CFP Rankings 11/25 - Oregon at No. 6
I get head to head has to matter, but it can't be absolute. Miami squeaked by Notre Dame with a 3 point win, even though ND had 2 TOs vs none to Miami. That isn't total dominance. Massey SOS Miami 50 Notre Dame 29 ESPN SOS Miami 48 Notre Dame 34 ESPN FPI Miami 10 (19.0) Notre Dame 3 (24.9) ESPN SP+ Miami 11 (20.2) Notre Dame 5 (24.3) Every computer score says Notre Dame is the better team over Miami. If Miami had won by 14+, then it is a different story.

Oregon Moves Up to No. 7 in CFP Rankings
I'm predicting at least 2 of the top 4 CFP seeds lose again. Being off for a month creates too much rust. Having a home game to start the playoffs, I think is going to turn out to be very important, if they keep 1st round games at home. I personally think the 1st round and quarterfinals should be home games for the CFP. A bye is nice and all, but a home game is better.

Playoff Bracket Prediction from The Athletic Has Oregon As...
I believe sections 37, 38 and 39 are originally reserved for visiting teams. That should be close to 3500 tickets. Some season ticket holders may be out in the cold or be moved. It probably isn't many. I know I had tickets for the Pac 12 championship game when the Ducks hosted it with my season tickets.

Oregon Moves Up to No. 7 in CFP Rankings
It has been said many times, the CFP is decided by B1G TEN and SEC. It doesn't matter what the ACC, B12 or G6 think or want. I am happy the SEC is going to 9 conference games next season. Much harder to look good on paper without 4 automatic wins.

ESPN Analyst Calls Oregon Ducks a Fragile Team' Due to Supposed Late Game Struggles
It is too bad ESPN doesn't even try to hide their bias any more in favor of SEC football. They don't use the FPI stat this season because it doesn't fit their narrative. They will use it again, when it agrees with their narrative.

Sources: Big Ten Execs Pressing to Make $2.4 Billion Investment Deal — Without Michigan and USC if Needed
If you are using ON3 TV numbers those are 100% misleading. They are using Sports Media Watch, but only counting games that they count. tOSU has 7 TV games, while Tennessee only has 4 TV games. They are not comparing apples to apples.

Uncle Phil has mentioned an Oregon Duck trust after his passing.

Ducks Move Up To No. 8 In CFP Rankings
I'm not sure what is better. Playing tOSU after a home playoff win, who hasn't played for a month, or playing them in the championship game.

Big Ten Schedulers Don't Seem to Want Oregon to Repeat, or Even Succeed
The play before the Iowa FG, I thought it was intentional grounding. The QB was outside the pocket, but the ball did not clear the line of scrimmage and the ball was at least 5 yards short of a WR/TE.

How Short is Dante's Leash Against Iowa?
I'd say we have to split the first TD in the 2nd half between Brock and Dante, since Dante Moore got the ball to the Wisconsin 30 yard line.

If Pac-12 Money Had Been Different....How Would You Feel About it NOW?
My wish is for football/basketball to be their own entities and the rest of the Olympic sports to be grouped together. It makes so much more sense to be regional conferences, not coast to coast conferences. However, that isn't the world we live in today. If Oregon is going to survive the way college sports are today, we are in the right place. It is easy for others to say, take less money. Their jobs aren't on the line. Is anybody at their work going to stay in their job when offered a raise to go to another company because all of their co-workers aren't going with them?

GAT! Don't Wipe That Smile Off Your Face 😁😎😍 Billy's Gone
I don't get the fascination with Jedd Fisch. He has exactly 1 winning season as a FBS head coach. I have him as TBD.

An Oregon QB Simmering on the Bench?
Wilsonville is a sports powerhouse in the state of Oregon at the 5A level. They and Summit are the two schools fighting for state titles. Wilsonville have won back to back 5A football titles. With being a 2 sport athlete, it can be hard to go to all the camps where recruiting scouts go to evaluate players. I'm glad our coaches were able to see the potential with him.

