Could Oregon Football Schedule a Week 0 Game?
Since, when did teams get allowed to play 13 regular season games when it didn't involve Hawaii? The author of the article, Justin Phillips, didn't mention dropping another game. Week 0 only includes teams that play Hawaii or play out of the country. The author also mentioned SOS was used in making up the CFP teams. Apparently, he didn't watch any college football games. If that were true Indiana and SMU most certainly wouldn't have been in the CFP. It is really too bad no research was done for this article.

How to Get Under Charles’s Skin…
No conference is awarded an automatic qualifying spot. The new look PAC doesn't have 8 teams, so they aren't considered a true conference. Once the PAC gets 8 football teams, then they are a conference and then if they are 1 of 5 top ranked conference champions, then they get an automatic bid to the CFP.

CFP Changes Needed
It is pretty clear the CFP has been very clunky this first year. The seeding will have to change. The #1 and #2 seed should never open as underdogs in their first game of a playoff format in any sport. They have to change who gets a first round bye or they need to reseed after the first round. The CFP also needs to stop holding to tradition with either placement of teams or dates of games. Georgia was the #2 seed and was forced to play in New Orleans instead of Atlanta because the SEC champion usually plays in the Sugar Bowl. Having the big 4 bowl games play on December 31st or January 1st has to go. It is clear 25 days is too much for the teams given a bye. Every single team with a bye had no idea a football game was being played until either late in the 1st half or the 2nd half. Schedule for the CFP should have the 1st round 1 week after the conference championship games. Sorry, Army/Navy. The Quarter finals 2 weeks after, so the teams with a bye have a normal bye to get healthy. The Semi finals can be held on 12/31 or 1/1. What it would have looked like this season. 1st round 12/14 - 12/15 Quarter finals 12/21 - 12/22 Semifinals 12/31 - 1/1 Finals 1/13

How Is This Possible? Enough With the Ducks Diss Already!
Looking at the list of All Americans and looking at their stats, I find it hard to argue with that list. When the Ducks win the CFP, everything will be right in the world.

But What if We Lose the Big Ten Championship?
Just saying.... Oregon played in the first NCAA men's basketball championship game in 1939 and Oregon played in the first football playoff championship game in 2014. The Ducks are destined to be in the Championship game this season.

Did the SEC Save Indiana's Bacon, Or Are the Hoosier's Playoff Chances Toast?
It will be interesting to see how the CFP ranks teams. I'll just compare Alabama and Clemson, the #12 and #13 in the AP poll. Clemson has lost to UGA (9-2) and Louisville (7-4). Best wins Pitt (7-4) and Virginia (5-6). If they beat South Carolina, it will be their 2nd win vs a Power 4 team with a winning record. Alabama has lost to Vandy (6-5), Tenn (9-2) and Oklahoma (6-5). Best wins UGA (9-2), South Carolina (8-3), Missouri (8-3), LSU (7-4). Alabama's losses are worse than Clemson's, but their wins are better than Clemson's, even with the 3 or 4 auto non-conference wins some SEC teams have. I honestly don't know who is better between Alabama and Clemson.

Public Apology to JabbaNoBargain (From Original Post of CFB Playoff Committee to HOSE Oregon?)
Nothing to be done about it this year or the next few years, but I can see the CFP reseeding after the opening round. Since, the #5 seed is more often than not going to be ranked #2-#4 in the final rankings, why should they get a much easier path than the #1 seed. Yes, the #5 seed has to play an extra game, but it is at home and then they play the weakest automatic bid team. The #5 seed is almost guaranteed a semi final birth every year with the current system.

For Anybody Traveling to the Big House ..
All Michigan has is benches for seating. Zero individual seating. I can't imagine the 50 yard line group likes that.

What is the Truth about Oregon Season Tickets?
There was a long period of time after Chip left, where there was no waiting list for season tickets. I don't doubt some tOSU fans bought season tickets, but I also know Oregon season ticket holders sold to tOSU. There were a ton of tOSU around the 50 yard line on the old side.

Olympic Sports Losing Roster Spots
Everybody saw this coming, but nobody cared. Historic House-NCAA settlement leaving hundreds of Olympic sport athletes in peril SPORTS.YAHOO.COM While the NCAA and power conferences agreed to expand upon scholarships as part of the settlement, they also imposed roster limits for sports, many of which did not previously exist.

Disappointed in National Coverage of Oregon vs. Ohio State
I was at the game and it was scary how efficient tOSU was on offense. tOSU may have been the "better" or played better, but the only thing that matters is what the score board reads. It read Oregon 32, Ohio State 31. I think it is a compliment to the Ducks, that everybody says tOSU was the better team. In that sense, the Ducks played "worse" or was a worse team, but they still won. Game 6 of the regular season doesn't mean much. Only games 13 -16 really matter.

