out
Tandaian replied to Pennsylvania Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I have never been under the belief SEC is so much better than every other conference, but their number of championships since the BCS/CFP started can' be denied. -
I know I wouldn't want Wilcox as a head coach, but he was a very good to great DC.

It is amazing how everybody forgets he was fired for abusing his players at Texas Tech. He wasn't as bad as Bobby Knight, but he wasn't exactly a saint either.