A B1G Autzen Expansion? 'Not-So-Fast!'
It is pretty fickle for Autzen Stadium and fans. During the Chip Kelly days, it was sold out, but then for Mark, Willie and Mario not every game was sold out. Not even every conference game was sold out. The infrastructure isn't there for more seating, but the consistent selling out of the stadium isn't there either. If Autzen can sell out every game for 10 straight years, then you can start thinking of adding more seats. There is quite a bit of undeveloped land south of Leo Harris Parkway, but I believe all of it is owned by the city. The city of Eugene really hates to develop park areas. The Ducks would need to do another land swap with the city to even have the city think of letting UO add parking. The UO does own land just south of the Willamette river, next to the Frohnmayer bridge, which actually would be a great spot for additional Autzen stadium parking. It would put parking away from Leo Harris Pkwy and MLK Blvd.

Are You Reconsidering Your Respect for the CFB 'Experts?'
Most are talking heads. Very little experts there. It is mostly about narrative and bias. Look at the SEC standings. All teams undefeated or with 1 loss are all ranked. Some of them have a nice OOC win, but not all. B1G TEN, ACC and Big 12 1 loss teams aren't given the same bias.

I Am EASILY AMUSED...Funnies & Facts
Franklin has a 50 million dollar buy out, if he were to be fired at the end of the season. I'm not sure PSU's athletic board has the same nonchalance about throwing away that kind of money like Texas A&M did with Jimbo Fisher. Oregon Ducks are 3-0 vs Penn State the last 2 games. Oregon Ducks beat PSU twice last Saturday.

Chad Powers: A Comedy at Our Expense?
Chad Powers was initially played by Eli Manning at a Penn St. walk on practice a few years ago. Chad Powers was created by Eli and Payton Manning.

What Does "Commitment" Mean?
Remember, these are teenagers making their first big life decision for recruiting. Then for the Transfer Portal, there are many reasons to change teams. Should somebody stay at a job that isn't the right fit for them? Don't get me wrong, there are probably many players just frustrated they expected something different. Some are willing to struggle, most want the "easy" path.

Does the Team Seem Different This Year? (Coaching)
Statistical anomaly. Pick and choose what you think is important and make up an equation. FPI and SP+ I think of tendencies. They are paint by number pictures. They aren't going to produce a Monet, Picasso or Van Gogh.

Time For Dan the Man to Prove That He Can
I'm not sure a top 4 seed is all that the CFP thought it would be. Yes, teams potentially play 1 less game, but last year not a single top 4 team won their game. It will be interesting to see if the different seeding makes a difference. Going a month between playing games is not great. Dan Lannings thoughts of starting the playoff sooner will probably start picking up steam, if the bye teams keep losing.

FOX Corp Releases Scathing Statement Against Google Amid Carriage Dispute with YouTube TV
I got an antenna for my TV, so I could get FOX, ABC, CBS and NBC. It doesn't help me with ESPN, Fox Sports or recording, but at least I can watch most of the big games lives, if my cable provider can't come to a deal. I had to drop Dish TV because they didn't have FOX(?) for almost a year.

New (?) Metric for Playoff Committee to Use
All SoS and SoR metrics are biased. It is unfortunate, but that is just how they work. If they are going to use these metrics, they should use more than one to try and thin out the biases.

New Group to Buy Trail Blazers!
The NBA has a rule requiring existing teams the rights to reject new teams in their home territory. The Charlotte's home territory is considered North and South Carolina. I doubt the Hornets are going to OK a move a NBA team in Raleigh. Especially, when the last 2 years they had the lowest attendance in the NBA. I have heard, Raleigh is a college town, not much of a professional team town. The Hurricanes do well enough with attendance, but I'm not sure a city with Duke, UNC and NCST would do well with a NBA team. I'd put in another professional team, that isn't basketball.

Oregon Ducks' Dan Lanning Reveals Update on Evan Stewart's Injury Rehab
"Evan won't be spending the entire fall in Miami." I understand there are online classes, but I feel like a University of Oregon student should be required to be within driving distance of the campus. I feel like all universities that aren't "online" universities should at the bare minimum require students to take midterms and finals in a classroom. I get it is 2025 and we have great technology, but there should be some requirements of in person attendance at universities. I know I'm definitely getting old....