Welcome to Autzen!!!
The decibels did reach 127. The Buckeyes represented, but I don't think they got to 20K. That means 1/3 were tOSU fans? I can definitely see 10-12K were tOSU fans.

Are You Kidding Me! ESPN's FPI has Bewildering Reaction to Oregon Ducks' Upset Win Over Ohio State Buckeyes
FPI is all about calculating a whole bunch of stats to come up with a number. Barely beating Idaho isn't going to do the Ducks any favors. As well all know, you can almost make stats say whatever you want.

More Auto Bids for the Two Super-Conferences to Playoffs: Move to 16 Teams?
I don't like the auto bids, but it is likely B1G TEN and SEC get 4 every year anyway. Why force the issue? I know it would be hurting the Ducks, but having the B1G and SEC be the haves and everybody else be the have nots, will eventually hurt the B1G and SEC. Right now, we sort of have a national champion with the playoffs. Money hasn't separated the B1G and SEC from ACC and Big 12 yet. In a couple of years when the money really starts to show, it will be the B1G and SEC teams winning titles. I know not much different than it is now, but it still seems like the ACC and Big 12 have a chance. When over half the country doesn't feel invested in college football, the TV viewership will fall and then the money will fall. I personally would have only 3 full money distributions to conferences, then split the remaining extra bid money between the other conferences. Give the ACC, Big 12 and the G6 a little extra money to give them a glimmer of hope. We all know it is false hope, but hope all the same to keep the TV numbers high.

Wowsa: Fisch Begging for NIL Donations in Seattle...
Alumni for most university have no idea what it takes to recruit athletes these days. He has to beg because most alumni feel like the name Washington is enough to recruit the athletes. I'm really glad Nike, Oregon and whomever else knows what it takes to recruit and set up Division Street.

How Can Autzen Be Improved?
Autzen essentially only has 1 road out, it does go east and west, but going east the traffic is reduced to 1 lane after going over I-5. Trying to get 60,000 people out on 1 road and part of the road is 1 lane, is never going to be fast. I would put in more parking south of the river. The parking structure along Millrace Dr. is not nearly big enough.

Some Perspective on Dan Lanning as a Head Coach
Dan Lanning is 37 years old and 1.5 seasons in as a head coach with 80% winning percentage. Average age of coaches (minus Bowden) for their 1st title is age 49.57, with winning percentage of 75.55. Average season winning a title 7.72. With Bowden added into the calculation age 50.92, with winning percentage of 76.75. Average season winning a title 9.47. Most head coaches aren't who they are for the rest of their career 1.5 seasons in. My perspective is we shouldn't start to worry for a couple more seasons. Coaches will have growing pains. 1998 Tennesse - Phillip Fulmer 48 years old, 7th season, 66-11-1 84.62% 1999 FSU - Bobby Bowden 70 years old, 34th season, 304-85-4 77.53 2000 Oklahoma - Bob Stoops 40 Years old, 2nd season, 20-5 80.0% 2001 Miami - Larry Coker 53 years old, 1st season, 12-0 100.0% 2002 tOSU - Jim Tressel 50 years old, 17th season, 156-62-2 70.91% 2003 LSU - Nick Saban 52 years old, 11th season, 82-39-1 67.21% 2004 USC - Pete Carroll 53 years old, 4th season, 42-9 82.35% 2005 Texas - Mack Brown 54 years old, 22nd season, 169-93-1 64.26% 2006 Florida - Urban Meyer 42 years old, 6th season, 61-12 83.56% 2007 LSU - Les Miles 54 years old, 7th season, 62-27 69.66% 2008 Florida - Urban Meyer 2009 Alabama - Nick Saban 2010 Auburn - Gene Chizik 49 years old, 4th season, 27-24 52.94% 2011 Alabama - Nick Saban 2012 Alabama - Nick Saban 2013 FSU - Jimbo Fisher 48 years old, 4th season, 45-10 81.82% 2014 tOSU - Urban Meyer 2015 Alabama - Nick Saban 2016 Clemson - Dabo Swinney 47 years old, 9th season, 89-28 76.07% 2017 Alabama - Nick Saban 2018 Clemson - Nick Saban 2019 LSU - Ed Orgeron 58 years old, 8th season, 56-36 60.87% 2020 Alabama - Nick Saban 2021 Georgia - Kirby Smart 46 years old, 6th season, 66-15 81.48% 2022 Georgia - Kirby Smart

Let’s Do It: GameDay Thread vs. Washington!
Coulda woulda, shoulda... We will see them in the PAC championship game. Lanning needs to learn though. Left 6 points on the table and to go for it on 4th and 3 at midfield? I don't know why being so aggressive is considered a good thing. I don't want to be too conservative either, but leaving points in a close game is silly.
